@Greg285, I'm not sure where pricing lies in GA but that's not a problem. (2k to 3k below invoice is where I would be looking this month ) I'll explain below what you should do. Yes when talking or emailing dealers include the $895 dest / fee. Make sure both dealer and you are on same page pricewise. Ask each dealer there doc fee charge. Whatever your targeted dealers doc fees are include them into your below invoice asking price so its a wash at the end.

    EXL 1.5 Invoice = 27,410 + 895 = 28,305 minus 2k = 26,305 minus doc fee = ?...... that number would be your target price to buy @2k below invoice .

Before you decide if 2k below invoice is ROCK bottom from your area I would start on the 3rd week Sept. go thru dealers websites find your model and ask for a E-price / dealers best offer before you decide on any target price.

One thing that I’ve also noted and that may benefit me.  On Cars.com, I did a search for New 2018 Honda Accord, and what I noticed is, the count of available(inventory) 1.5t Touring trim represents the largest percentage(23.2%) of Accords.  This is based off a 100 mile search radius from zip 07481. Though not sure how accurate and up to date Cars.com is.
The over abundance of the 1.5 touring is probably figured into the extra 1000 incentive they offer and not sure if it is bieng figured into your pricing. Another detail that might help you is that the sales numbers this year for the accord are the worst in the last 4 years. I personally hope you do pull the trigger cause the touring 1.5 that I have is awesome to drive and the toys it has makes it a joy to drive http://carsalesbase.com/us-car-sales-data/honda/honda-accord/
I will pull the trigger soon.  Today I spoke with an old friend of mine that happens to be a sales manager at Honda of Nanuet, and he gave me an aggressive OTD quote ($30,5XX).  I’ll post the numbers in detail once I sign.

This car will be for my wife, not really for me (I have a 2017 Q60 Red Sport).  She is currently driving a 2013 Prius, so this will be a HUGE step for her.

Forgot to add, he did say the price does include the flex cash. And the dealer is in NY, so the doc fee is $75.  DMV I believe he said was $190ish, but would need to confirm that once everything is finalized.  We were talking specifically Out-the-door price cause afterall thats what really matters and by now I have a good handle where I wanna be.
So based on the fees and NJ sales tax, the sale price is right around $28,400

Again, once I sign on, I’ll share all the relevant numbers with ya’ll.

Thanks all for the extremely useful info in this forum. I'm looking to buy a 2018 1.5L Sport by the end of this month or next in or near Phoenix, Arizona. I've already gathered thanks to prior comments that invoice is $24,483 (including destination of $895) and a good target is $1,500 - $2000 below invoice.

Should Arizona's higher than average doc fees ($499 is what I'm seeing), affect my target price?

Does anyone have any experience with the Phoenix or Tucson Honda dealers? Any recommendations are appreciated.

Here's my current target price if I'm doing the calculations right:

    Accord Sport
    MSRP 26675
    Invoice 24483 (includes $895 destination)
    Minus -2000 (target off invoice)
    22483
Taxes 1896.09 (8.3% tax plus city tax of 0.3% on first $10k)
Total Fees 1024.1 (includes $499 doc)
    OTD 25,403

Thanks in advance for your help.

So, as of now, the best quote I’ve gotten is $6,150 off MSRP on a 1.5t Touring.  Supposedly, Garden State Honda can beat “ANY COMPETITORS PRICE QUOTE ON AN IN STOCK NEW VEHICLE AND WE WILL BEAT IT UP TO $500”

    So we’ll see about that.

Sounds like a lot of air from Garden State. Why can't they just offer you the best deal instead of playing these games? The magic word is "UP TO", so in theory they could offer you a price of $100 (or even $50) less than your best offer and it will count as beating the competition. Don't fall for their tricks.

@gdauti - What's the MSRP of the car you were quoted? Was it $26,675? Was the sale price $6150 off MSRP?
Does your sale price include $1000 Flex cash? Just want to make sure you are not been taken for a ride.

Yes, quote has $1500 for that line item.

I think I’m satisfied with this deal.  I’m planning to put $10,000 down and finance the rest; monthly payments will come out to $370/month for 60 months (2.9% APR).

Thats great news if dealers are offering the 1500 flex cash. Can anyone else confirm this? dealerships with 100 plus accords will sell them 3x as fast .

