Just received an email with a PO quote of $34,000 OTD for a 2018 2.0 Touring Pearl White with black interior. It also includes tinted windows, cargo tray, wheel locks, splash guards, and nitrogen in the tires. NC sales tax 3% at $996.67, tags and title $89.00, dealer admin fee $649.00. Is this a good deal?

Which dealership was that, if you don't mind my asking? I'm in NC too, and I'll be in the market for a 2.0T Touring this summer.

$4k off of msrp for the just introduced 2018 Accord Hybrid seems like a great deal to me. Congrats! How do you like it so far compared to your Audi?

    Hi Benjaminh -

I haven't purchased it yet, the first dealer gave me 3K off the MSRP from the start. I'm still doing my research, I think I can get a better offer on my trade-in. I've called many dealers some are willing to beat the price, some are not. The last I got was this for 4K off. I did a test drive this past weekend and loved it, the car is beautiful, smooth and the technology is a plus, I also can't wait to make the trade and stop paying premium gas for my Audi.

    Hey guys,
I need your suggestions. What do you guys think of this deal. I am getting a Honda Accord 2018 Sport 1.5T for $27,740 OTD. Now when I say OTD this mean taxes, doc fees, license and interest included. I'll be making a down payment of $5000 and pay $379 monthly for 60 months. This deal includes a dealer installed remote engine start and a pro package. which comes with trunk tray. pin stripes, splash guards and wheel locks. Let me know what you guys think. I need to make a decision soon. Thanks

I’m about to get basically the same deal. Mine is about 400 better than yours. I had to look back at loan calc to see interest. I’ve worked for almost 2 weeks and this is the best deal I’ve come up with. I’m about a week away from purchase and will update with all specs. But options seem the same and car is same trim. After many emails 25.3 OTR is the best I can come up with. I am going to try and get black sport grille added for that price and if so will definitely pull the trigger. I’ve hit up all KY dealers as well as TN. For now this seems to be around the best price available. That 25k seems to be the magic number.

To all who are waiting like me for bigger discounts on 2018 Accords. Last week I was on the lot @Auto-Sport Honda in NJ . @brian125 gave me the name of the GM there to speak to if I went there to buy. Auto-sport MGR. did confirm Accord sales were down big this year and he was expecting a end of summer fire sale to deplete Accord stock . Going to wait a few more months myself , unless I can steal loaded 18 Camry from one of the P.A dealers . Has anyone else talked to a Honda dealer recently.

Thoughts or help is appreciated.. tks John

What is the price breakdown? Sale price? Doc fees? Cost of all these accessories?

I am from NJ also and in the past week I got 2 quotes, both were the same as the quotes I got in april and more than the quotes I got in feb and march probably because in feb and march there was flexcash included. I would suggest that you check prices in eastern Pa as NJ dealers tend to pile on a lot of addons and the doc fee in Pa is around 141 while in NJ they can get up to 399.. a big difference. I agree mid to end of summer might be the best deals. I thought with the decline of sedans and and the corporate tax breaks would lower prices but I was wrong. Maybe the higher gas prices will bring sedans back

I agree that the biggest deals to be had on the Accord will probably be towards the end of the summer (in Q3), when the 2019 models start arriving.

I have not spoken to any dealers lately, but pricing has not improved this month. Those looking to buy soon should wait till Memorial Day weekend. However, since it does not appear there is Flex Cash available this month, I would wait until that extra $1k is available to buy. HFS' interest rates improved from a couple months ago, but there is no 0.9% financing being offered. The current offers on the Accord sedan are 1.9% (24-36 months) and 2.9% (37-60 months).

Here in MA, pricing on the Touring 2.0T is hovering around $31.8k. That is not bad for a close to $37k car, but that is only about $1700 below invoice. After doc fees, that drops to about $1300 - $1400 below invoice. For me to buy, the price has to drop or hover around $31k in a couple of months and the interest rate has to be more aggressive. Time will tell whether that will be attainable.

