What percentage off MSRP should one target for an SEL Premium AWD R-line in SoCal area? The Tiguan wasn’t even on my radar since it has a weak engine and less than average gas mileage of 21/27, but the R-line model with 20” wheels and more aggressive front/rear fascia and body colored side skirts looks really sharp. I may still wait s but to see if they add a stronger engine to the line-up. 184 hp just doesn’t cut it for a $42K MSRP car.

Asked a question about leasing before but due to the good deals thinking about purchasing now instead. 2018 Tiguan Limited AWD with Premium package in Colorado. Dealer has it listed for $21,361 on their website (after dealer discount of $6,153 including the $1000 VW incentive). When talking to the dealer he states that if we use VW financing (advertised at 0 APR for 60 months and can be combined with the $1000 VCI according to VW.com) then we loose $3000 in incentives. If that is correct then their web price is manipulative and not achievable since you have to use VW financing to get the $1000 VCI. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks so much!

That's correct, if you use the 0% financing, you get the $1000 rebate, but the dealer loses their $3000 incentive.

That's correct, if you use the 0% financing, you get the $1000 rebate, but the dealer loses their $3000 incentive.
