Thanks. Do you happen to know what the incentives/rebates are as I'm getting conflicting info from dealer. I'm a current FCA customer if that helps. One dealer said $4,250 (500 cutomer rebate and 3,750 dealer cash) and another dealer just said $3,250.

Lease Rate .42

Payment about $340.

My question is, I don't understand how they are getting to this rate. My understanding is the piece I'm financing is:

($38,135 - $28,388) + $997 = $9747

$9747 - $4000 = $5747 financed at the lease rate of .42

This seems to suggest the payment should be closer to $230? Help, I feel like I'm missing something or looking at this completely wrong.

What is a lease rate vs money factor? If the lease rate = money factor then that seems very high.

You have the concept wrong. You aren't financing the depreciation. You are financing an average of the CAP cost and residual. Just as if you were purchasing the vehicle.
After all, the bank buys the vehicle from the dealership, then rents it to you. They have to pay the full price, upfront.

There is a specific formula for calculating a lease, using the money factor.
What term/mileage is this lease? What is your zip code?
Is it a .00042 money factor? Is it a Chrysler Capital lease?

Hey need help ended up pulling the trigger in my unique desperate situation, i dont have all the cap cost on me but here is what im getting through ally auto.

2018 giulia ti sport awd 39/mo 15k
Msrp 50990
Monthly payment in CT 650 including tax

Here is where my issues comes in, i have a current lease thru ally for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee which im 4 payments away from being done with,  and 53k miles on the truck which puts me currently at 18k miles over my lease already. Which at ally the per mile overage is $.20 a mile which is $3600 alone and each day growing and $1500 in back property taxes i owe ally and im basically about 7k on negative equity is what he said for trade in with them either buying it out or them doing lease return. with 4 payments left, mileage owed, property taxes and car needs brakes and has a terrible unfixable shimmy taking that all into consideration with 5500 down did i get a decent deal. Btw he said total off MSRP including rebates was $8100

If you pulled the trigger, why don't you have a copy of the paperwork?

$650/mo plus $5500 cash from you is almost $800/mo, for a $51,000 Alfa.

With that much negative equity, I don't think you were going to find a good deal, no matter what car you leased.

If you are so many miles over on your current lease, what makes you think you won't go over miles on the new lease?

Well when i say I pulled the trigger i mean i left small deposit for pickup monday he showed it to me and broke it down but i was exhuasted and honestly couldnt recall all the details i think my cap cost was 44 since my msrp went up a little with negative equity. As far as Miles goes, i lived farther from work when i got the car and also drove to Maine quite a bit back then. I just moved been moving all week. So this time 15k a year will do it and with ally its only .20 over i dont forsee maybe max having 1k of overages this time which that i can swing.

He said had i not had my situation i could have left with a payment of 580 with barely any down. All that cash i put down just covers my miles i would have paid end of lease and my property tax. So i feel its best i could do in my situation especially with a car i wanted. Plus in CT any car over 50k msrp gets a higher tax of 7.75 had it not been for my old car it would have been 6.35

The way the dealer explained to me is ally uses better RV but higher intrest vs chrysler who uses worse RV but better apr or something is how he explained it. The mileage overage of .50 cents a mile is enough for me to not want to deal with Chrysler cap.

Yes.. Ally has really high rates, but also really high residuals... and, FCA gives you a bigger rebate, if you use Ally.

The dealers stick their deal in the computer, and it spits out the program with the best overall payment. Sometimes, it's Ally, and other times it's CC.

If the payment is equal, I'd rather go with the lease with the lower residual, in case I need to get out of it, at some point... (but, of course, it's almost never equal)

I know the numbers could change tomorrow (May), if anyone has those rate sheets and could provide May numbers that would be great.

If anyone wants to chime in on discounts they received in the east coast I'd appreciate it. I'm hearing 20-25% with dealer discount and rebates combined, but was not sure if that was for 2017 or 2018s.
