Hi there! This is my first time trying to lease a hybrid vehicle, BMW 530e. The deal I got from my local dealership is awful but I do not know the right approach to negotiate. I also don't know if I should call a bunch of dealerships further away?
Please provide any suggestion or advice. Thank you very much.
I understand many factors go into getting the final number calculated. From this point on, should I even bother keeping conversation going with the dealership?
Thank you!
They "hybrid" part has nothing to do with your deal. The programs for the hybrid and gas models are the same. (other than you may get a rebate from CA on the hybrid).
.00182 MF and 61% residual The money factor is marked up the maximum. That adds $36/mo.+tax to your deal.
Otherwise, it's not a bad deal, given the lease program.
Thank you very much. So it sounds like I could 1) ask them to lower MF to 0.00182 then that will drop my payment by $36, and 2) ask for more dealer discount? Currently it's around 8%.
Is there anything else I can try to do for this to be a good deal?
1. Tell them you wan the base rate or you'll work with another dealer 2. 8% is a pretty strong discount for a new 2019, but there is nothing to lose in asking for more

One other thing you can do (that I'm doing as well) - buy a 3 year membership to BMWCCA for $134. Once you lease the car, you can get a $1,000 rebate from them. This isn't related to your lease transaction with the dealer.

Just so I understand better...
1. Base rate refers to MF of 0.00182, is that correct? 2. Is there a calculator somewhere where I can input the MSRP, dealership discount, MF, down payment, zipcode, residual value, etc to verify the monthly payment of $773? I'd like to make sure they don't adjust other hidden knobs while only showing me good discounts to derive at $773 monthly.
All these wonderful tips are helping me feel more confident about arranging for the right lease (3-years is a long time). Thank you!

Hi There, looking to lease, 36/mo/10K. MSRP of $57,680 plus $500 USAA certificate and i'm in Boca Raton, FL (33433). From previous posts it appears numbers are .00182 & 58%. Is 9% off MSRP doable? With those numbers, selling price would be $51,989. What range should i be in regarding monthly payment with little to no money down if that was selling price ? Anything else that may help me I would greatly appreciate it. Love the information provided in here!!

.00182 and 61% for 36/10
With those prices, $590/mo plus tax.
But, you'd pay all fees up front (acquisition fee, dealer fee, registration fee). Add roughly $30/mo for every $1000 of fees you add to the selling price.

Trying to figure out how i just negotiated 8.5% off MSRP plus an additional $2500 in rebates, for a total of $49,000 plus tax, tag and fees and they told me those numbers came to either $1999 cash due and $754 a month or $3,000 cash due and $722 a month. All on a $49,000 2019 530i.... Shouldn't this be like $595 a month including tax, and like $1900 drive off? What am i missing?!

Ask them for the CAP cost used for their payment quote. That's likely the difference.
New here, I am looking to lease a 2019 BMW 540i xDrive, 36/mo/10K. What are the MF & RV, and are there any incentives for the 65807 area. Also please check on zip code 72712 (that's in Arkansas, I might have to get it from there if the deal is significantly better). With a tentative quote of $64,545 (before taxes), what range should I be in regarding monthly payment with little to no money down? Thanks in advance.

Went to another dealer and improved from $754 and 3K out of pocket to $597 and 1100 out of pocket (first and tag). I think this is a decent deal but i'll spend another night researching. That's for the great resource provided...

$65,345 MSRP $59,995 Sales price prior to rebates $2,000 Loyalty rebate $57,995 After rebate $39,860 Residual at 10,000 miles per year $18,135 Depreciation $504 payment prior to lease charge $175 Monthly lease charge after applying money factor of 0.00182
Question: Should depreciation $18,135 be calculated from MSRP or (MSSP - all incentives)?
Residual value is calculated against the MSRP - bottom line number of the factory window sticker.
Then in this case, the depreciation value should be $25,485 (MSRP $65,345 - Residual $39,860) and not $18,135 as quoted by the dealership right?
That is correct.
No, that’s wrong.
Actual depreciation is the difference between the adjusted CAP cost and the residual amount.
You use the MSRP to calculate the residual amount, but you don’t use the MSRP to calculate depreciation.
Oh, duh.
Yes, what my co-host said is correct.
I found mismatch between my calculation and my dealer's. After reviewing numbers line by line with them I learned that they added $925 Acquisition Cost to the Cap Cost which significantly increased my monthly payment.
Is this correct/common practice? Can I offer to pay acquisition cost upfront or arrangement other options to exclude $925 from the calculations?

