Is the residual calculated on the msrp or the cap cost?  The dealer didnt give me all the numbers but gave me the buyout price at 63% residual and the monthly payment at .0006% cap rate. 0 down and just first month and dmv fee upfront and I was quoted at 481 for a 36 month 10k lease. The buyout was based off the msrp. is there a way to back into the capitalized cost from the info provided?

Msrp was 43,837 (including a delivery and processing fee of 995). I appreciate the help, this forum is great.

With that MSRP, the adjusted cap cost is around $43,400 for a payment of $481/mo

What you need to find out is how they arrived at that number - what fees and taxes were added to the selling price.

Let me ask a stupid question maybe... but the RV seems to vary from car to car, is there a highlander that based on RV makes sense to start considering leases at with a particular number of miles per year? I ask because if the base model only retains 50% of its value (just random numbers) but the higher model retains 62%.. that would be taken into consider when getting a quote from a dealership. My hope with asking this questions is to avoid a situation in which i keep asking anyone here for RV and MF. I guess my question, from what you've seen here.. which model has the highest RV value and ith what number of miles.. I have flexibility in what i get, just trying to get a good deal, so thought to work it in reverse by using the forums knowledge base.

Each make and model, and trim level with the model, could have their own unique sets of numbers. Plus, there may be regional differences in MF, residual and incentives.

Are the deals on the 18 Highlander really all that good, or is it better to just wait a month or two for the mostly unchanged 2019 model. Doesn't seem like many real deals right now compared to the fact that it is soon a year old vehicle.
