Tax on a lease in NJ should only be around $2000, at most.
Ask for the actual numbers used to calculate the lease, not a purchase.
(you want the Adjusted CAP cost, and an itemization)
Acquisition fee is $925, I think.
How many miles on this loaner?

I'd want to put less money down, and take the higher payment. How you structure it is up to you.

The depreciation is $17,433.70 and finance charge is $5310.28. Based on 36 months the payment should be about $631.77. I am assuming you are paying the taxes, registration, acquisition fee, doc fee and other fees in the $5000. You are also probably paying some money to lower the cap cost also in that $5,000. If taxes are only $2,000, upfront should only be $4,000. If you take $2,000 in taxes and out of what should be $4,000 and add to monthly payment, this is about another $56 a month. In addition I would negotiate of more for the loaner as it really is not brand new and has depreciated slightly.

Dealer is saying RV for a 2018 X5 sdrive service loaner is 54% on a 36/12. That doesn't seem right. I thought it was 56%. Trying to get clarification.

How many miles are on it? There will be an adjustment to the residual based on that.

The standard residual for new units if 58%, but there will be an adjustment based on the number of miles on the odometer.

Yes.. if under 5000 miles, it is 58% for 36/12
MINUS $0.25/mile for existing mileage.

It's normal, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get it in writing. Get everything in writing.

NY has a weird thing where they actually tax the tax, if you roll it in. Plus, it's subject to the money factor.
We usually suggest 7% off, minus incentives.

Doesn't matter if it's the outgoing model, or not. Unless BMW corporate puts incentives on it, the cost structure for the dealership remains the same.
