  • Hello, looking for current numbers on 2018 S5 Sportsback. Prestige package. In Colorado. Dealer is telling me residual is 59% for 36 month 10k lease on Prestige and using a .00215 MF. Seems high. Have numbers changed or is the dealer trying to hose me? Thanks in advance!

  • I am looking for the RV and MF on the 2018 Audi S5 SB Prestige for 42/10 or 39/10 in the NY Metro (Long Island) region, but not sure of the lease packages yet. Thanks.
  • My dealer is telling me that Audi does not do MSD (multiple security deposits) to reduce the MF. They are quoting the current rate, .00190, but not honoring my option to use MSD for further reduction. Is this legit? What is the Audi MSD policy? Thanks!

We have heard nothing about Audi suspending their MSD program, but other posters have related similar information.

Reach out to other dealers and see if you get a consistent story.

One note - NY does not allow MSDs at all.

  • Found this forum recently with a ton of helpful information.

Im looking for numbers on a 2018 S5 sportback prestige 36/15 and 36/12 in St Louis, MO. One dealer gave me a quote that had MF at .00232. That seems pretty inflated after reading through the forum.
    Thanks.

    .00190 MF and 62% residual
With that adjusted CAP, I get $703/mo.. that's close enough!
Selling price is a solid 10% off MSRP. Doesn't look like any money factor markup.

So, $3300 out of pocket, outside of the first payment. and the CAP cost is still about $400 higher than the selling price. That means we have to find $3700 in legitimate charges, in addition to the sale price.

    $895 acquisition fee
$400 dealer fee (garbage, but typical for NJ.. could even be higher)
    $400 NJ DMV fees (estimate)
    $1500 tax (estimate)

That's $3200.... not too far off.
Do you have a breakdown of how they arrived at the CAP cost?

    Selling Price - $58200.00
    Price Adjustment - $153.99
    Adjusted Selling Price - $58353.99
    Supplemental Title - $233.42

Do you think I can do any better? This seems to be the best deal so far compared to other dealers.

So, your selling price and the adjusted CAP cost are pretty close. Don't you want to know where your $4000 is going? Maybe it's inclusive of all of those things, and a $999 dealer fee? Or, $399 for VIN etching, or $500 for floor mats?

Maybe, it's all legitimate charges. But, if it's my $4000, I want to see it all laid out.

    What state and tax rate?

How does the $2000 up front break down?

    36/12?
    Premium Plus?

If so, .00190 MF and 61% residual are correct.
    $895 bank fee?

    What is the MSRP?

$4477 is the due at signing amount?

    $4477 ( sales tax $2063, bank fee $89, doc.$395, dmv $395 ,1st payment $729)

    36/12?
    Premium Plus?

If so, .00190 MF and 61% residual are correct.
    $895 bank fee?

    What is the MSRP?
    Selling price?
$4477 is the due at signing amount?

    Thanks for your response
Yes, it's 12K miles per year for 3 years. It is premium plus. Bank fee was listed as $89. MSRP is $63,875. I don't have the selling price.
$4477 is due at signing and it includes sales tax, bank fee, dmv fee, doc fee and first month payment. Do you think it is a good deal?

I think if you add up the numbers after the $4477, you'll find the bank fee is actually $895.

Since all other costs are paid upfront, the adjusted CAP cost should be the same as the selling price. To get to that payment, the sale price would have to be around $58,500.
    That's a pretty good discount.

But, when spending thousands of dollars, be sure to do the math, to make sure you know where your money is going. ;)

I appreciate your quick response. Thanks. I did do the math when I received the quote. I mistyped it when I entered here. It was listed as $895. Will pay more attention while typing in future :)
  • Looking for numbers for GA for Sportback premium plus and prestige. 10/36 k and if there is a sweet spot for mileage years that would be good to know.

    .00190 MF and 62%/60% residual for Premium+/Prestige

36 months is the best term.
There is no "sweet spot" for mileage allowance. Always take the allowance that you need.

    Cap cost- 59,334.85
    60% residual
    Base payments- 793.26
    After MI tax- 840.86

    .00190 and 60%

MF is marked up a little; costing you about $25/mo on the pre-tax payment.

Politely tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.

  • Hi! I am new to leasing and am going to start the process for a 2018 Audi S5 prestige Sportback with MSRP of 67,150 and includes sports package, cold weather, drivers assistant. In talking with the sales person, I can buy it for $61,000. What would be a fair lease in 98122 zip code for 36months/7500 miles? I did not get as far as to talk about residual. Thank you for your help.
