Someone please help me understand this.

    MSRP 73020
    Gross Cap Cost 65678.4
    Sales Tax 353.26
    Cap Reduction 4041.6
    Net Cap Cost 61990.06

Trying to understand why cap reduction is 4041.6 (not 4000) and how the tax of 353.26 is calculated.

Tax is on the incentives and fees, if you're adding them to the cap cost.

You'll have to ask the dealer what the deal is with the cap reduction - might be left over amount from the total cash due.
How can I calculate the tax on this. $1500 fleet and $4000 rebate. Rate is 7%.
Are you sure fleet is $1500 ? not $1000 ?
We don't have info on the fleet incentives

OK, here is what I got from the dealer. A bit confusing...

    MSRP: 73,785; 7% off, MF 152, residual 59%, NJ tax - 6.875%

$869.36 - 1st months payment due at signing

Sale Price - $67,620.00 (includes 1K fleet discount)

    Inceptions capitalized in payment:

    $2,159.20 - NJ Sales Tax
    $925.00 - BMW Bank Fee
$304.50 - NJ Three year registration
    $8.95 - Titling Fee
    $6.00 - NJ Tire Tax
    $270.48 - NJ Luxury Tax
    $395.00 - Doc Fee
    $4,069.13 - Total

    $67,620.00 - Sale Price
+ $4,069.13 - Inceptions rolled into cap cost
    $71,689.13

    $71,689.13 - cap cost
    - $3,000.00 - Holiday Credit (applied as cap cost reduction)
    $68,689.13 - Net Cap Cost

    Kevin

    That looks to be exact.
No issues with any of that.
$395 doc fee is kind of a garbage fee, but typical for NJ dealers.
    Is Doc fee negotiable ?
Technically, yes, but it's likely easier to adjust your offer for the selling price to offset that charge.

Hi, could I please get the MF & RV on 2018 X5 xDrive35i in NY?

    Both 12,000 & 15,000 miles / 36 months.

What % off MSRP do you think is realistic?

Also, if you happen to know of any of the incentives they're currently offering, that would be very helpful as well.

    Thank you!

Hi, I just wanted to ask a follow-up question to one I asked yesterday:

Could I please get the MF & RV on 2018 X5 xDrive40e in NY?

    Both 12,000 & 15,000 miles / 36 months.

What % off MSRP do you think is realistic?

Also, if you happen to know of any of the incentives and/or "hybrid" rebates they're currently offering, that would be very helpful as well.

    Thank you!

Gentlemen, can I ask a quick question?
I have found a car at a dealer that is not exactly what I like but very close (it has 20in performance tires and I am not sure how safe they are for driving in NJ all year) and another dealer also tells me that I can still order a new car and get it before the end of the month which I do not quite believe.
If I order a new car and it arrives in January and incentives are worse than they are now - will all the December rebates and incentives be applied to me since I ordered it in December?

    Thank you,
    Kevin

Here is what the dealer offered me today on a new 2017 BMW X5 e40, 12/36 lease. Please let me know if this is a good deal or if I should demand more off the list price since I have seen other posts mentioning up to 9% off MSRP on X5 e40 leases:

    $72420 MSRP
    $70681 negotiated price
    $6000 holiday and e40 rebates
$1000 early lease inspection appointment credit
    $1000 fleet discount

    $925 acquisition fee upfront
$350 doc & plate fee upfront
    $2902 sales tax up front
$750 per month, 1st month payment due at signing

$4927 due at signing for acquisition, doc fee, 1st month payment, sales tax

Plus, dealer will waive my last 4 remaining lease payments and credit me $250 for being under my lease miles on my current X3 lease. These 2 items are not included in my numbers above

Does this sound lke a good deal or should I ask for 6-9% off the MSRP to reduce my negotiated price/lease payment?

    Please advise. Thanks!

I'd find it hard to believe that a factory order can be turned around in 3 weeks - though, the cars are built in SC. Could be a dealer trade - I'd ask the dealer.

