Any updates on the program changes? From what I saw yesterday there was no clarity on new program for 2018 xDrive35i. Am I getting it correctly:
    $3000 credit
    .00152 MF
    59/58/56 RV (10/12/15K)

They are in business to make money.

Also, I don't know that they had $3000 last month on the 2018 models. We didn't have that information.

$3K last month and this month is only on 2018 40e model. No credit on 2018 x35i. However there is $3k lease credit on MY17 x35i and $6k on 2017 40e.

We didn't show $3000 on any 2018 X5 other than the 40e model, last month.

    No idea - what state?

MSRP and selling price / adjusted cap cost?

State is NJ, MSRP is $69,700 and I think the sale price was around $62,300. There is no cap cost, just fees and taxes upfront. Although I will most likely roll the tax in, why pay 3 years upfront if I don't have to. With tact comes to $815 per month.
Could you please send me an email or private message which dealer did you get this from? That's a nice discount!

59% for 36/10. Looks like residuals have dropped for the X5

Thanks yes, it dropped a LOT.
    Wasn't 10k/36mo on 35i was 62% just last month?
So now 2018 is 59%, and MF is still 0.00152 for 36/10k?

It seems I got numbers crossed in my records.
    Just to be sure,
    2018 X5 10/36 is 59%, 0.00152, right?

How is this deal? Am I really getting 9.5% off MSRP including 1500 incentive? (7% to 7.5% off MSRP minus $1500 Rebate)

    VEHICLE: 2018 BMW X5 xDrive35i
    COLOR: Black
    UPHOLSTERY: Black
    MSRP Base Price $59,250.00
    ZMP M Sport Package 4,350.00
    4UB 3rd Row Seat + Rear Axle Susp 1,700.00
    Metallic Paint 550.00
    Dakota Leather Upholstery 1,450.00
    Destination and Handling 995.00
    TOTAL AS EQUIPPED $68,295.00
    SELLING PRICE $63,100.00

Lease Terms Lender BMW Financial Services Term
    36 Months Mileage 10,000/year
    Money Factor 1.52
    Residual Factor 59%
    Selling Price $63,100.00
    Cap Reduction Tax (8.625%) $2,643.15
    Bank Fee $925.00
    Capital Reduction $1,500.00
    Total Capitalized Cost $65,168.15

    Residual Value $40,294.05
    Total Depreciation $24,874.10
    Monthly Depreciation $690.95
    Monthly Finance Charge $160.30

    Monthly Payment $851.25

    Capital Reduction $1,500.00
    Up Front Tax (8.625%) $129.38
    Documentation Fee $97.50
    First Payment $851.25
    Security Deposit $0.00
    Drive Off $2,578.12
    Rebate $1,500.00
Due at Signing $1,078.12 + DMV

I get exactly 849 using my home-made excel sheet, which is close enough. This means if I pay 950 bank fees down (total about $2000 down) monthly would be $820/mo for $68295 vehicle?

    Thanks in advance.

    I confirm 59% and .00152.

With those prices, I get the exact same payment - $851.25.

We'd suggest you limit the up front cash to just the first payment and DMV costs - roll the acquisition and doc fees into the lease payment.

Thanks for the suggestion Michaell. Could you confirm if my estimate of 7.5% on top of $1500 rebate is accurate?
The reason I am asking is because even though total discount is 9.5% off MSRP, I cannot use 9.5% OFF on a more expensive car since 1500 is constant and 7.5% is the discount.

So with exact same calculation, $72500 MSRP would be $865/mo in payments after 7.5% off and $1500 rebate?

It's a factory to dealer incentive that can be used to lower the selling price.

    Is 1500 x3 loyalty rebate?

    Anyone who buys an X5.

Nothing to do with X3, it's not loyalty rebate, it's incentive.

Amazing, my calculator is working! I am getting $797.66 before taxes, and total (with taxes on payments in NYC) I am getting $872.33/mo. What's worst though, this could have been $810 to anyone who sealed the deal in September before the residuals took a tumble in october.. Sigh--

Im wondering why one should roll in the acquisition/doc/taxes into lease payment as it increases the cap cost/money factor charge. Can you please explain that? Thanks

If the car is stolen or totaled before the end of the lease, those prepaid monies will be lost .... you think the state will refund you the prepaid sales tax?

Looking to see if I am getting a good deal on a 2018 X5 5.0. State of IL

Total Sale price including doc, taxes and fees is $104,434.63.
This also includes a $4,000 savings ($2,500 discount off MSRP, and $1500 Rebate) .

