They also came back and quoted me $429 for a $38,000 Premium FWD , explaining that, even though its MSRP is only $1300 less than the base GT, and the residual is 48% rather than 51%, the lease cash is 2K greater."
I just met with a Kia dealer in GA for a base model GT. What you gave me matched up with what they were using: .00228 MF and 51% residual. $5500 lease cash.
However, after calculating the lease in front of the salesman, utilizing their discount + the lease cash and taking into account their doc fee and supposed Kia lease fee (around $700), and then the 7% GA tax per monthly payment, I came up with $447 w/0 money down, while they came back to me again with $517 for 0 money down. I said, "the numbers are right here, I double-checked them in front of you, you have confirmed the MF and residual, yet you are $70 higher than me." And they just kept pointing to the official Kia lease template on the screen and saying, "this is what Kia's system came up with." So it seems to me, dealers can maintain the "mystery factor" and charge whatever they want to charge, regardless of the official MF and residual. Any thoughts?
The only real variables in a lease are the MF and the adjusted cap cost - so, if you confirm they are using the same MF, then the CAP cost has to be different. Hidden and junk fees could easily account for that.
They also came back and quoted me $429 for a $38,000 Premium FWD , explaining that, even though its MSRP is only $1300 less than the base GT, and the residual is 48% rather than 51%, the lease cash is 2K greater."
Seems they do whatever they want to do.
They want to move inventory and make money; you want to get a car at a price and payment you feel is reasonable.
If you can't meet on those objectives, then move on to another dealer.

When they show you that template, get a screen shot, and post it for us.

Thinking of a cash Purchase Northeast 2018 Stinger Premium AWD. MSRP $40,255 online listed Sale price $36,255. Good deal? Reasonable counter offer? There 3 dealerships no more than 25 miles from my home that carry the same vehicle. Thoughts on shopping the deal?

If you don't contact other dealers, you are asking the first dealer to negotiate against themselves. Not gonna work out well, for you.
We don't track pricing, but continue to go around to each dealer and get them to go lower. Eventually, two of them will drop out and you should have your lowest price.
Clarification on lease cash - is that being offered to all buyers separate from negotiating off the MSRP? That's what it looks like when I read above...thanks again!
Thanks for the info! Good to know. Clarification on lease cash - is that being offered to all buyers separate from any negotiating off the MSRP? Thanks again!
Could someone tell me the MF, residual and any incentives for a stinger GT AWD w/ the drive wise package in zip code 02026? based on what others have said, I should expect an incentive of $7900
I am looking for 36 months, 15k/yr
The reasoning i am using is a negotiated price of $40,600- $7900 incentive= cap cost $32,700. So far dealers are not really going below a cap cost of around 35k. -any advice?
Apologies in advance if the terminology is incorrect.

.00229 MF and 49% residual $5800 lease cash
What is the MSRP? What is your reasoning for choosing $40,600 as the negotiated price? The $7900 incentive is only on the GT2

MSRP is around 44k, the $40,600 is coming from Edmunds avg price paid. So that is the number i applied the incentives to.

That seems reasonable.. but, as mentioned, the incentive on the GT AWD is just $5800
kyfdx - If I apply the previous numbers you provided me to a MSRP of $53,035 assuming zero down sign & drive I come up with a lease payment of $569. Does that sound about right?

Hi, I’m looking to lease a Premium base model + drivewise package for 36m, with the minimum mileage which seems to be 10k. I was originally planning to trade in my 2008 Infinit G35 at the end of the year but I’m looking at the lease incentive of $7200 which seems to expire on 9/4 and wondering if that makes it a better time to negotiate now. What do you think?

What ZIP code? RWD or AWD?
You should get a car when you need it. Trying to time the market is kinda tough.
Total Sales Price = $26,671.52 Down Payment due at signing ($3,000) - Includes first payment Total Lease Amount = $23,138.00
Monthly Payment = $300.38 for 35 Months
I feel that I got a very good deal. I essentially got the Nationally advertised lease rate of $299 w/3k due at signing. I was able to get the dealer to eat the taxes, tags and processing fee. Plus, they ate the Prepaid mileage and the cost of the remote start. It took several hours of negotiating, but in the end, the dealer was extremely motivated to make a sale.
