    Hi!
From NH. New to this and wanting to ask if I got a fair deal after the fact...
    I think I did?

I just leased an Outback 2.5i Limited- loaded with option package # 24 Navigation System, Eyesight, body molding, splash guards, rear bumper cover, door edge guard wheel locks.
    MSRP=32,695.00
    Option Package 24= 2,085.00
    Destination & Delivery=915.00
    SRP=36,570.00

    I purchased 15K miles per year/ monthly payment (with 0 money down)= $390.00 x 42 months

BTW-I was almost at the end of my loaded Crosstrek Limited lease 15K miles per year/ monthly payment (with 0 money down) 340.00 x 36 months

    How did I fare?

    Many thanks!

    54% and .00055 for 42/15 on 2.5i Limited.

With the SRP and selling prices given, I get a payment of $403/mo.

    $390/mo looks good.

What selling price were you quoted?

What does the extra 9000 miles do to the residual value?

    Is the $2496 positive equity?

    How much out of pocket?

What should my lease payment be on 36/15K in NM on Outback 3.6 Limited? MSRP is $38,740, agreed price is $34,432, Gross Capitalized Cost is $35,516. I plan using $2,500 out of pocket at lease signing.

    .00100 MF and 62% residual
If Gross CAP = Adjusted CAP, then $379/mo.+tax

I didn't calculate with your $2500, because I don't know if everything is in the Gross CAP, or not.

Thanks, Gross Cap Cost is not adjusted CAP. Adjusted CAP is $33,016. (Gross Cap minus $2500 = Adjusted Cap, right?)

Can't put all $2500 down as CAP reduction. Doesn't the first payment come out of the $2500?

Your Gross CAP is $1084 more than the agreed price. What is the itemization of that amount?

First payment out of the total of $2,500? -> Probably not, because of lease loyalty discount. Subaru pays the first month payment if you go from one Subaru lease to another, in which I'd be doing. So the full $2,500 would be going to CAP reduction. The $1,084 is dealer fee and AQ cost. ($595 AQ + $489 DF=$1,084).

Thank you. I built a spreadsheet following a process on Edmunds and ended up with your same number, so I think I did it right. Below is what I built.

    MSRP $38,740.00

    Agreed Price $34,432.00
    Gross Capitalized Cost $35,516.00
    Down Payment $2,500.00
    Capitalized cost reduction $2,500.00
    Adjusted Capitalized Cost $33,016.00
    Pretax monthly Payment $306.96

    Thanks for your help.

That payment looks good, given the residual adjustment for the extra miles.

What does the $2496 trade equity cover? Drive offs only, or is there some cap reduction in there as well?

Hi there.   Hoping you can help with some historical perspective.   I got the following offer on a 2018 Limited here in CA.   Wondering how much Subaru money factor and residual fluctuate month to month.   I have two months left on my Ford about $660.  Is this a really good deal - i.e.  could it drastically rise if I wait the two months and finish out my lease?

    MSRP: $36540
    Selling price: $32622
    Drive offs: $895.37
    Payments: $312 + tax = $342
    Residual: 63% or $23020
    Money Factor: 0.00082

I'd be surprised if the deals changed significantly in the next two months, though.

I got a lease quote this weekend from a dealer in the "Sunbelt" region. They waived the Acquisition fee but MF was .0015, is it reasonable to ask them to drop the MF to .001?

Dealers can markup the money factor by .00050. I would assume that's what happened here. Definitely negotiable.

Acquisition fees can be waived with an increase in money factor, but it's more likely that there is a regional incentive that allowed that waiver.

    .00095 MF and 62% residual

I get $399/mo. with that adjusted CAP
Are you in the City of Chicago? Extra 9.5% lease tax, there.

I am in a dealer in Chicago but don’t live in the City so that should not be the issue.  They seem to be using a higher MF (.00135).  Also unclear what the gross cap is so much higher than the selling price... they say taxes - should taxes be added to get to gross cap cost?  Is your 399 excluding or including taxes?

    Hi,

Could I get MF, RV, any incentives for a Outback 3.6R Limited AWD, with eyesight/NAV (Pkg 23), for 36/12 and 36/15 for MA and NH. Are they same for both states?

    Thank you very much.

IL taxes the sum of the payments and collects it up front. You can either pay them when you sign the contracts, or have the tax amount added to the cap cost.

Subaru allows the dealer to mark up the MF as much as .00050 for extra profit. How nice of them to not take full advantage of you, in that regard.

    Subaru numbers are national.

    64% / 62% and .00100.

Nice choice - my wife loves hers.

$2030 extra.. Ask for an itemization.
    Tax = $1000 or so
    $595 acquisition fee
    That should be about it.

I used the $36,330 number for the calculation.
It's the money factor markup that is adding the additional money to the payment.

Thanks for your response. Is Colorado and New Mexico in the Sun Belt region?

Thanks. So would it be resonable to ask to waive the AQ fee if one dealer did it in one location but didn't in the other location?

The acquisition fee is imposed by the bank; I wasn't aware it could be waived, ever. Unless it's some sort of regional promotion - and, we wouldn't have that information to confirm or deny what the dealer is telling you.

Interesting. Thank you very much. The one dealer that "waived" had a higher MF. The one that had the AQ fee had a lower MF. The offer with the AQ fee not "waived" but a lower MF has a $20 per month lower payment. So lower MF wins over waived AQ fee. I was hoping I could get the lower MF with the "waived" AQ fee. I'm very likely going to move forward as soon as I see what May deals bring, hopefully they will be a little better.

Most banks have an option to waive the acquisition fee, in exchange for a bump to the money factor.
Generally, it only favors the lessee on a lower priced vehicle, for a shorter term lease.
