    This thread has been super helpful, was wondering if you can take a look below and see if this is a good deal or can I get better. I realize the gap and wear & tear she offered is overpriced, i considered gap because State Farm does not handle it. Any suggestions will be helpful

    Here is some preliminary  numbers - for you to consider - these lease payments are all based off approved credit (teir1)  I have attached two examples of one with gap insurance and wear and tear insurance. Which I recommend when leasing a  vehicle, 
     
    36-months @ 12K a year - with insurance products = $447.92 (Indian wells zip code)  
    36-months @ 12K a year with no insurance products = $395.59 
    All payments are with a $2000 dollar down payment
     
    with just drive off fees = $1053.71 payments = $422.76 with no insurance products and with = $473.63
     
    I have discounted the XLE from $40,822.00 to $37,237.00, so that is payments based off that lease price.

    So this is XLE FWD, wanted to see if the selling price of the vehicle was good, also if there is a way to calculate the MF from this quote.

    Drive off of $1053 seems high for standard fees ( 1st month, registration and doc fee ) I got them down to 400 for gap on last car so I know I can work that.

    Also since this is a 2018, not sure if I should wait till next month or even November to buy since they will have the 2019’s by then, might be better incentives

    If I add the $650 acq.fee to the sale price, I get $387/mo.+tax
    If you have 9% sales tax, that matches the $422.76/mo. payment
    Drive off is 1st payment, DMV (about $450) and doc fee ($80)

    That's about $100 short of their $1053 due at signing. I'm estimating DMV fees

    Toyota dealers don't markup special money factors.

    Residuals won't change next month, as they are fixed through October.. But, if you've found the vehicle you want, not much point in waiting. This is a pretty good lease program on the Highlander. Offer less money, and see where it takes you.

    maybe not so smart question...if you lease a car and then buy it at the end of the lease, since the buyout is based on MSRP aren't you in effect giving back 60% of your negotiated discount (assuming 60% residual) or are you just basically front loading your discount?

    No, because the lease payments themselves are based on the negotiated price.

    Where you have problems is when the residual value is inflated to lower the lease payment, only to discover that the market value of the car is lower (often, much lower) than the buyout value.

    If the plan is to keep the car after the lease term is over, just buy it outright, to begin with.

    Could you give me an idea as to whether, or not, this is a good deal?
    Also, can you recommend any good resources that would give me an idea as to, whether, or not, the price is fair?

    Is the dealer discount on $337?
    If so, that's a terrible deal.

    Read the last few pages of this discussion, looking for MSRP and sale prices, to get an idea of the discounts that other members are getting.

    Are you sure that $37,837 is the MSRP?


    To answer your question, the MSRP is $42557
    $37837 is their "internet price"...

    The quote they provided included No Money down with only the first month due at signing.

    Does this look like a good deal or is the price too high?
