The MSRP is $37195 and this is what's included in $1598 (first month, bank fee, dmv, dealer fees and taxes). I don't know the selling price and I'm not eligible for VPP.

The MSRP is $37195 and this is what's included in $1598 (first month, bank fee, dmv, dealer fees and taxes). I don't know the selling price and I'm not eligible for VPP.

That's a lot of up front money - what, specifically, does that cover?

I'd be suspicious of the dealer claim of "paying off" the BMW lease - that $1600 could easily find its way into the new deal - or be part of the up front cash you're paying.

39 months is really the only term you want to use for Infiniti. Residual increase is not enough to make up for the shorter term.

How much is it worth to you to get the right deal? A two hour drive, each way (give or take) to save 100's if not 1000's of $$$ is a pretty good return on your investment of time.

The deal is great.

I come up with the same number you do.
Ask for the adjusted CAP cost, and make sure it's the same as the negotiated price.
You don't mention your state, but it's likely that the bank fee and doc fee are taxable, and they rolled that upfront tax into the CAP. Of course, that only accounts for about $2/mo.

While you are asking that, verify that they are using the base money factor.

Is it AWD or RWD?
What mileage allowance?

What does base rate mean?  

They just called me back and offered this:

Money factor didn’t go down much.  I have Teir 1 credit.  Are you saying I should be getting base mf? .00003 is less than. 1% apr., but .00086 is about 2%.  Trying to figure out what you mean by base rate.  Thanks for your help.  

Base rate is the .00003 MF. Yes, almost free money. I'd move on from this dealer - they don't seem interested in moving inventory. Residual is based on full MSRP.

So I told them and they said .00003 base mf is only for “fleet vehicles”.  Haha not sure of that is true or not and I don’t know what to think now. Lol 

It's just a way for them to not admit they were trying to put one over on you.

Ugh now I’m more annoyed with them.  But how is the payment so low now? They said they discounted the car almost $7k.  I don’t know what they are trying to do. Should I ask to see full list of numbers?  Anything else I should be looking for? Thanks!

You should be looking for a new dealer to work with. You can ask for the full set of numbers, but would you trust them with what they give you, given what's happened so far?

Yes and I understand what you’re saying.  Problem is it’s the only Infiniti dealer within 120 miles of where I live.  I’m sure knowing that they think they have me, but I’m not going for this deal.  Thanks for your help.

How much is it worth to you to get the right deal? A two hour drive, each way (give or take) to save 100's if not 1000's of $$$ is a pretty good return on your investment of time.

So. about $424/mo.+tax
Adjusted CAP would have to about $43,500 to get that payment.
That's $1400 over your sale price. $700 is the acquisition fee.
I'd want to know where the other $700 is coming from.

But, looks like a good deal, either way.
