I'd add the bank fee to the payment, as well.

9% off, before incentives, is a pretty solid discount. Not sure you can get much more off the sticker price.

And, the base MF is good, as well.

    Looks solid.

    $1000 lease credit
They've misquoted the residual percentage, but it looks like they used the correct number for the calculation.
The money factor is marked up the maximum

With the numbers provided, I get $818/mo, not $842
With the base MF, $38/mo. less

Money factor increased from .00156 to .00166

As far as we know, none of the incentives have changed.

Trying to piece this together for X5 lease in CA for May - is this accurate?

    36/10k - MF = 0.00166 & Residual = 59%

    Lease incentives:
    35i - $1k
    35d - $1k
    40e - $2750 or $4k - not sure which it is?

Loyalty - $1k on any model

Lastly is the Costco incentive extended to May at $500?

Interested to know MF and residual values for 48 month lease. Zip code is 63017. Also - an update on any available incentives. Concerning the Loyalty incentive - what is the qualifier for that? Vehicle in question is X5 35i xDrive Thanks.

I received the following offer from a local dealer. I live (and the car will be registered) in Chicago. There is a use lease tax for Chicago. I believe sales tax is 9.5% in Chicago and Use Tax is 9%. Since 2015 they only apply this to the monthly payments based on term/residual.

I have a current Owners Choice BMW X5 I will be turning in
I have a BMW Fleet Discount

    PURCHASE
The Purchase Option Looks Like This:
    New 2018 BMW X5 xDrive3.5

    MSRP $73,160
    Discount ($6,709)
    Rebate ($2,500)

Selling Price after Rebate = $63,951

    LEASE
They are offering me a lease of 36 months / 10k year for:

    $966.32 with $0 Money Down

    Due at signing:
    1st Payment $966.32
    Fees & Insurance $411.94

    Total Due:$1,378

What does the Lease option look like to you? I cannot get to their numbers. Is this a good deal? What am I missing?

They have stated they are selling me the car $2,000 under invoice.

The definition of "invoice" varies from dealer to dealer. You want 7% (or more) off MSRP, plus incentives, which you've beat handily.

IL and City of Chicago taxes will kill you on a lease. Total tax rate of around 17%, IIRC.

IL taxes the sum of the payments, and Chicago taxes the monthly payment. If you roll in the IL taxes into the cap cost, you'll be paying tax on the tax (ouch).

Ask the dealer what cap cost they used for the $966/mo quote, and a detailed itemization of how they reached that number from the selling price.

I'm curious; how is taxing the sum of payments different from a percentage on each payment?

If they tax the sum, and it's rolled into the lease, does that amount get a finance charge against it?

Hey, looking to pull the trigger on a 2018 X5 35d in Washington State. Looking for 36/10 and wanted to confirm lease rate, residual and lease cash. Live in 98144 but looking at a few, one in the same area and one on the other side of the state (99352). Is there any differences in incentives between the zip codes and if so, can we use the better one based on where we live or where the car is? Want to do just first payment and license fee down, is the acquisition fee $995 and doc fee $150? Thank you in advance.

That's how it's different. IL collects the tax upfront. So, you either pay it all upfront, or roll it into the CAP cost.

    .00166 MF and 59% residual
    $1000 lease credit.

    No difference between zips

    The acquisition fee is $925
Doc fee would be a dealer charge...

Thank you in advance.

    .00166 MF and 59% residual
    $1000 lease credit.

    No difference between zips

    The acquisition fee is $925
Doc fee would be a dealer charge...
Thank you, I will let you know if we can make a deal work. Shooting for 10% off MSRP before lease cash based on what I have seen on the boards recently. Not sure if they will be willing to play, most dealers in our area will not lease at the base rate or do much of a discount, in my past experience trying to work with them.

    Hi,
I am in Maryland, looking to lease X5. If I settle with $60K selling cost, what would be my average monthly lease payment including state taxes and zero down? Also, please share RV and MF for MD 21202 zipcode and 12K miles.

$893/mo, with tax and acquisition fee rolled in.
1st payment, DMV and doc fee due upfront.

MD taxes the full price of the vehicle, so that hurts.

Thank You! Dealerships are offering up to 16% off on MSRP only for purchase with 1.99 APR/60Months. Which one is better deal lease or purchase?

If you want to own the car, then the purchase might be a better deal.

    Hi guys.
2019 G05 X5 to be unveiled end of June with September production slots from several articles online. Some dealerships are showing allocation slots allready I’m hearing. Can you confirm if this is the case and if you see September allocations?  I’m teying to decide whether to wait but I can’t seem to get a firm answer. Thank you

    dblues5,
My view of leasing the current model is this. The residual is okay but money factor is too high. The key for leasing is how much discount you will get to make the lease payment make sense. Most of the deals on this post suggest in my opinion the monthly lease payment is too high.
In regard to purchase, will can look at lease data to get a rough assessment of what you vehicle will be worth in 3 years. I have found that often the residual value is often higher than current market value at that time. Now if you can get a great discount of the car, than your depreciation will not be as significant over the next few years.
Best option I believe is purchase.

    @MLevine,
Thanks for your suggestions. Dealer offers $820 per month on zero down just first payment. Selling price is $56K on $65K MSRP. Not sure if this is a good deal in MD. I’m  leaning towards leasing for high maintenance cost. Is this lease a good deal?

    Hi - I'm in NY, 11050

Looking for the MF, residual, and any incentives on a 2018 X5 36/10 and12. I'm coming off a 328i lease now. What kind of a discount should I be shooting for off an MSRP of $65,535?

Also - I am way under my 36K mileage on my current 328i lease - only used about 18,500 miles. What kind of credit on my unused miles should I expect on this deal?

Thanks in advance for any info!

We ended up with this deal. Not quite as much off MSRP as I would have liked but we were able to keep the base MF rate and the dealer was extremely easy to work with. I will not be going back to our local dealer again if we decide to buy another BMW in the future, well worth the three hour drive.

    MSRP $75,160
    Sales Price $68,983
Rebates: $1,500 (lease cash and fleet)
    Doc Fee: $150
    Acq Fee $925
Cap Cost: $68,714 (rebates are taxed in WA)
    MF: 0.00166
    RV: 59% ($44,344)
    Payment: $864.61 + tax ($954)
Down Payment: $1,800 (first payment plus DMV)

Thank you for all your help, we love it.

Shoot for 6% off MSRP, before deducting incentives.

I'm not sure that BMWFS has any program to credit you for unused miles, but check with your dealer.