I think this is made up of the 1000 that has been available to the touring 1.5 and a few other select trims. @gdauti was fortunate to have a close friend at a dealership to make this great deal

Invoice for this car is $31,794. Your sale price before incentives is at about $2k below invoice. With the $1500 Flex cash, it brings it at $3500 below invoice. I would jump on it.

Will do.  Just waiting on the pending sale with Vroom for the wife’s Prius.  Once that happens, we’ll be picking up the Accord.

I was quoted 22780 prior to TTL for a 1.5 Sport. They also extend bumper to bumper to 4yr/50k.  What do you think?  Other than 1.5 Touring do you know what other trim levels the $1500 flex cash is offered on?

    It's probably just $500 flexcash

There is an additional $1000 incentive on:

    1.5 EXL
    1.5 EXL NAV
    1.5 Touring
    2.0 EXL
    2.0 EXL NAV

Yea, $3500 below invoice is as good as I’ve seen.  Also, the Doc Fee in NY is $75 as opposed to NJ which I’ve seen range from $399 to $599.  So buying in NY will save buyers at least $325.

I can't seem to do any better than 22780 on a 1.5 Sport in my area.  At least I can get the addition year of the warranty for free.

I've been working with a couple AZ dealerships asking for an Accord EX-L 1.5 for $24,500 including destination. No bites yet, but I think that price can be had, especially when the 2019 models hit. What do you all think?

You may lose out on a choice color but you will save money waiting . Email more dealerships it will help u . I used 100 dealerships to my advantage waited 5 months spanned 5 states for a best price and used advice given in this forum . It works! very important Buy at the very end of the month. Dealer pricing gets better at the end. I let all my target dealerships know x price gets the deal done. every month when a dealer emailed me i reminded them x price i buy today. since your willing to wait a few more months it should pay off, I'm not sure where 24,5oo puts you in the below invoice price range , but there is a 1000 incentive on your model and a possible finance / flex cash incentive of 500. You need to ask each dealer about any finance or flex cash?

In a few weeks the free trial of XM on my new accord will expire and I want to keep it. I have never subscribed and the current offers are 30 for 6 months or 99 for 1 year plus taxes and fees. Should I sign up in advance or let it expire to get better rates? I have heard that the subscription and the fees are negiotiable. I would like to get a longer deal but not if it will cost a lot more but willing to reup every 6 months if necessary. Thanks

You won't do better than the $30 for six months.. (About $37 w/fees and taxes)

Be prepared to spend an hour on the phone at the expiration of six months to get a better deal (otherwise, $15/mo).

I just did this myself, for my wife's car.

I believe before it expires, you will receive offers in the mail for either a 5 or 6 month subscription for about $30 (I do not remember exactly). If you do not get any such offers, let it expire and call them up. They might even call you. Do not go for the 6 month $99 deal. They have better deals available, as long as you know how to play the game. I have been on a promo offer for the past couple of years (re-upping every 6 months or so). If you log into your account, you might see a promo offer that is better than the $99 deal.

Here is one offer I saw today for returning customers:
Offer Details: Activate a semi-annual Select subscription and pay $29.94 for your first 6 months, a savings of 68% off the current monthly rate of $15.99, plus get free activation (an additional $15 savings). Fees and taxes apply. Service will automatically renew monthly thereafter (if on credit card) or every 6 months thereafter (if on invoice), and you will be charged according to your chosen payment method at then-current rates. To cancel you must call us at 1-866-635-23491-866-635-2349. See our Customer Agreement for complete terms at www.siriusxm.com. All terms, fees and programming subject to change. This offer cannot be combined with any other. Offer good only on any currently inactive radio.

I'm interested in the Accord Touring 2.0. msrp basically 35,998. what is a target price is should shoot for negotiating? 31,7xx? i'm hoping this time of year september may help with the negotiating and possibly waiting for EOM. Any thoughts?

Where are you located? San Antonio, TX? Have you reached out to dealerships in your area for pricing info? Have you found a vehicle (in your color combination) on a dealer's lot? You might be able to get at least $2k below invoice, but it will depend on your area's pricing and dealer inventory.

thanks for the quick response! Yes i'm in san antonio. I sent some feeler emails and got some calls. basically msrp of 35998 and he said they could go to 33,998. not sure if that included destination or not. just wondering if that was their bottom or if i had room to push more. i agree inventory and time of year will help with aggressive pricing offers.

