    Yesterday (11/20/2018) I Purchased a Red 2018 Accord 2.0T EX-L w/o Navi in Atlanta, GA. No trade.

    MSRP (with dest) $32,860.00
    Purchase Price Price $26,150.00
Doc Fee $687.00 (Average in Atlanta Area)
    Total Purchase $26,837.00
    Tax $1991.50
    Title and License $153.00

    Total Out the Door $28,981.50

I got a $1000 rebate from financing through Honda Financial Services (1.9%). No other incentives I know of. As per Edmunds, Invoice plus destination on this model is $30,325. Dealer wanted to include several options but I got all of them removed. Finally I had to haggle a lot with the dealer to get this price.

    20% off MSRp?
I got 20.5% off MRP and $4175 less than MRP. You may start negotiating, with these figures in mind. I did my research with the figures mentioned in an earlier post.

@bandoayan - Is the sale price you quoted inclusive of the $1000 finance incentive? If yes, your actual sale price before incentives is $27,150. Still a great deal at more than $3k below invoice.

    Congrats.

Hey gang, thanks for all of your posts. Years ago I was able to save over $7000 on my Odyssey EX-L using your forum topics from other buyers. Couple quick questions. 1. Is that tellmethebest.com Honda site no longer being updated. That seemed to be a pretty good gauge. 2. Can you still buy the warranty separate from another dealership privately in Connecticut or New York or Massachusetts? I remember there was another dealership or site where you could buy the warrantees for cost or just get the pricing from the site and buy the warranty through the dealer at the same price. Last day of the month worked the best for me. Good luck gang and keep posting out the door!!! Happy Holidays.

Yes the net price of $26150 is after of $1000 finance incentive. In fact the dealer told me that they can only offer this price if I finance from Honda.

Hello, I will be buying a new car very soon and I'm wondering what price I could get for a new 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 now that the 2019s just came out. MSRP is 31,205 and invoice is 28,615 on KBB.

What would be a good OTD asking price? I would love to try and get the price as close to 25,000 as possible. How should I go about doing this?

Your best bet is to start emailing dealers for online price quotes. Where are you located? The Sport model has been a hot seller so note sure you will be able to get $3k below invoice, but who knows.

    Good luck.

Please post your latest Thanksgiving Quote for 2018 Honda Accord EX. I have received this online quote but haven't yet received Out of the Door quote from the dealer: 22880 (with possible $1000 rebate). Not sure if they are adding other additional charges, freight, etc. to this.

I have a current lease that ends in Aug ‘19. What are the disadvantages of trading now? I’m also over my miles.

If if I can get a dealer to agree to 3k under invoice I would be inclined to trade up to a new 2018 Accord Sport 2.0.

    Thanks in advance.

You'll likely have a lot of negative equity, if you trade out early. That just gets added to the next lease payment. No free lunch.

But, you won't know until you get your current payoff and trade-in value.

I don't understand how Honda is not offering more incentives than they have to date, their custom may be hurting their bottom line more than ever.

In Southern California, I am tracking 37 dealers with a total inventory of around 5700 Accords, some dealers are receiving 2019 Accords and increasing inventory. Inventory decreased only 1.9% over the past two weeks

I am also tracking the EX trim with a 13% inventory increase over last month.

My guess is that I can wait to see if January brings better incentives than just interest rate, with plenty 2018 vehicles available, I could get a real nice deal for EX-L and EX-L Nav now, but I don't want leather and my total cost will still be lower with the EX.

Honda, for your own good, make incentives more visible to consumers - at least for the 2018 Accords.

All the automotive experts will tell you that Honda does not normally offer huge incentives on the Accord compared to some of their competitors like Toyota. If you plan to wait till next year to buy a 2018 model, remember that the car will be "technically" 1 year old on January 1st 2019. Here is some advice:
    • Figure out what trim you are interested in.
    • Expand your dealer search radius. Look at out of state dealers if pricing in your area is not that great.
    • Make your best deal for a 2018 model at the end of this month.
    • If you wait till next year to buy, look at a 2019 model.
    Good luck.

    Model Year: 2018
    Date Purchased: 11/13/18
    Engine: 2.0T
    Trim: EX-L
    Transmission: 10 Automatic
    MRSP: 32960.00
Price before Tax Title License: 27449.83
    Tax: 796.16
    Fees: Doc 589.00
    Fees: DMV 84.00
    Incentives: 500.00 Honda rebate
    Price Out The Door: 28418.00
    Miscellaneous add-ons: None
    Burlington, NC

Not reflected above, 1500 trade-in for high mileage 2006 Accord that was in pretty rough shape (lots of oxidation, suspension work needed). Email negotiations from ~10 dealers with 2 dealers butting heads until we got down to price above. I think other dealer would have gone lower, but they didn't have the color combo I wanted.

Unfortunately, I was rear-ended 3 days after buying the car. Sudden stop in traffic, I had good follow distance and stopped easily (though abruptly), guy behind had no follow distance and wasn't paying attention. Everyone was fine, $8k in damage to my car. 12 years driving my old Accord and nary a scratch. 3 days with the new car and BAM. Hope this data helps other prospective buyers.

A price break down will help other folks looking to buy the same car. Can you just list out the sale price of the car without any of those add-ons?

