Planning on pulling the trigger on this deal:
    2018 MDX w/Tech. 36/12
    MSRP: $49,595
    Total discount and rebates: $9740
    Adjusted Price: $39,855
    Adj Cap Cost: $43198.
    MF .00025
    RV 53% ($26,285)
    $0 down. Sign and drive.
    $519 / month sales tax included (6.5%)
    Any thoughts ?

What adds $3350 to the price to get to that adjusted CAP cost?
    $519 1st payment,
    $799 pro pack,
$2025 in taxes and fees: $795.50 dealer fee, $595 acura acq, $427 new tags, $171 filing, $33.,82 sales tax
It's a big amount, but when I plague everything in, I get $593 a month. Something is not right,

    Got it.

So, $1600 of junk (pro pack and dealer fee), which adds almost $45/mo to the payment

I get $519/mo with those numbers.

I wouldn't put so much cash down on a lease; just first payment and DMV costs.

Without the $3000 up front, I get $491/mo with tax, which is still a good payment, relative to MSRP

The dealer quoted me $484 plus tax. When I did my own lease calculations I also came up with $439 + tax. Seems the dealer padded the payment by $45/month. When I came back with $439, they agreed. What do you think of the deal?
    It looks good at $439/mo.

Did you get the adjusted CAP number from the dealer, or calculate it yourself?

I calculated the adjusted cap cost myself. I asked about RV (55%), MF(.00025) and incentives ($2950) and the info I was given from the dealer was correct. When I questioned the dealer about the difference between my monthly payment and the one I was quoted they couldn't give an answer. The next day the dealer came back and said they would agree to my figures.

But, here's to everyone looking to lease. Do your own research and calculations. With all the knowledge here you should come very close to what the lease deal should be. You might be off a few dollars, not 30, 40 or more. All that money times your lease term adds up to less money in your pocket and more in the dealers.

May I get a second set of eyes on this lease deal? '18 MDX Tech, zip 33954. Dealer has supplied this quote. I get a different monthly number. I come up with $439/month plus tax, with 1K down.Using this lease calculator:
    https://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/calculate-your-own-lease-payment.html#formula

    Dealer Quote:

    Market Value Selling Price 49,595.00
    Discounts with incentives 7,500.00
    Adjusted Price 42,095.00
    Taxable Fees (Estimated) 173.50
    DEALER DELIVERY FEE* 599.00
    Tax 114.03
    Non Tax Fees 597.00
    Balance 43,578.53
Monthly payment 484.00 plus tax with 1K down.

What lease term and how many miles per year?
    Sorry bout that! 36/7.5K
    .00025 and 55%
    $2950 lease incentive

I get $471/mo plus tax with the MSRP and "balance" prices

Confirm the adjusted cap cost with the dealer; it's possible the acquisition fee is added in there.

The adjusted cap cost is $42483
I get $439.82+tax, with your adjusted CAP
Did you get that number from the dealer?

Always get the adjusted CAP cost from the dealer, and an accounting of how they calculated it. After that, it all becomes clear.

I can't seem to figure out how they got the monthly payment on this. Dealer is claiming 0$ out of pocket. Can you decipher? It's a 2018 MDX base FWD 36/7500 95630.

If the sales tax rate is 7.75% (which, if you live in Ventura County, I think it is), then the payment is correct.

Not sure how they can claim $0 out of pocket when it clearly states the total drive off is over $2700.

    Ask them to explain that.

We recommend only first payment and DMV costs be paid at signing - you'll have a higher payment, but less out of pocket.

I agree, it doesn't make sense to me either. They (the dealership) claim they are paying the drive off and it's 0$ out of pocket to me and still the $437 a month. Seems like a decent deal but it's tough to read their paperwork format. I also have an offer for a pilot exl for $400 OTD with first payment and dmv due at signing ($950ish) trying to decide which is a better deal.

Forget which is the better deal; which vehicle would you be happier to live with for the next three years?

Time and time again, I see folks on these boards looking for the absolute best deal, only to not like the car they end up with.

Went to a dealer in NC today, had some questions.

    1 Incentives on 2018 SH-AWD w/Tech are $2,950 for lease?
    2. They mentioned additional $1,500 dealer incentive as well, would that be additional capitalized cost reduction money?
    3. The value of my trade for my Odyssey brings in $2,500 of cap cost reduction as well to the equation.

Would all of these be additive to each other totaling $6,950 off the final negotiate gross cap cost of the auto?

I was looking at a 36/15 on a $51,995 sticker for SH-AWD w/Tech and the lease prices seemed high at $587/month. They did not provide me a print out of any of the variables going into the lease payment as I was there for three hours and closed the place out prior to them providing.

    1. $2950 incentive on all trim levels but base
    2. "dealer incentive"? I'd confirm that this is simply the discount from sticker
    3. We don't recommend using trade equity as cap reduction; have the dealer cut you a check for that amount

Look at some of the deals posted above; they are all better than the quote you were given.

What are the cons for paying more downpayment for least downpayment and
If i pay off the lease with one time payment for 36 months. e.g paying $15k to cover 36 months lease.. what's the concern?

    Let's separate the two concepts.

Making a down payment on a lease, to lower the monthly payment, is a bad idea. That money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled, and it makes you think you have a lower monthly payment. The total cost of the lease isn't any different.

Making a one-pay lease is different - you get a lower money factor, and the payments are held in escrow and paid out each month. If the lease terminates early, you'd get the unspent payments returned to you.

Will one full-payment lease avoid all the sale tax?

Newbie question, when you negotiate the purchase price off MSRP and get to the net capitalized cost prior to adding in additional fees, is that what the residual value of (for example) 53% is based on? Just trying to do the math to be better prepared and wasn't sure exactly what the residual based on for sure.