The 0.9% does help with 2 kids and limited cash. I think regardless where ever pricing lies in a few months I'm pulling the trigger and not looking back. To save $500/ 800 more dollars to drive vehicle in DEC is pointless. I also have no problem buying in MA..............tks blue for price break down

I agree with you a 100%. Let me add to your comment. If you (folks looking to buy) are able to land a great deal at the end of this month, then there is no need to wait another month. Another thing to remember is that, as we get closer to the end of the year, inventory for 2018 models will start getting low. I will be monitoring pricing over the next couple of months, and I hope to make a decision by then. I've been looking at the Acura TLX A-spec given the lease and finance incentives being offered, but 2018 models are hard to find. 2019 models have already started arriving on dealer lots.

Good luck to anyone buying this month. If you are in the northeast and need the name of a few dealers in MA, let me know.

Have you been in the 2018 Camry? It's nice enough, but it's really a smaller vehicle on the inside. The back seat of the Camry is more like the size of the Civic, which was shocking to me. The Camry and Accord used to be almost exactly the same size on the inside, but not any more.

The 2018 Accord is really a better car in most ways, I think. It has more room, more power, a nicer interior, more features, etc.

One thing the Accord has that the Camry lacks in and of itself decides the issue for me, and that's this: you can't get AndroidAuto/CarPlay on a Camry for love or money. Toyota has its own system, which is just not as good.

I do think Accord prices will drop somewhat sometime in July. But even if you can't wait that long imho the Accord is worth paying more for. Just my 2 cents.

I sat in an Accord today--- was considering one-- but I have to believe the buyers are age 50 or below, because the car sits so low it should come with two jacks-- one to lift the car to fix a flat, and one to lift us older folks out of the driver seat to a standing position. Am I nuts? Is there any one older than 50 who's purchased this car?

I got a 2018 Sport 1.5T for $25,400 OTD. No added dealer packages. I live in Orange County, Ca with a tax rate of 7.75%. How’d I do?

I'm 53. Seemed ok to me in terms of height and seating position. If and when I buy it would be my family's 5th Honda Accord.

I am a current Accord owner..2012 exl and I have no problem getting in and out so I am definitely getting an 18 Touring. 2 weeks ago I wanted to make my final decision on the powerplant so I test drove the 2.0T and the hybrid and while there I tested the CRV. I could get in and out of the CRV but was a bit too high climbing in. Maybe the CRV would be better for you or there are plenty of choices out there. I am 64 and disabled and the accord touring 1.5T fits me well but will take some getting used to all the technology

How do you determine invoice price on a car?

And how is this deal in Seattle?

    2.0T Sport:
    Sale price: $27,985
    OTD price: $31,518

Tax is 10% and doc/registration fees are $650 (included in the OTD price)

I think TrueCar shows the invoice price.

TrueCar or CarGurus list the invoice price of cars. CarGurus lists the invoice price of the 2.0 Sport at $27,721. So if you're being quoted $27,985 before any fees and TTL, that is above invoice price and not a good deal at all. I would look around or try to bring that down below invoice.

Hi everyone! I commented back in March about getting an Accord. (NEWBIE)
I have a random question about financing. If Honda is advertising the 1.9% & 2.9% for the respective terms, does that mean, there is no way people can get the 0.9% (like if you have good credit, is the 2.9% for the people with really good credit?)?
I've read about the APR vs $1200 rebate, so I know that APR cost can be countered with a bigger discount (is that's possible).
This is the last month for me to use the college graduate $500, but there is also no flex cash available.
Are these incentives stack-able? Or is it a one or the other kind of deal?
I wanted to pull the trigger during the Memorial Day holiday, but it doesn't seem like there is much of a difference in discounts, at least according to the forum.
I am flexible with time, but I wasn't sure if I should just get the car this month while I have the college discount, or I will get a better deal during the next holiday "sale".

Also, random question. I did look at the Honda website to look at the differences, but is there a significant difference between the sport 2.0 and the EXL? (I wanted the two tone seats, but earlier in the year, the car salesman told me that the sport didn't have the moonroof. I recently saw a Youtube video that showed a 2.0 version that had both the two tone seats AND moonroof, so I've kind of switched boats. They aren't too different price-wise, so I was wondering if there were any noticeable differences between the two trims. I saw the 10 speed auto vs CVT too).

