I got another quote from a different dealer, however, I am not able to reconcile these numbers:

    BMW X5 5.0

    MSRP: $97,075
    Sale Price: $91,911
Rebates: $2500 ($1500 lease credit and $1000 for fleet)

    Net Cap Cost $90,336
Estimated Cap Taxes $3,834.94 for the 36/15k
    Lease acquisition fee $925

    36/15k/$0 down: $1390 per month.
    Money Factor: .00192
    Residual Value: 56%

Can someone please check? Is this a good deal? Also I know the Oct MF is 0.00152 and RV is 59%, however, for a 15k miles per year lease, doesn't the RV change? and hence the dealer quoted an RV of 56%?

What is the adjusted cap cost? Are you paying the taxes up front or adding them to the lease payment?

    MF is marked up.

56% is the correct 36/15 residual.

How much is due at signing?
Sorry if this a duplicate post..

Here are the details. Please let me know what you think. The dealer doesn't want to move on the MF.

    Hi Michael
The adjusted cap cost is $61260-$2500 cash down=$58760. I thought it more sensible not to roll the various fees into the lease.

Apparently they've just reintroduced the MSD but only for existing MSD holders, which I am, and the mf reduction has gone down to .00005.

I disagree - if the car is stolen or totaled, you won't get that up front money back. I suggest only the first payment and DMV or registration costs be paid at signing.

When I plug in those prices, I get $700/mo plus tax, even with the inflated MF (after MSD).

Save $30/mo by using the base MF (less MSD).

Thanks for the heads up on MSD - I wonder if the push back from existing clients was strong enough that they decided to reinstate it?

Thanks Michaell. I will build my own spreadsheet and revert back. Where can I find invoice pricing for the 2018 X5 5.0 and the available options? The dealer has offered me invoice+$175.

In addition, where can I get the amounts that the dealer gets back from the manufacturer?

Don't know if Edmunds has the numbers, yet. Use the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page to access Edmunds pricing tools.

Thanks Kyfdx. I was able to get the invoice numbers on Edmunds and on Nada website.

Any idea what the dealer incentives are for this car? i.e. what does the dealer receive from the manufacturer for the 2018 X5 5.0?

I should rephrase my question.... Since the dealer is selling the car to me at invoice minus additional rebates, ($2500), don't they get additional money back from the manufacturer? Can we not use that to negotiate the price down further?

I'm not aware of any other factory to dealer incentives.

We always suggest you target 7% off sticker, less incentives. If that results in the 'invoice' price, I'm not sure there is any more room.

But - if you don't ask, you don't get.

Hi Mods, I am coming off a BMW lease and interested in moving to a X5 35i Xdrive. Understanding the rv/mf is 59/.00152 I have a couple of questions: 1) I understand if you don’t ask, you don’t get and the recommendation here is shooting for 7% off msrp, would going beyond this to 10% be viewed as unreasonable? 2) Can you please confirm any current incentives to be mindful of? Are there any official loyalty discounts? I’ve been offered a $3,500 “dealer incentive” which I assume is just discguised as whatever discount they are willing to take off msrp.

    Thanks in advance!

We aren't aware of any lease incentives
    .00152 MF and 59% residual for 36/10.

I'd guess the $3500 "incentive" is just a discount. Before you start making offers, ask them what rebates from BMW that you might be eligible for. When I purchased last month, I was surprised by an extra $1000 rebate that I didn't know about.

Please explain how federal tax credits apply to a lease on a x5 e40. The total amount is $4688 and would it be reasonable to ask for the depreciation percentage portion of this -- i.e. residual value is 58% so 42% of the tax credit should be applied. This would be in addition to the $3000 lease cash incentive

Also, would be looking for verification on how much the monthly would be calculated at a 9.5% tax with $3000 lease back cash, MSRP $75k, purchase price of $67,576 with MF .00152 and residual of 58%. Thanks

Hi Micheal, One of the dealers was insisting that the base MF of 0.00152 was a buy rate hence they quoted me 0.00192. Not sure I believe him. I am wondering If the dealer gets anything by marking up the MF since the financing will be through BMW Financial anyway. Thoughts?

The bank gets the tax credit. Anything they pass along to you is in the form of a rebate (lease cash). So, no tax credit applied.

$750/mo.+tax, if the lease cash is in addition to the price quoted.
$838/mo.+tax, if the lease cash is already accounted for in that price.