I wanted to remind folks posting their deals here to try and list the following info to help others:

    MSRP (listed on window sticker)
Sale price with the destination fee (excluding incentives)
    Cost of accessories (if any)
    Incentives (such as Flex cash)
    Dealer doc fees

Friendly reminder to folks posting about OTD pricing.

Only you can answer your pricing questions . Accord Hybrids in NY, NJ don't sell as well as non hybrid Accords. Go to dealer ask your questions then ask for dealers best price you want to sleep on it.

You need dealer to answer questions before you leave . Write it down, if dealer wont disclose pricing walk out don't waste your time !

1- Selling sale price of vehicle with or without the 895 destination charge?

2- Is there any flex cash or incentives if you finance thru this dealer . Get finance rates.

3- Does dealer have model you want on lot.

4- OTD pricing in NY consist of 8.75% sales tax, $75 doc fee , $10 tire fee , Dmv fees & plates.

post back info I will help you with dealer info & pricing..

DO NOT BUY................. vehicle Tonight until you due your homework

For those asking about prices paid -

My sister bought a 2018 Accord EX-L 1.5 (white/ivory leather) yesterday in Northern Virginia.

    MSRP (before destination) $29,970
Sales Price $24,991 - 17% discount from MSRP
    Destination $895
    Dealer Processing Fee $699
    Total $26,585
    Plus Tax (4.15%) $1,103
Plus Tags and tiny other local taxes not worth mentioning
    1.9% Financing for 60 months

My best info on this vehicle is: Invoice $27,410 plus $890 Dest Fee less $599 Holdback = Dealer Cost of $27,701. On top of this the dealer has an unknown amount of rebate/flexible cash to play with. How they allocate that money is anybody's guess so far as I can tell.

The sales price plus destination and fees of $26,585 is $1,116 under dealer cost of $27,701.

She also got a reasonable trade-in, matching Car Max and saving her another ~$300 sales tax.

I shopped at least four other dealers, and the prices they were tossing around were comparable.

I imagine that at this time of year and month, there might have been more on the table, but the vehicle is impressive for around $25,000. I've owned and leased multiple Lexuses, Acuras, Volvos, and an Audi, and drives as well and the interior is as nice as any of mine. When my Volvo S60 lease is up, I might look at an Accord.

The dealer was Tyson's Honda, one of the chain of Sonic dealers. Because this chain of dealers says they are committed to a new sales model in which best prices are given freely, time will tell if it works to their advantage. Sonic was written up in Forbes for their new business model.

I think most of the other dealers would have eventually matched this deal, and I still think there might have been a little more to squeeze; but we thought the price was good, the car was on the lot, it had an August 2018 date of the door, so wasn't an old build,

I would do business with this dealer again.

I'm in PA this was one of the dealerships that was recommended by @brian125 to call. Tyson's Honda gave me a no nonsense quote they new i was in PA and Tyson tried hard for the sale. I dealt with sales manager Hugo who explain everything in detail, no rushing or pressure. The problem was with Tysons 699 doc fee it lowered my deal to where pricing was in NJ at the time. good dealership for sure

Got a little mislead on what dealer told me..surprise surprise. So like I said I have a 2017 EX-L Hybrid with 37K miles on it and approaching my 2nd year in a 3 year lease. Yes things changed with my job and now I drive a lot. So I can buy my car out(finance it) for $21,100 plus tax. Is that a fair price for my car? Thank you very much,

    $21,100 is market value price.

Your other option is using Swaplease . See if someone will take over remaining payments. If you put upfront $$ (down payment ) on lease you may not be able to recoup $$ unless you ask swap lease buyer to pay some of that money. You most likely wont get rid of vehicle if you ask for upfront $$$.

Have you thought about trading it? I have about 9 months left on my 17 accord sport I’m at 40k miles. I’m considering trading for a new one.

When I went into the dealer to see about going that the salesman said "I'm going to tell you something we never say, it's not worth it for you to trade in your car for a new one".

OK, from what I'm seeing I think $21,100 is a fair buy price. Think I'm going to go to dealer tomorrow and buy it out.

Don't let dealers price gouge you for un- wanted Accessories. Any accessories added to vehicle you want them at dealers invoice price............ when negotiating for that vehicle

Hold up. Is the $21,100 the residual value when the lease is up? If so, then that won't be the buyout price, with 12 months left in the lease. Generally, it's the residual value plus the sum of the remaining payments. Pretty sure that is way over market value.

I suggest you call Honda Finance to get a true buyout quote; I'm not sure I'd trust what the dealer is telling you.

The idea with leasing is that you are committed to a fixed payment for a fixed duration; trying to alter those variables in the middle of the lease is going to cost you money. A lot of money, in some cases.

so I will be buying out my 2017 Accord with 37k miles on it. Does a different warranty kick in( say 5 yr or 60k) once I finance the car? I assume the best extended warranty to get is Honda Care? I think an extended warranty may be a good idea as I drive about 19k per year. Thanks

Wow from what I'm reading I'm not even sure if I can get the Honda Care extended warranty with 37k miles. Seems like I have to have no more than 35k.

I would assume the 21k plus remaining lease year is the buyout

I'd recommend calling Honda Finance for a hard number; that way, there is no guessing, no assumptions and no game playing.
