Perhaps you can give me a little more guidance with negotiating. One Velar I have in mind is listed on their site with a MSRP: 58,305 sale price: 51,822 (with “incentives” which is $4000 cash allowance) I’m pretty sure this Velar is basic, in fact I’m sure I overheard the salesman over the phone quote the MSRP at 54,700– my question, can you typically receive a discount off that price? I have do have a trade in with about 5k negative equity (3 series) and I’m in desperate need of a larger vehicle. What’s the best deal I can get on something like this? His initial quote was:
56,776.46 plus fees and negative equity
69,927.90

36 months 10k miles
3k down 1045
4K down 1016
5k down 988

I haven’t began to really dig into negotiations, but I definitely plan on it.

$5000 negative equity is going to add $150/mo. to any payment.
Your 3-series has five seats, just like a Velar. I'd suck it up, until your negative equity is gone.

If this is the 250S, then the MF is marked up from .00107. Which, sadly, is typical.

Do you know the selling price for that quote? Another common tactic is miniscule discounts from sticker.

Last, we don't recommend so much money up front - just first payment and registration costs should be paid at signing.

Looks like the dealer needs to sharpen their pencil in order to be competitive.

MF is marked up; I'd hold out for the base MF before going any further with the negotiations. If they balk, walk.
