This is the first offer I received from the dealer. I have not asked for the exact money factory yet but I have a 790 credit score so if its high I will ask for lower. It seems like all of the cap cost reductions were from the manufacturer. Maybe the dealer can offer another $1,000 off the selling price. Thoughts?

If you are rolling the taxes and fees into the lease payment, ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and make sure you understand all the items that have been added into the selling price to get to that number.

Yes.. it's national.
But, it's a dealer incentive from Acura. They don't have to disclose it. Use that knowledge to negotiate a low selling price.

Yes, that is what they kept telling me when trying to negotiate.

As you continue to make payments on your current loan, the balance due will drop. However, the depreciation will not go down as fast, so at some point in the indeterminate future, the value of the car will be equal to or higher than the outstanding loan balance.

We don't have 20K residuals; 15K is the highest we go. Check with your dealer on how the extra miles are addressed.

Given the lease cash, your discount from sticker is effectively $0.

Here's an update: Now, they have offered $466.83 per month (with $466.83 due at signing) and included the Wheel & Tire Package. Is that a good deal?? I tried to use the price tools and it told me that $38,275 is a good price (but that's the MSRP!!). Thanks again!!

Ask for the selling price and adjusted CAP cost.

Negotiating by payment is like flying blind.

Am I correct for a '18 RDX AWD W/Tech, a 36/10 has a MF of .00062 and 58% Residual? There is also an additional $2500 in lease incentive still? Any other lease incentives above this?

With the above #s, if I get the car at dealer invoice less the $2500, I am calculating a payment of $400/mo before tax. Seems pretty good.

Thanks for the info. Also, any ideas how to get the Black Book Value of my current car without going to a dealer? Are there online services?

The MF and residual are correct.

We know of no incentives beyond the $2500

Check out the "Real World Trade in Values" thread here at Edmunds; there are a couple experts who have a great track record of providing trade in values for folks who ask.

Another great resource is CarMax; I used one of their quotes to force the dealer I bought my wife's car from to up their offer for my car by $2000.

If you drive that many miles a year, you're likely best served by finding a 1 or 2 year old model with low miles and buy it.

Leasing with that many miles per year will kill you on the payment. The extra 30,000 miles will cost you $6000-8000 on the residual, or $170-225/mo on top of the "base" lease payment.

Those are dealer incentives. You don't need to point them out, because that money doesn't come directly to you. But, now you know about it, and you can adjust your offering price accordingly.

State and tax rate?

Find out the adjusted cap cost from the dealers, and what was added to the selling price to get there.

I get $420/mo with those numbers; pretty close.

We don't track selling prices, so can't tell you if these is room to move on the selling price.

If you don't ask, you won't get.

Thanks again, this site has proved invaluable! Turning in my 2015 for a 2018 RDX Base AWD later this week. Ended up at an Adjusted Cap Cost of $33400. If I was willing to go far out of my way, I could have done better but I like my dealer and it just wasn't worth it for a $200 difference. I'm at a pre-tax payment of $315 with paying Acq Fee, 1st Month Payments and Registration at signing for a 36/7500. This is the 10th Acura/Honda I've leased and having access to the information provide here makes it a pretty simple and painless process. Hats Off to Michaell and kyfdx!
