@dellcoupon - Have you inquired about pricing on a 2019 model?
Where are you located? Northeast?
End of the month negotiations and buying is a must, it gives the customer the best chance with dealer price leverage.

So invoice = $24,483 (w/destination), so $22,483 PLUS taxes and Fees. Most initial offers seem to be at $22,250 PLUS destination.
That make sense?
From Honda's website, MSRP for the 2018 Sport 1.5T is $26,675 with $895 destination fee. You are correct about the invoice price.
Aim for $2k below invoice pricing, but be prepared to adjust your expectations. If your local dealers are not giving you any decent offers on a soon to be 1-year old car, expand your search radius or reach out to out of state dealers. You can also inquire about pricing on a 2019 model.
Good luck.
above price quote which excludes the dealers doc fee is well over $3200 below invoice price

Please go back and read some of my posts regarding the info needed to analyze your deal. Btw, if you are purchasing in MA the sales tax is 6.25%.
Purchasing in MA
Sport 2.0 $26508
Tax $1858 based on RI tax (I thought that's what I would have to pay on with an out of state purchase)
Doc fee $459
Reg fee $175
Total $29000
Dec. ( the last few days) is the Super-Bowl of car buying You will make your best deal right at the very end of this month.
Remember buying a 2018 model in Dec. If your vehicle is totaled or stolen the depreciation hit on Jan, 1, 2019 will be thousands more than your 2018 discount @1648 below Invoice price. . Just something to think about.
If I was ready to buy this month .
I would also be targeting the 2019 model for Invoice price minus dealers doc fee charge. In your case in RI ( @450 below invoice price ) A excellent price bought in 2018 . \
If I couldn't get a 2019 at $450 below invoice price I would still consider a 19 Accord over a 2018 Accord for Invoice price plus doc's .. still a better deal than a 18 model at 2k below invoice minus another 450 in doc fee's .
If I'm not getting 3k and under below invoice on a 2018 model.... I'm making my best deal on a 2019 !

@brian125 has broken down your deal. He is spot on as always.
26462 before tax (6%), $1500 incentive included when financed
28050 OTD (PA)
is this a good deal? it had 28 miles on it and had some spider webs on side mirrors (assuming its been sitting on the lot for > 9 months). Obviously they detailed everything before driving off the lot.
Congrats.
Congrats.
I did not even care about how much each fee is lol according to the paperwork, doc fee was $389. When I ask dealers for price I just ask for OTD. I guess some fees are taxable and some are not. I only focused on bottom dollar I was gonna pay after tax. When you say $2100 below invoice before incentive, does it mean it was good deal?
27109.43 total taxable amt (sales tax 1626.57)
total price I paid after tax and fees was 29550
so 29550 - 28736 = 814 fees
29550 - 1500 incentive = 28050 OTD
I guess my first post was bit misleading because I just subtracted 6% from OTD price not knowing fees were not taxable.
As some (including me) have suggested, you should also get pricing on a 2019 model. That 2018 model is going to depreciate quite a bit once it is January 1st 2019.
Good luck.
When you reach out to dealers, ask about incentives for financing such as Flex cash (money Honda dishes out to dealers, and in turn dealers offer those incentives to us).
If you plan to buy a 2018 model this month, just make sure the discount is worth the depreciation hit vs a 2019 model.
Post back when you start getting quotes from dealers. Do not waste your time and walk into a dealership to negotiate pricing. Do everything via email or phone first. You can even fill out a credit application online.
There is a ton of info on this forum, so read up on some of the tactics others have used to land a good deal.
The 18 Accord price is 3k below invoice, and the 19 Accord price is 500 below invoice. I think that's what one of the experts recommended on 19's. Thanks in advance.

I’m interested in a leasing a new Accord Sport 2.0. I’m looking for the following deals at the end of the month. I am currently in a Honda Lease and will be trading my 2017 Honda Accord Sport SE, with 42k miles.

Or
2019 Accord Sport 2.0
MSRP 31,605
Invoice 28,086
My target price $27,586 +895 = 28,481
I prefer to work out all deals thru email before visiting dealership.

I want to buy Honda Accord LX base model MSRP (24.465)
I am in Daytona beach area.
What best discount can I expect off the MSRP (20%)?
current dealer is offering 10% msrp (22,000-price)
Let me know if it is good or should I bargain for more?
Thank you!
A few words of advice:
- Leave your current lease out of the equation. Are you turning in your current lease early? Why?
- Find a car on a dealer's lot that has all the options you like and inquire about pricing.
- No need to list out MSRP and invoice pricing in your email.
This is what I would suggest in your sample email:Hi,
I am looking for pricing on a 2018 Accord Sport 2.0 (stock # XXXX). Could you list out the following information:
- Sale price before any incentives
- Incentives for financing and leasing (not military or recent grad - unless you qualify for both)
- Documentation fees
- Title and registration fees
Reach out to as many dealerships as possible. You can post in the lease forum to request numbers for MF and RV: https://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/48615/honda/accord/2018-honda-accord-lease-deals-and-prices#latest. You can use those numbers to calculate your monthly payment from there.
Note: If you are turning in your current lease early, be advised that any remaining payments will be rolled into your new lease. Hence, I would not recommend doing that, IMO.
Good luck.
The experts recommend paying the first month's payment and all fees (acquisition, doc fee, title and registration) at signing (DAS - Due At Signing).
Have you figured out what your payoff amount is on your current lease? If not, contact HFS.
So i'm guessing for my situation it would be best to just finish the lease, and pay the over mileage fees?
I have about 9 payments to go, and i will probably be close to 50k miles. The reason is, my job has changed, and i'm driving a ton more, but recently acquired another vehicle to offset the miles.
My payoff is $17447
Thank you so much for the valuable advise. Feel free to comment further.
- Turn in the car at the end of the lease and pay the overage mileage fees.
- Turn in the car and lease another Honda (not sure if HFS will forgive the overage fees. You could look into that).
- Buy out the car at the end of the lease ( You will have to run numbers and find out if it will be worth it).
How many dealers have you reached out to? Where are you located? Have you inquired about pricing on a 2019 model?
You can tell dealers that $2k below invoice plus any available incentives gets your business today on a 2018 LX (Only do this if you actually plan to sign the deal within 24 hours).
Good luck.
All dealers claim they don't have any flex cash incentives for the LX model. I also checked the 2019 Accord LX price. All dealers do not want to give any discount except one dealer offers 2K below MSRP.
If at the end I get 2K below invoice for 2018 LX,and 2K below MSRP for 2019 LX. Whcih one is more valuable? Thanks.
Good luck.

Thanks very much for your reply. I'm in Los Angeles county. I contacted 50 dealers. The best offer I get for 2018 Honda Accord is OTD price 23400 (about 1500 under invoice price.)price. I'm targeting 23K OTD (about 2000 under invoice price).price.

A 2019 LX Accord with a $2000 Off MSRP = $24,615 puts you at close to Invoice price which is $22,605.
The 2019 model is your best deal. If you negotiate at the very end of the month you will do better than a price given today.
