Residual tends to go down as the model year progresses.

Generally, the MF and/or incentives are adjusted to compensate, so you end up at / near the same payment.

Guess the folks at Kia didn't get that memo.

When inventory piles up at the dealer, things may change.

I like that you went for a 12ish% discount... Very aggressive offer! I typically try to go for similar deals and while not all dealers are willing to negotiate, eventually someone will bite. Still $650+/mo, for a $50K MSRP vehicle.

Which, if you thought a $50K Kia was a "value", wouldn't be terrible. But, I'm not in that camp.

A dealer has shown a me 28K cap cost for a car with an MSRP of 32.9K. Given, 5.6K lease cash from Kia I am wondering if I can bring down the cap cost a little more. So, is lease cash used to bring a price down from an MSRP or from a cap cost?

I'm not certain, but I think Kia's lease cash is a dealer incentive, so it will be included in any price they quote.
For you to be certain, you have to ask them.

Also, your CAP cost quote? Is that the selling price, or is it the adjusted CAP cost, after taxes and fees have been added? You have to know that, as well.