    Lease offer:
    24 mos / 15k miles
    $0 Down $1,897
    $2,500 Down $1,787
    $5,000 Down $1,678

    36 mos / 15k miles
    $0 Down $1,546
    $2,500 Down $1,471
    $5,000 Down $1,397

Residual value 2 year lease is 62% and 3 year lease is 56% / Money Factor is .00192

I need a high milage lease since I do drive a lot.

The discount of $2500 seems low for 100k vehicle. I would push for at least $10k off see what they say. (or ask if they can do 7.5% off MSRP + $1500 rebate)

    What is the MSRP?

Would this be the City of Chicago?

MF is marked up the max - .00152 is the base rate, this month.

    7% off sticker, before incentives.

    Michaell,

    Thanks for your response.
    What is the MSRP?
MSRP is $100,825 (however some of the options picked were redundant, so I will have the dealer redo the numbers)

Would this be the City of Chicago?
Car will be registered in a suburb of Chicago - Will County

When you say .00152 is the base rate, what does that mean? Is that the best rate anyone with best credit can quality? or is that a ceiling and you can negotiate it further down?

    Kenny_h,
Yeah, this was just a starting quote. Still have to negotiate with the dealer. I just wanted to know how much lower to go.

.00152 is the best rate for top tier credit

City of Chicago has their own tax structure for leases - makes the payment very expensive.

Seems to be in the ballpark.

Here are some updated numbers. Let me know what you guys think.

    2018 BMW X5 5.0

    MSRP: $97,075
    Discount $4,075
    Sale Price: $93,000
    Lic and Title Fees: $221
    Doc Fees: $172.15
    Estimated Cap Taxes: $3,107
    Lease Acquisition Fee $925
    Gross Cap Cost $97,331
    Rebate: $1,500
    Net Cap Cost $95,831

    2 year lease 15k/yr.
    RV 62%
    MF 0.00192

Monthly Payment $1,785. First Payment: $2,178 (includes Lic, Title, and Doc Fees).

I asked for 8% below MSRP and a MF of .00152, but the dealer is turning down my offer of the MF. They might come down some more on the Sale Price.

If there is a better deal out there, I would like to get a quote from a dealer. .

The two year lease is not going to be cost-efficient. The 36 month residual is just 6% lower and will really drop the payment.
You need a bigger discount and the base money factor (as you noted)

Hi there, working with a dealer in the Seattle area. I noticed above that there was a mention of a $1500 rebate on a 2018 X5d. Is that still the case? The dealer said there was no such thing. Also, I asked for a 7.5% discount and they are only offering about 3.8% on an order but they are honoring 0.00152 and 59% for 36/10. I am going to try to push back on the discount. Thanks!

    MSRP: $74,060
Cap Cost: $71,300 (-1,000 Fleet Discount)
    Payment before tax: $939
    Only Inception fees/First payment down.
(My offer was Cap Cost: $68,505 less $1,000 Fleet and $1,500 Rebate if it exists).

The $1500 is not valid for leases, just purchase.

    .00152 and 59% are correct.

Dealers are becoming more savvy on lease negotiations - you can either get a big discount in price but an inflated MF, or the base MF and a smaller discount.

You'll have to run the numbers both ways, to see which results in the better deal.

    Michaell,
My dealer offered $1500 discount on lease to me on top of % off MSRP. Maybe because I am a returning X5 owner?

I got another quote from a different dealer, however, I am not able to reconcile these numbers:

    BMW X5 5.0

    MSRP: $97,075
    Sale Price: $91,911
Rebates: $2500 ($1500 lease credit and $1000 for fleet)

    Net Cap Cost $90,336
Estimated Cap Taxes $3,834.94 for the 36/15k
    Lease acquisition fee $925

    36/15k/$0 down: $1390 per month.
    Money Factor: .00192
    Residual Value: 56%

Can someone please check? Is this a good deal? Also I know the Oct MF is 0.00152 and RV is 59%, however, for a 15k miles per year lease, doesn't the RV change? and hence the dealer quoted an RV of 56%?

What is the adjusted cap cost? Are you paying the taxes up front or adding them to the lease payment?

    MF is marked up.

56% is the correct 36/15 residual.

How much is due at signing?

    Hi Michael
I've got a pull ahead on X5 lease and got the following quote on the replacement, but it seems a bit out to me. I'd appreciate it if you could advise. Thanks

    2018 X35d
    MSRP $66260
    Sales price $61260 plus taxes

Incentives - fleet and loyalty $2500
    Discount - $2500

Cap reduction - $2500 (I said that I wanted $0 down, but this came through regardless)

    Rv - 59%
mf - .00157 - This is after applying full MSD reducing from .00192 - seems fully marked up

    Doc fee $299
    Acq. fee $925
    Reg fee $135

Comes out to $857 plus tax monthly
