If not I would make the dealer at least match prices on below website. There not dealer invoice prices but close to if not lowest prices on the net.

Thank you Brian this is very helpful.
Accord 2018 ex-l 2.0T white w black interior.
Msrp 32860, with 1242 add-on alarm/door protect tint/wheel lock, CA tax 2900, doc fee etc.
Check from internet invoice 29235, not sure correct or not.
OTD 30660.
Offer 60m finance APR 2.9%.
If it is ok I will accept it this weekend.
I am in south CA.
Thanks all in advance.
Invoice for your model is $30,129 (which includes the $895 destination charge ) plus added accessories ($1242) .
What is the selling price of vehicle excluding tax $2900 & doc fee $80?
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
After confirm detail the dealer said this add-on must do and do in 1242, so the selling price is 27300.
The dealer shop is a little bit far way from big city, I do have a little concern for they are play games, all communication is online by email and by phone, OTD price was confirmed by mail.
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
is the total price 30660 all inclusive (base + dest + [mandatory add-ons] + tax + doc +dmv)?
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
From my understanding, OTD price should include reg fee such as doc and dmv, not only the tax.
The same, OTD should include dest and add-one.
But let’s find out in this weekend, will visit them for this deal. Let’s see if there is any must option, such as Honda care or other sth.
Base LX model - 24,417
Accord Hybrid - 25,902
If I multiply those by .9175, to take into account the combined 8.25% Houston sales tax, I get 22,403 and 23,765, respectively. This is slightly below their invoice pricing, of 22,468 and 23,863, respectively. And that includes whatever dealer, delivery, BS fees that might try and stick in there.
Thoughts on these prices? Going back through the last few pages, are people really getting $2000 below invoice?
Thanks!
2018 EX white 47 miles

23500 price incl destination
179 mud flaps
250 doc
33.50 Tag
6.75% tax
25,7xx OTD
2.9% Financing
I elected to not fight them on mud flaps actually they looked good on a white car (nice contrast) and I did not want them to be taken off on my bluff.
they tried hard to sell 7 year warranty. Final price $780 w/ 100 deductible but I still said No.
LA County tax should be 8.75%
I had printed out 2 copys of the OTD price confirmed email, lucky that each one has great effect. The dealer wants make misunderstanding in every step, the price manager, the finance manager, all pretend to never known the price that both side agreed before.I have to present email evidence again and again. But finally, We close the deal with the OTD 30660.
So appreciated with everyone here, thanks a lot for support me and other people who need help.
Thanks again for internet, for sharing , for be good people.
Car gurus suggests I should be able to get 2k below invoice and some of the deals on here suggest that too. Am I just a bad negotiator or is South FL a different story? Dealers seem to have lots of inventory still.
The only other advice I have for you is to either wait for 2019 models or travel out of state (if you can).
Good luck.
Anyone on this board experience these issues?
2k to 3k below models invoice price. NY doc's are $75... NJ doc's 300 / 400
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Higher trim models have a bigger discount but also cost more.
Good luck.
As @john4546 stated, you are not going to get the best pricing at the beginning of the month. Most dealers will also not give you their best price right off the bat.
@brian125 has a ton of knowledge about pricing, however you should use it as a guide. What do I mean by that? Dealers are not going to sell you an LX for $2k below invoice right off the bat. It might be possible, but you need to find a car that has been sitting on a dealer's lot for a while (use cargurus for that). You also need to find a dealer/sales guy/internet manager looking to hit their end of month quota, hence desperate to make a sale.
If you are planning to finance the car, find out what your credit score is and make sure you know what rates you qualify for. This might sound trivial, but some dealers are known to lie in order to keep that extra profit for themselves. You might get a better rate by going with a credit union.
use emails to start negotiations on dealer websites seeing what there best offer is . ( i found most dealers pricing was within a few hundred dollars.) I then made a spread sheet with my targeted dealerships, there internet mangers name email , dealers doc fee charge . I called & emailed 100 dealerships spanning 4 states . Im in PA. I negotiated directly with most internet managers or someone in dept. dealers that would not negotiate on phone or through emails were crossed off my list. Every ending month starting in feb i called and said to each dealership I buy a sport model from u today for 2000 below the models invoice price ( xxxxx ) which includes the destination charge, excludes your doc fee, taxes ,dmv fee's . I will leave a credit card deposit if we agree . I have a 780 credit score and will finance 12k thru your dealership if it wraps up the deal today. from Feb till i bought my accord in June all dealerships that would negotiate a price with me new what price got my business. I applied @brian125 advice to PIT as he says one dealer against the next by dealer name ,which did have a great affect on me getting my good price .
Special thanks again to @brian125, @bluemkn57cars , @Jerseydevil01

The lowest I’ve gotten an EX-L to is $28,340 plus dealer fee and taxes. MSRP of $32,335. Anyone have any input on that price?
Invoice for the EX-L is $29,646. Hence your quote is only $1306 below invoice. You should be able to do better towards the end of the month. Expand your search radius and reach out to more dealerships.
How many dealers have you reached out to so far? Where are you located?
I’ve emailed about 6-7 dealers. One gave me that price and another matched it, but the other dealers either refused to come down from their initial quotes or tried to get me
into a different trim.
What would be a good price to try to get them down to?

