    I am helping my sister source her next lease. She is coming out of a Hyundai Sonata and looking for a CUV. This looks like it could be an interesting option given the huge lease cash rebates. Anything else we should be looking at?

    VA (24486)
    She requires 15k per year. Open to terms but ideally under $400 a month with no money down.
    She wants "push button start" and heated seats. So many options, need help focusing on the best deals.

    Which ever trim level best hits the sweet spot of price point and incentives. Her feature requirements are minimal and the standard engine is fine (LX w/ conv pack would do the trick even). She is cross shopping the Sante Fe sport, and anything else that we find that is heavily incentivized or is known to lease well (low MF, high RV). Input welcome.

    - maintenance package is $540 but they said they’d do deal for $449/month no maintenance and $459 with maintenance. 
    - negative equity - we prefer to get the car now as it makes sense for our family now. 

    I ran numbers on sales price of Invoice - $31,297

    MF - .00197
    Residual - 46% ( lower for 48 months? ) 
    acquisition fee - $650
    doc fee - $80
    taxed incentives - $6250 (lease cash)
    sales tax - 9%
    License / Registration fees - $580
    Cap Cost On Reduction - $619
    Maintenance package - $15/month = $540
    Negative equity - $2,974 ($82/month)

    final price on 48/15 - $449/month with maintenance

    The 48/15 numbers are different - .00211 and 43%; $5060 lease cash (EX 2.0T FWD)

    You can't use the invoice price as your cap cost, if you are rolling in the negative equity and fees and the maintenance program and such. And, you need to account for the lease cash. All of those things would then be subject to the MF (interest).

    $2974 over 48 months is $61.40/mo, not $82/mo.

    That's why you need to get the cap cost from the dealer that accounts for all these things. Then, we can crunch the numbers and see if the payment makes sense.

    I still don't see an adjusted cap cost on that worksheet, just the selling price.

    However, if I add all the taxes and fees and the negative equity, then subtract the cap reduction, I get $442/mo plus tax, so the dealer quote seems to be in the ballpark.

    If I subtract the cap reduction from the selling price, I'm within a penny of that payment quote (figure it's a rounding error).