Thanks for any input. I'm in socal, so we have a million Honda dealers. I wasn't sure if I should get started with the emails.

Market rate interest for a car loan right now is c. 4-6%. 2.9% is a rate the Honda subsidizes for people with excellent credit for a 60 month loan on the Accord.

If you want 0.9 on a Honda sedan, I think it's only available on the Civic, and only available for 36 months.

The $500 college rebate can be used with the 2.9.

As you say, the msrp of the Sport 2.0 with the 10 speed at $31,200 is almost the same as the msrp of the 1.5T EXL, which is $30,860. As you also say, both have sunroofs.

To state the obvious, the Sport 2.0 is more like a real sport sedan, and close to the performance, size, and features of a BMW 530i, but for c.$25,000 less. The Accord Sport has larger performance tires and a tighter suspension than the Accord EXL, as well as some nice aesthetic touches like metal pedals, special alloy wheels, chrome exhaust tips, etc..

The EXL is a bit more luxurious, and is also going to save you money on gas—probably about $350 a year compared to the 2.0. You are also almost certainly going to pay more for car insurance for the Sport 2.0.

EXL features that the Sport doesn't have include things like memory power front leather seats, 450-watt stereo with 10 speakers, more sound insulation for a quieter ride, etc.

Both models have their advantages, but if you want a real performance car the 2.0 is obviously what you are looking for.

Living in LA, as you say, you have tons of Honda dealers to choose from. You might be able to get c. $4000 off of msrp by emailing multiple dealers for their lowest price.

Please let us know what happens and how you like whatever car you get!

I purchased a 2.0 EX-L on Feb 28 in Seattle, WA for $32000 OTD. This includes title, tax, registration, doc fee and the car came eith wheel locks and mudguards. If i had negotiated more, could've gotten it for $31k.

Use trucar, costco car buying service and be sure to contact multiple dealers. I got mine from klein Honda. Autonation in Renton isnt too bad either, from what ive heard.

@gzbcl88 - I wanted to add to what has already been said. From Honda's Financial services website, the $500 college grad rebate expires on 3/31/19. To my knowledge, it has been around for a while. It was available more than 5 years ago when I bought my Accord. So no need to rush and buy a car, unless you need one or are getting a great deal on it.

As for APR vs rebate, to my knowledge, Honda is not offering any other incentives on the Accord apart from the college grad and military rebate. If you are referring to Flex cash, when it was available, the $1000 incentive from Honda can be used with the lowest APR offer being offered at the time. You can wait and see if it is available next month, but who knows. If you are looking to see whether Honda will offer 0.9% financing, you might have to wait till after 7/5/18. The current finance offers expire then, but Honda could extend these same offers. However, no one knows.

Regarding two tone seats; I do not believe the Accord offers that option. It could be dealer-installed or after market two tone seats. I would have loved to see an option for red leather seats in the Touring model, but that option is not available/offered by Honda from the factory.

    Good luck with your search.

The 500 college rebate is for people that graduated within the last 2 years or will graduate within 6 months, I think that is why his time is running out

can you dbl check to make sure deal looks good. I’ve worked for a week to get to here. Thanks for your time. I just need another set of eyes to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Appearance package is trunk mat, all weather floor mats, wheel locks, notrogen tires, and splash gaurds. Not a huge selling point and overpriced I know, but from what I’ve seen 25k on the road isn’t horrible.

You made a good deal in your area for May. After subtracting the $495 doc fee & BS dealer Appearance pck priced at $1495.

Your deal was..... (depending how you look at the App. pck pricing).... $1794 below Invoice. The dealers invoice price on App. pck is at best 500 dollars, That's how I'm gauging your deal....

Congrats, Good luck with Accord .

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. Glad to have more eyes check over the paper work. And it was a tough deal to narrow but they were the most active with email responses. Most other dealers wouldn’t even respond with anything after a generic initial reply.

Buying the 2018 Camry with the 1k in saving upfront wont be worth the satisfaction of passing up this new Accord model.

