    Hello. I have a deal on a 2019 glc300 rwd 36 months/10k miles
msrp $51,680 adjusted cap cost $45,700
I'm bringing in $2100 cash and $556+tax per month
Would you consider this a "good" lease deal? State is California.

With the prices provided, I get $575/mo plus tax.

I'm guessing some of that $2100 is used as CAP reduction.

We don't track pricing, so can't tell you if there is room to move on that.

The high MF is what hurts you, on that deal.

Hello, am going to close a lease, could you please advise on the following items?

    First class lease protection ($1888)

    3 years/36000 miles maintenance ($1988)

Does it worth to get them? If I don't buy the maintenance, am I entitled to finish 3 years/30000 miles maintenance and how much does it cost in general?

I am in San Jose, CA. Thank you!

Not sure what "first class lease protection" is, but it's probably some sort of wear/tear insurance. Better to pass on high cost insurance plans and pay for those items out of pocket.

I don't think Mercedes includes any maintenance. It's all out of pocket. But, $1988 seems extremely high for the maintenance plan. I don't know the list price of that plan, but I bet it's at least $500 less than that.

Some dealers will residualize the maintenance plan, which helps pay for half of it. If they'll residualize it, and you can get the price under $1500, that would be worth it.

Thank you. Here is the description of first class lease protection, "FCLP will waive specified excess wear and use charges up to a maximum limit of $7,500. This includes excess wear and use amounts on covered single events up to a maximum limit of $2,000 each. It also covers windshield damage charges, missing parts and equipment charges up to $200 per part, and the charge of one missing key fob. Plus with FCLP, there is no deductible. This product does not cover any excess mileage charges, and may not waive the entire balance owed on your lease agreement.". The sale person also claimed it covers tire replacement at the end of the lease if applicable. Does a GLC 4matic with 18.5 wheel generally requires a change of tires at 25000-30000 miles?

We have heard that now Mercedes hires a 3-rd party company and doing the inspection and it costs all sorts of troubles, that's why we are thinking whether to add it.

Thank you for the suggestion on Maintenance. We will try to work it out just to have a peaceful of mind.

Paying $1900 for a maximum of $7500 of insurance protection seems like a bad use of funds.
Tires: What happens if your tires wear out with six months to go? Do you drive on bald tires, because they'll be free at lease end? Do you like filing insurance claims? Just say no.

Third party inspection is a great thing, in my opinion. You never have to wonder what's going to happen at lease end. In my experience, they are very fair.

If you can afford a $600-$800 payment for a vehicle, you should be able to handle the relatively small out-of-pocket charges. Buying expensive extras for "peace of mind" is just bad personal finance. Dealers are professionals at selling these items.

    Sorry, not yet.

From what other members tell us, the NY state incentive has to be applied by the dealership, at time of lease.
There is no Federal incentive for a lessee, though MBFS may pass along some/all of it as a consumer rebate. (which would also be used as a CAP cost reduction).

We are in process of ordering a 2019 GLC 43 fairly loaded (MSRP looks to be $71-73K depending on configuration). Any suggestions on what discounts, if any, when you order a car v. taking one off a lot? It's for the Mrs. (well not the 43 aspect) and she wants the beige interior which is unusual for the sport line.

Could you help me calculate this GLC lease deal that doesn't make sense??

    MSRP : $47,415
    Sales Price : $41,948
    Residual/MF : 56% / 0.00186 (about 4.45%?)
    36 months / 12k miles
    Sales tax : 6%
    Other fees : $795 (acquisition), $210 (documentation), $40(DMV) etc.
    0 down payment

    Dealer's number is $589/month + $1,700 due at signing ($589 first month payment + 795 acquisition + 210 documentation + yadi yada)

What I have in my number is just $589/month with no other fee at all. I think this dealer has double counting of other fees in both monthly payment and due at signing.

Funny thing is, dealer is saying those due at signing fees are 'taxable' so he multiplied those by 6% as well to make up that $1,700.

Could you please correct me if I am wrong?

I show .00156 and 56%, so your dealer is marking up the MF for more profit.

With the MSRP and sales price given, I get $588.37/mo with tax included. If I use the base MF, the payment drops to $566.59/mo with tax.

If the fees were rolled into the selling price, that would be the adjusted CAP cost and the payment would be higher.

Dealer is correct that the doc and acq fees are subject to sales tax.

Is this deal any good? This is the offer I got in NJ. Zip code 08817.
2019 GLC with premium package including drivers assistance. MSRP $52665. Sale price $49665.
    Money factor 0.00114.
    residual value - 10k = 56% $29492 , 12k = 55%
no money down (except DMV fees about $500)
    10k - Monthly payment - $759.
    12k- monthly payment - $782.

does it makes sense ? Please advise.

    AWD?
I confirm the MF and residuals as given.

I get $665/mo for 12K - my guess is, since you are rolling in all taxes and fees, the CAP cost is higher than the sale price.

Get the CAP cost from the dealer, and a complete breakdown of how they arrived at that number.

    Good deal?

What does the $4000 up front consist of? Likely a good chunk of it is CAP reduction.

    Assuming 4Matic, .00114 and 56%

With your prices, I get $635/mo, plus tax.

Yes, 4Matic. He was asking us how much we are willing to put upfront? I told him 4k Max I assume that all goes towards Cap reduction and tax + fees? He told us 571 per month includes everything. so that's $20,556 for 3 years plus initial $4000k? that leaves residual of $26,348 at end if 3 years which comes to 51.7 % ?

Thanks, could you clarify? base off the $50,904 price I should be able to get around $22,398(44%) for a 3 yr /10k lease? or $622 with 0 down. or $511 with $4 K down?

There is a $795 acquisition fee (often marked up to $1095), a several hundred dollar dealer fee, tax on the up front cash, the RMV fees, and the first payment. All of that would be subtracted from the $4K, then the rest is used as CAP reduction. Want to make sure the dealer hasn't slipped any junk fees into that number, so it's important to get a full accounting of it.

In reality, we recommend you only pay the first payment and RMV costs at signing, and roll everything else into the monthly payment. Payment will be higher, but you won't run the risk of losing the up front cash if the car is stolen or totaled.

The existing mileage will definitely have a negative effect on the residual amount.

Could you help me calculate this GLC lease deal?

    GLC 300 4matic
    MSRP : $50,180
    36 months / 12k miles
    Sales tax : 9%
    5000 down payment

Dealer's number is $550/month + $5,000 due at signing. Does it make sense? Thanks

    What is the selling price?
    What ZIP code?

I wouldn't put $5000 down on a lease - just first payment and registration costs.

Selling price is unknown since the dealer gave me the price directly. I did not negotiate with him and left directly since I have no idea about the market.
    ZIP is 95129