That is a tough question given the low inventory of Hybrid models. Are there any incentives on these models? Being in FL, any discount off MSRP will be negated by the high dealer doc fees (that can range up to $899). Have you thought about reaching out to out-of-state dealers?
Yes sadly dealer fees are a way of life here as are dealers adding on a $1000 worth of extra fluff. The one who gave me the price has agreed to not include the extras.
I’m actually located in Miami so about as far south as you can go. I haven’t gone out of state because unless the price is over $1000 less it would negate any cost savings for me to fly there to test drive the car before buying and having it shipped home. I bought a car once without doing an extensive test drive and had lots of issues so I won’t buy something sight unseen and without driving it and I don’t want to immediately put 600+ highway miles on my car right away, so that leaves me in a tough spot.

I understand. Make your best deal towards the end of the month. If you are still at $1300 below invoice, you have two options:
- Take the deal.
- Wait another month for a better deal. However, with already low inventory, you might be at a disadvantage and might lose out on your color combination.
Are you already sold on the hybrid? Have you done a test drive and compared the Accord to its competitors in the same price range? If you are yet to test drive the car, then you should do so asap before negotiating pricing.Good luck and let us know what you decide.
1. What is the MSRP of the car?
2. What is the sale price used to calculate your payment?
3. What is the cap cost?
4. What are the dealer doc fees?
5. What are the title and registration fees?
6. Is your quote before or after taxes?
7. Is there any money due at signing?
8. Do you qualify for any rebates such as recent college grad or military?
If you do not know the answer to any of these questions ask the dealer.
Where are you located? Have you reached out to other dealers in your area?
As @dmcc224 stated, that is a great sale price. Since you are leasing, you need to account for the acquisition fee, which was not listed on your sheet. It looks like the $1000 down is just for cap cost reduction. Most lease experts do not recommend putting any money down, since it masks the true cost of the lease. They recommend only paying for the first month's payment and all fees at signing (such as doc fee, acquisition, inspection, title and registration). Is the 6.25% MA sales tax included in that lease payment? The tax quote listed was for a purchase. If you do not know, ask the dealer.
I would recommend checking the lease forum to confirm your Money Factor and Residual Value. They can also confirm whether there are any incentives offered on this trim.
The MSRP was 30k. I got it for around $26,400. I am worked with 3 dealerships & this was the best. I am really happy with car. More features than my BMW.
If the lease numbers are correct and your getting close to 3k below invoice price its a excellent deal . Do not put up 1k to lower your monthly payment . Pay your 1st month & dmv fee's.... take vehicle. Good luck

Bear in mind / beware :
One advantage of leasing any vehicle is that it shifts depreciation risk from the customer to the manufacturer. A down payment (or a capital cost reduction) shifts the risk back onto the customer. In a lease, a down payment is a form of pre-payment. If you terminate the lease before the end of the lease period (if your car is Totaled or Stolen), you lose the benefit that the down payment purchased. Putting no money down is an important strategy for keeping the lease in the lessee’s favor. So in summary a down payment & upfront taxes paid on any lease will be lost in above scenario. ..... Good luck
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
If you make a down payment (Cap Cost Reduction ) on your lease, you will be charged state and local sales tax on the down payment amount in most states . It's payable at the time you sign lease contract.
Most states only charge sales tax on individual monthly payments (and down payment, if any) some states... NY, Texas, Minnesota, OH, , Georgia, Illinois, require the entire sales tax to be paid up front, based either on the sum of all lease payments or on the full sale price of the vehicle, depending on the state. Georgia has an up-front title ad valorem tax but no more monthly or annual taxes. Lease's often roll up-front taxes back into the capitalized cost and finance it with the lease.
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Texas
Maryland
Virginia
Georgia
Sales tax on sum of payments due up front:
Illinois
Ohio
Minnesota
NY
NJ
In either case, the tax amount can be added to the selling price and made part of the monthly payment, but it will then be subject to interest.
That said, if you pay the tax up front, and the car is stolen or totaled, it is unlikely you would get a refund from the state for the unused taxes for the lease.