I sat in an Accord today--- was considering one-- but I have to believe the buyers are age 50 or below, because the car sits so low it should come with two jacks-- one to lift the car to fix a flat, and one to lift us older folks out of the driver seat to a standing position. Am I nuts? Is there any one older than 50 who's purchased this car?

ral2167 Yes, I'm 6'3" & 71 years old, and I bought a Touring CVT on April 27. I'm moving up from a 2013 Accord. I find the approximately 1 inch difference almost insignificant, but over time as my bad knees get worse I suppose it could become more noticeable. Otherwise the only height difference I notice is that the door window ledge on the 2018 is higher than the 2013, making it more difficult to look cool as I'm tooling down the parkway. B)B)

MSRP for this car is $36,690. Invoice price is $33,618. So your quote is terrible. BTW, what do you mean by $500 delivery fee? The MSRP and Invoice price I noted include the $895 destination and handling fee from Honda. You also need to factor in any dealer doc fees. So there is a lot of room for better pricing. Reach out to more dealers in your area.

I have decided that when I could get a better price on a 2018 Accord I will make deal . Going to scrap the Camry. drove my neighbors touring model for a hour yesterday on a road trip and really enjoyed it. I mean really....lol.... This accord is truly head and shoulders better than a Camry. Wish I could afford the touring model but the lower model will do me just fine
If pricing drops in MA please let us know in forum....tks john

Can one of the Car Gurus in this forum answer these question ?? If I buy or , lease out of my state does dealership register my car, or do I ? How bout sales tax? Can I pick up car same day I'm at dealership? are there added fee's from selling dealer out of state . Do I have to return vehicle back to the state I lease in? What if dealer from out of state tells me I need to come to dealership 1st ?

Is there anything I missed I need to know that I did not post, or know ?? tks john

Depends on the dealership. Some will contract with a 3rd party to handle the registration, others will send you the paperwork with a power of attorney to do it yourself.

Honda dealerships don't often get customers from very far away, so they may not be that helpful. How are you going to pickup the vehicle, if you don't go to the dealership? I doubt there is any way to save enough money to lease out of state, if you are going to pay for shipping.

    Which state are you in?

@kyfdx , I was figuring I could take Amtrak from NJ, one way pick up vehicle depending what state has better deal. Any Suggestions ? I'm not sure if I could pull this off...but . figuring a 1 way to Boston is 79 dollars and if I could do deal in same day drive home who's better than me if I save 800 to 1000 dollars more in the process. I know @brian125 makes it sound easy but were not him or as experienced at this. this is my 1st time buying a new vehicle. thanks again

Was it the 1.5 or 2.0T Touring model? What trim are you looking at? I have not contacted any Honda dealers this month. I do not plan to. I might reach out to a few next month about pricing.

Here are some dealers you could reach out to:
    • Honda Cars of Boston (Lowest doc fees of $298)
    • Honda Gallery
    • Honda North
    • Kelly Honda
    • Herb Chambers Honda
    • Boch Honda
    • Honda Village
    • Cambridge Honda
    • Atamian Honda
As a reminder, the best offer I had received last month on the Touring 2.0T without negotiating was about $31.8k. So there is room for maybe an additional $800 to $1k off. If Flex cash becomes available next month, then I would recommend anyone on the fence to make their best deal then.

I have never bought of out state so I have no clue. My only advice is to work with your local dealers first and see if you can get a good deal on the sport in NJ. However, if you are able to get at least an additional $1k off from a dealer in MA (vs dealers in NJ), make sure you put down a deposit ($500 refundable deposit via credit card as a commitment) and have everything in wiring before making the trip. DO NOT work with Prime Honda. They are one of the worse Honda dealerships to deal with. They will bait and switch you in no time.

    Good luck with the search.

MSRP for the Sport 1.5T is $26,670. Invoice is $24,479.
MSRP for the Sport 2.0T is $31,200. Invoice for that model is $28,611.

I would suggest aiming for around $1500 below invoice before doc fees. I am not sure what the market is like in NJ, but it is a worth a shot.