Every lease has an acquisition fee. BMWFS fee is indeed $925. You listed it in your original post.
Yes, you can pay it upfront, if you don't want it in your lease payment.

The dealer might put it in the CAP cost, to make sure the tax is collected properly. But, you can always add that amount as a CAP cost reduction, and achieve the same purpose.
Sorry about the confusion. This is the accurate and most recent quote; MRSP (with factory-installed options and freight delivery fee)-$69510 Dealer discount and additional savings- $7085 Dealer service/handling fees- $129 Total before tax- $62554.

To conclude this thread, I countered with:
BMW 2019 530e Dark Graphite with Black Dakota Leather and Convenience Package
My MSRP is $55,455 and i'm at $597 with about $1100 drive off. If that helps.. We could both probably chop another 15-25 off if wanted...
Thank you TR561! What I am afraid of is incorrect calculation from my end. I derived my final monthly based on two things: 1) MF of 0.00182 and 2) Discount of 10% of $5,779.50.
Again, assuming that my math is correct then the only thing I could ask is higher dealership discount > 10% because my dealership said 0.00182 is the lowest MF they can do.
Any other route I can do to get another 15-25 off?
Have you put down max multiple security deposits ? You should be at 12-13% off total. 8-10% at least in purchase price and then rebates incentives totaling 12-13%...

I didn't put down any security deposits since he said MF of 0.00182 is his "cost". Did you get MF lower than that I can reference to? There is no incentive or rebate that I am aware of. Could you please share? Thank you...
Completely different things. Tell them you want max msd's and your payment will go down. You'll get the money back when your lease is up
I just spoke with the sales and he said that "BMW multiple security deposits can only be transferred from current BMW leases to new BMW leases. BMW recently changed their MSD rules". Hence, no luck for me in this department as I do not currently lease a BMW model.
Thank you so much for your awesome tip! I am definitely challenging my sales here.

Actual depreciation is the difference between the adjusted CAP cost and the residual amount.
You use the MSRP to calculate the residual amount, but you don’t use the MSRP to calculate depreciation.

With those prices, $590/mo plus tax.
But, you'd pay all fees up front (acquisition fee, dealer fee, registration fee). Add roughly $30/mo for every $1000 of fees you add to the selling price.

Is this correct/common practice? Can I offer to pay acquisition cost upfront or arrangement other options to exclude $925 from the calculations?
You listed it in your original post.
Yes, you can pay it upfront, if you don't want it in your lease payment.

What is the MSRP?
Thanks.
MRSP (with factory-installed options and freight delivery fee)-$69510
Dealer discount and additional savings- $7085
Dealer service/handling fees- $129
Total before tax- $62554.
Like I said, I have no desire to put anything as a down payment. What should I expect to pay monthly (my FICO score is over 750). TIA

BMW 2019 530e Dark Graphite with Black Dakota Leather and Convenience Package
MSRP: $57,795
Dealer Discount: -$5,779.50 @ 10%
CAP: $52,015.50
Residual: $35,254 (MSRP * 61%)
Depreciation: CAP $52,015.50 - Residual $35,254 = $16,761.50
Monthly: $16,761.50 / 36 months = $465.60
Interest: (CAP $52,015.50 + Residual $35,254) * MF 0.00182 = $158.83
Tax: ($465.60 + $158.83) * 7.75% = $48.39
Monthly including tax/interest = $465.60 + $158.83 + $48.39 = $672.82
Down: $0
At Sign-In: ~$2500
Could you please help me double check my numbers and calculations? Does it seem like a reasonable offer? Thank you so much.
Again, assuming that my math is correct then the only thing I could ask is higher dealership discount > 10% because my dealership said 0.00182 is the lowest MF they can do.
Any other route I can do to get another 15-25 off?
Thank you so much for your awesome tip! I am definitely challenging my sales here.