For BMW, you can choose either the programs of the month when the order is placed or the month when delivery is made. But, you have to take the entire program - MF, residual and incentives. Can't mix and match.

I'd push for a bigger discount from sticker, before applying the incentives.

We'd suggest you roll in the acquisition, doc fee and sales tax into the lease payment.

    Michaell,

Thanks for your prompt response to my 2017 X5 e40 12/36 lease questions yesterday.

I have one follow up question as follows:

    1. You told me to push for a bigger discount from sticker before applying incentives on my deal. You told another person yesterday to ask for 7% off sticker before incentives on a 2018 X5 e40 lease. What percentage should I ask for given my X5 is a 2017?

    Sincerely,

    Bob

At least 7%; not sure how much more is available. Start where you think you're comfortable, but without insulting the dealer.

Is it a tax credit or additional cash off the MSRP?

    Hi.

I live in the state of Georgia USA. Can you experts help my new lease numbers? Which dealership in GA provide the best lease deals for you if you have leased before?

    Looking at: 2018 BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance or (35d with 3rd row)
    RV: 36 Mon / 15K
    MF
    Rebates
    Incentives

Do I contact the dealership asking for a lease quote first and then negotiate the numbers?
This is my first time leasing and I've read some posts here but still wonder what else I need to know how to get a great deal?

Plus when is the best time to lease? I plan to lease around Valentines' Day or should I lease now?

    Thanks for all your help!

Start your research with the articles at this link:

    https://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/

Hold off on leasing in GA until after the first of the year; the laws regarding sales tax for leases is going to change, and will make your lease payment smaller.

Just got a call from my dealer that they are offering an extra $1,000 "Holiday Cash" but in order to get it, I need to take delivery of the car before the end of the month. He said they will do a "swap" to make it happen. What is a "swap"? How does it work?

    Here are the details:

    2018 x5 xDrive 35i with M and Executive package, MSRP: 73,810
    7% off MSRP
    .0152 MF
    59% residual (10k/36mo)
    3,000 Rebate
    1,000 Fleet
    1,000 Holiday Cash
    NJ Tax 6.875%

Bottom line: $828/mo with $1,500 out of pocket.

Does this look like a good deal?

    Thank you,

They trade one of their X5s with a nearby dealer for the X5 you want.

Yes, that looks like a fair deal.

For anyone living in NY check out the Drive Clean Rebate program if you're going with the X5 40e. Unlike the federal non-refundable tax credit this rebate goes to the lessee if you do a 36 month lease. It's a point of sale rebate in that it comes right off the agreed upon selling price (the dealer gets the money back from the state so as I understand it the rebate does not impact their bottom line.) The X5 40e qualifies for $500 off. Check to see if your dealer participates in the program (the information is on the programs website.)

Thanks for this great resource. It's been really helpful over the years.

    I received this deal yesterday:

    MSRP: $66,135
    Initial Cap Cost: $60,750
    Rebate: $6000
Adjusted Cap Cost: Don't remember the exact figure, but $55,xxx after DMV and most likely some BS fees.
Previous lease also qualified for 3 months of lease payments waived.
    Downpayment: $2000
    MF: .00192
    Residual: 59%
    Terms: 10k/yr for 36months
Monthly Payment after 9.25% local tax: $700.82

I knew the MF was marked up, but they didn't seem to want to budge on that, so probably left some money on the table there, but overall, was good enough to make me go for it. I'm sure theres a better deal out there, but colors and inventory on these are getting limited in the Bay Area.

    Hope this helps.

    They said its 56MPG

someone reported that they almost went 1300 Miles in a single tank - but definitely over 800 miles is the norm.

Money factor is marked up from .00152
4.4% discount is not that great. Should be looking for 6%-7%, before the rebate.

To get that payment, you need a CAP cost of about $61,300.
About $2100 more than your (selling price minus rebate).
Since you have $1500 upfront, I'd want to know what is included in the $2100.

I get $892/mo.+tax, if the agreed value = adjusted CAP cost.
But, that doesn't account for the $3000 lease credit. Do you have the adjusted CAP cost?
