Hi, I was looking at 2019 X5s but at the dealer today in Southern California I test drove a great 2018 X5 50i and the salesperson said they are aggressively trying to move them. I was quoted 59% RV and .00202 MF for 36/10 - can someone please confirm and also provide me with 36/12?

I feel like for 800+ FICO maybe the MF is too highl? The MSRP is $85,245 and they are offering the car to me for $74,925 (salesperson told me there may even be some room to go). Look forward to feedback on this. Thank you!!! Zip is 90025

.00182 is the base MF; dealer is marking it up to claw back some of the discount from sticker.

The math is correct.

You want to target 7% (or more, if you're feeling lucky) off MSRP. At the moment, you're at 4.1%

Lower selling price and base MF are the only negotiation points for you.

Hi!  Can you help me with the November MF and RV for a 2018 X5 xDrive35i for 36/10 in 11215?  

Also, I am interested in BMW’s one pay /single pay lease option but I don’t see it discussed much in this forum.  Is there a corresponding base MF for this lease type?  Dealer suggested the one pay lease when I inquired about security deposits (apparently not allowed in NY).  Anyway, just trying to figure out if the one pay lease makes any economic sense.

based on how i calculated, these are my numbers

Residual = 33972
Out of pocket for 36 Months = 23607 (655 a month)
Interest = 91552(Residual + Sale price) * .00182= 166
Total=821

Even the sales TAx does not look right.

I agree with the payment on the 2019 model, but for the 2018, I get $735/mo

That's a lot of up front cash - in NJ, you are taxed on the sum of the payments, collected up front. You can (and should) add that to the selling price and make it part of the monthly payment. Same with the non-government fees (doc and bank fees). Only out of pocket should be first payment and registration costs.

It could be advantageous to lease a loaner, if the discount is big enough.
The best deals are on units with under 5000 miles, because at 5K miles+, you lose the incentives and the residual drops precipitously.

$3500 incentives (FOR LEASING)
$6000 incentives (FOR BUYING)

.001825 MF, $46k residual - 3 yr/15k miles

They even showed me monthly payments based on money down, $10k, $15k, and $20k down...(yikes). What should I do? Negotiate the price down more since it's a loaner, or lower the amount down?

15% off on a service loaner is a good discount - more if you feel aggressive.

In no particular order:

1. There is no lease incentive on the 2018 X5, for November
2. MF is marked up from the base rate of .00182; that is adding about $25/mo to the payment
3. Subtract $1025 from the calculated residual for the demo miles (that is the adjustment you allude to)

I get $801/mo with those numbers. Ask the dealer for the specific CAP cost they are using for their quote; might be some more fees added in there that haven't been disclosed.