Yes... the dealer makes more money if they markup your rate.
BMWFS gives them about 70% of the total difference, upfront.

    Hello,

I have a question in regards to BMW fees. I wanted to lease a retire service loaned 2017 BMW X5 3.5 xdrice. It includes $3000 lease credit. I told the sales man to break down the fees for me.

    3,000.00    Cap cost reduction
    $1,185.52    Upfront sales tax
    $537.76        Sales tax on rebate
    $479.00        First month payment
    $399.00        Dealer documentation fee
    $399.00        Secured Theft protection
    $99.00          Nitrogen in the tires
    $169.50        DMV Fee
    $925.00        Bank Fee

Is secured theft protection and nitrogen tires mandatory due at signing? And how does the sales tax on rebate work?

The doc fee, theft protection and nitrogen are $900 in garbage charges. Instead of trying to negotiate all that crap, just offer $1000 less on the selling price.
What is your state and tax rate? Rebates should be taxed at your local rate. That number looks to be too high for tax on $3000.

Based on the user ID, I'm guessing NY.

If that is true, $1185 doesn't look like enough tax. :worried:

For a 2017 X5 with an M Package listed at $70K how much % off MSRP is realistic? Anyone able to get some good deals out there? I can seem to get them to budge past 9%

    Hello,

I have a question in regards to BMW fees. I wanted to lease a retire service loaned 2017 BMW X5 3.5 xdrice. It includes $3000 lease credit. I told the sales man to break down the fees for me.

    3,000.00    Cap cost reduction
    $1,185.52    Upfront sales tax
    $537.76        Sales tax on rebate
    $479.00        First month payment
    $399.00        Dealer documentation fee
    $399.00        Secured Theft protection
    $99.00          Nitrogen in the tires

I've leased a 535 earlier this year and I've never heard about theft protection or nitrogen tires being required as signing . The client advisor did it based on NJ tax. The car is $57,000 (including $3,000 lease credit ).

Payment is $479 plus $3000 cap cost reduction and taxes and fees.

Michael, since when did they add extra fees of such at signing ? Fees don't make sense to me. And rebate.

Dealer can add whatever they want; you are, of course, free to reject them by walking.

And, there are no lease incentives on the 2018 X5; only the 2017.

    .00152 and 59% / 58%

Skip the lease end protection packages. Only the dealer benefits from them.

good point .. i suppose would just have to replace them or risk driving on them ... otherwise would renegotiate for a new lease and see if they would cover it

anybody have any expertise on canceling the policy?

Give the dealer a call and see if they are willing to re-write the contract without those charges.

Is this a good deal?  I don’t know the money factor, I could ask the dealer if needed. I was hoping to get closer to $650 all in monthly. I am qualified for fleet discount; however they would not apply it to this car for some reason. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

    2018 X5 s35, premium package

    MSRP - $59,095
    discount - ($5,914)
    rebate - ($2,000)
    phantom footprint - $150
    permaplate - $399
    total purchase price  - $51,729
    Electronic title - $49
    documenting -  689
    Tax - $3,672
    Fee - $42
    net price - $56,181.69

36 month, 10k mike, $798 all in monthly.

That looks like a purchase quote.

    What state?

I don't see the acquisition fee mentioned.

Considering a 36/12 lease on an '18 X5. I'm seeing 58/.00152, correct. Also, I asked this on the 540 thread, is it reasonable to expect the dealership to mark the MF up to .0017? Too much?

    Two more:
Is there any lease case, conquest, or loyalty money?
    Is a 7% discount on the 2018 X5 reasonable?

    THANKS

Personally, I wouldn't sign any lease deal unless I got the buy rate. But, that's just me.

$2000 lease credit on 2018 X5; no information on loyalty incentives

7% is a good target for any BMW. But, as I noted in the other thread, the focus is on clearing out remaining 2017 inventory, so discounts on the 2018 may not be as good.

Looking at a 36/12 lease for a 2018 X5e40. MSRP 70,685, dealer discount $4,289, rebates $6,000 for cap $60,396. Proc. doc fee's $630. Monthly payment $856 with nothing down than 1st payment. MF is marked up to .00182. Don't like to see the mark up, which basically adds $1,584 back to the purchase price, bringing the 6% discount down to 3.8%.

Does not look like a good deal yet, but appreciate any input...

If they give me the buy rate, I probably would bite on it. Any thoughts? Am I too greedy?