I'm in western MA.  No other dealer has even gotten back to me when I asked them to beat this deal.   I do like the fact they will give me the extra year of warranty.  To me that's definitely worth some money.  I'm really surprised at the complete lack of counter offers.   In my area, the 1.5 Sport has the highest inventory.

Are you sure that is the correct MSRP (including the destination fee)? Ask the dealer. MSRP with destination for the Touring 2.0T is about $36,690. Go to Honda's website and build an Accord. It will show you the price of the car.
That is an awful deal. Invoice for this model is about 33,618. I would walk away from that dealership. I suggest waiting the last week of the month and start calling/emailing dealerships about pricing info. Then, the last 2 days of the month let them know you will buy today at say $2k below invoice before any incentives. Most dealers are not going to offer you their bottom pricing on the first email or call, and in the middle of the month. What are dealer doc fees in your area?

Hondas are reliable cars so getting that "extra year" of warranty is just a sales gimmick. I owned an Accord for 5 years and I had no issues with it. I did regular maintenance and oil changes and that's it.
Why are you asking other dealers to beat this deal this early in the month? You are just wasting your time, IMO. How many dealers are close to you? If you were closer to the Boston area, I would recommend Honda Cars of Boston in Everett. It is still early in the month, so I would suggest waiting the last week of September.
BTW, if that's the best offer you have at the end of the month, I would go for it. Good luck.

This is is a quote I received from DCH. I’m in North Carolina. This is about $2050 under invoice.

If I proceed with this deal, what should I expect? I’ve heard their fees are high but comparable to NC fees!

I feel I might I could get this deal here in NC. One dealer is offering 27600 locally!

I feel I might I could get this deal here in NC. One dealer is offering 27600 locally!
Does this price include any incentives? If you are not sure, ask the dealer.
No it does not include military or college grad incentives.

So from this email, it includes $1k in "loyalty" rebates. Still a great deal at $2k below invoice. What are the dealer doc fees?

I can't seem to do any better than 22780 on a 1.5 Sport in my area.  At least I can get the addition year of the warranty for free.
You are at about $1700 below invoice before any incentives and doc fees. You might be able to get an additional $300 off if you expand your search radius and wait till the end of the month/quarter. Where are you located? How many dealers have you reached out to? Put them on the spot and let them know what your BUY TODAY price is. Good luck.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hondas are reliable cars so getting that "extra year" of warranty is just a sales gimmick. Good luck.
I emailed Honda of Boston bc I saw a guy on another forum say he got a quote on a 2.0 Sport at 24600.  I never heard a peep from them.

Sorry to hear they did not get back to you. Was that an online price quote? As for the price someone else was quoted, it is hard to believe that price did not include any incentives.

My previous comment still stands. You are being robbed. Move on and reach out to as many Honda dealers in a 50 or 100 mile radius for online price quotes. Negotiate your best deal the last week and days of this month.

That alleged 24600 at Boston does almost seem impossible. Maybe the guy was just blowing smoke.  I asked him which salesman he dealt with but I never heard back.  It's getting tough to wait until the end of the month being down a car.

I was offered the following for a 2018 Hybrid.

    On an EX:
    MSRP: $29,745 YOUR PRICE: $26,386.66

    On an EX-L:
    MSRP: $32,355 YOUR PRICE: $28,718.34

On top of the "your price" they are charging tag, tax, a $205 electronic registration charge, and a $799 dealer fee. In FL every dealer charges a dealer fee so I'm going to try to push back somewhat on it to trim it down, and I need to find out what exactly the registration fee is for as all of that should be taken care of in the tag costs.

Aside from those fees, how does the discount seem? I know the hybrids are harder to come by and there isn't a ton of them in the dealers inventory around me (maybe 3-5 out of over 150 Accords on the lot).

Thanks Jersey. I'm here in NY. My neighbor boarded up a few windows for me , hoping we don't get much flooding. About 7pm on its expected to get bad in the myrtle beach area. I'm only 3/4 mile from the beach closer to surfside beach. I'm more worried about some of my neighbors who decided to stay.

Anyone buy in MA this month? If yes, post your deal. Curious about where pricing stands for a Touring 2.0T.

Boston Honda internet department emailed me back after I threw out a price and said their job is to assist me in my research, not sell me the car.  I asked them who I should email.... Crickets.

Lundgren in Auburn has been the only one to negotiate thus far.
