Can anyone help me evaluate my deal?

Base Cap Cost $47512
Cost Added to Lease $172.15 doc fee + 196 license/title + 25 evr + 1231.63 tax = 2070.87 (Doc fee, taxes (in Chicago they told me tax is paid upfront?)
Cap Cost Reductions 0
Adjusted Cap Cost $48,212 (700 acq fee)
Money Factor .000030
Lease Term 39/12k
Lease Payment $446

The taxes upfront confuses me, but the dealer said this "I can give you a payment with rolling in taxes and fees but then you are effectively paying "tax on tax" in Illinois"

If you live in the City of Chicago, you are paying both state and city taxes - about 17%, total.

The state taxes the sum of the payments and collects the money up front.

The city taxes the monthly payment.

If you choose to roll the state taxes into the cap cost, then you will pay city taxes on the state tax amount.

All things considered, $446/mo for a $57K car is a darn good payment.

Adjusted CAP would have to about $43,500 to get that payment.
That's $1400 over your sale price. $700 is the acquisition fee.
I'd want to know where the other $700 is coming from.

But, looks like a good deal, either way.

Yes, only if you live in Chicago proper would you have the double tax. Though, you may want to check if your town has a local sales tax, as well.

Quick question for NJ leases. I just got a quote on the Q50 from a NJ dealer and they had a line item for $3,124 for sales tax which appears to be the tax on the full price of the car. I thought NJ just required tax on the total of the payments.

But now I am reading that technically there are two options - tax on the full price or tax on the total of the lease payments and it's apparently negotiable? Am I reading that right?

That's what I thought! I have done a bunch of leases in NJ and thought maybe when they changed the sale tax starting in 2017, maybe they changed the sales tax calculation around leases. So I googled it and found a story saying that they can tax the whole sale or just the payments, which I found bizarre.

We don't have numbers for over 15K/yr.
Likely, the extra 8125 miles will reduce the residual on a cents/mile basis.
We don't have that number. Likely between $0.10-$0.25 each.
