I have been told today by the Acura Dealer that the .00215 MF is only possible with a security deposit down. Without the security deposit, they said its going to be .00225. Is this correct?

This topic came up today because, this dealer was marking up the MF to .00275

    Thanks.

    Yes, the dealer is correct.

I was looking through the numbers from the 2nd dealership, but couldn't find the 'acquisition fee' anywhere. Its weird how the drive-off doesn't even include the acquisition fee.

Any idea what is going on here? Will they charge me the acquisition fee upfront? But i specifically told them i would be only paying first month + security deposit during signing.

    Thanks for the help guys!

After few weeks of going back and forth between dealers, i'm ready to pull a trigger. It was between the two dealers but one of them gave up saying they can't match the price anymore.
This quote is for the 2019 TLX A-Spec V6 FWD. $399 due at signing. Zip 21045
The dealer also quoted me on the AWD, which would be just adding $25 more per month.

Did i land a good deal? and do you guys think adding just $25 to get the AWD is a better value overall?

    Thank you guys.

Yes, that looks like a good deal.

Do you need AWD? I've lived in CO for 25 years and I've managed with FWD in almost every car I've used as a daily driver.

If you need more traction, get a good set of winter tires.

Dealer is saying .00225 which they markup to .003. At least they are honest in telling me about the markup, but that change costs $1600 over a 3 year lease.   Not to mention that’s a 7% interest rate which I haven’t seen since the ‘09.
Needless to say I gave that dealership a hard pass.

If I intend to lease a TLX, then buyout/payoff the lease ASAP am i better off doing a 24/36 month lease or a one pay lease? What is the process to buyout a lease from Acura financial?

If you intend to buy out the lease after 1 or 2 payments, it won't matter how you structure the lease, as you won't pay any of the interest from the lease.

I'm getting a different payment when I calculate these numbers. Am I correct that for the A-Spec V6, 36/10, the RV is 51% and the money factor (with no security deposit) is .00225? With those, I'm getting $387/month.

Is the dealer marking up the MF? or maybe being in Maryland, the tax is levied on the entire sales price play any role in this...? How is the dealer getting $399?

Yes, but you'll still have interest on a loan, or opportunity cost on the money, if you pay cash.

Without seeing the actual deal sheet, I can't tell. But, I'll guess that the "Total Price" is not the adjusted CAP cost.

If it is truly $0 Due at Signing, you'd have to add the first payment to that amount, as that is usually due upfront.

    Well, he's the sales manager.

Again, he is wrong, except for the part about paying sales tax on the residual. You will have to do that (unless you are in a full tax state, and paid tax on the full selling price, upfront)

They may be trying to get you to hold off for 90 days, so the dealer doesn't get charged back for the incentives on the vehicle.

The salesman said something about making at least 3 payments......... but them telling me I have to pay ALL the interest in a buyout makes it much less likely that I would close the deal.

There isn't anything on the Acura Financial website that explicity answers your question, however, there is the following included in their FAQs:

Why doesn't the estimated payoff on my statement decrease by the amount I pay each month?
On a lease, your payment consists of vehicle depreciation, a rent charge, and possibly sales tax. Only the vehicle depreciation portion of your payment applies towards your payoff.

Based on that answer, the dealer's statement doesn't make sense. If you were responsible for all the interest when paying off the lease, the payoff amount would decrease by the depreciation and the rent charge after making each monthly payment. Conversely, Acura specifically states that the payoff decreases by only the depreciation amount which implies that kyfdx and Michaell are correct. Aside from calling Acura directly or asking the dealer for a copy of a lease agreement, this is probably as close as you'll get to an answer.

Nope.. just our years of experience.. I think they've shown their hand, by mentioning three payments. They don't want to get charged back the incentive. And, for just three months interest, I don't see why you wouldn't wait that long.

I've checked many pages of this forum and it seems to be very lease focused. I'm interested in getting a TLX Tech 2.4 and want to know what a good price would be for purchase. I live in 33076. Edmonds TMV shows $32,962 but I also see other sites that show lower numbers $30,851. Also, should I figure dealer fees, which in Florida are usually around $500-$800, in this number or add it to the number.

We don't track pricing, so we don't have much to add to TMV.

But, you should definitely deduct the dealer fee from any TMV number, so that the price paid including dealer fee = TMV (assuming TMV is your target).

Dealer fees add no value and should be considered part of the sale price of the vehicle.

@kpwin17 park ave . But they don’t have anymore 2.4 aspec. It’s a sweet ride. I don’t even regret not getting the v6. I had an offer in March 365.00 with 365 due at signing on a base v6. Much happier with the 2.4 aspec

Wasn't sure best place to ask this question - been searching for the answer.

I have 9 months left on my 2017 TLX lease...when would be the best time to try and upgrade to a newer TLX, is it too soon?

This is an amazing resource - Thank you so much!

Looking for a 2019 2.4 Tech or V6 w/tech and the 4 dealers I'm communicating with are all over the map.

Getting different stories about owner loyalty cash being there or not, and lots of stories about residuals falling. Zip is 75201. 36 month 7500 or 10K leases since I have 15K to roll over from my expiring lease (would love to hear how these miles are added to the lease)

Wait until your current lease is up, then start shopping.

Acura may have a pull ahead program where the last x number of payments are waived if you get into a new lease.

Trust me, you'll start getting mail on that, when you're eligible.

You're only getting $2000 off sticker with your quote, if you exclude the incentive.

That's probably the place you can save yourself some money.
