Given the $7275 incentive, that's a terrible deal.
MD lease taxes are high, but you are $2000-$3000 away from an average deal.

In other words when negotiating a lease deal on a $57,000 MSRP vehicle one should be looking at a total discount of around $11,000 or a final price/cap cost around $46,000? is this correct?

Yes - the incentive is on the dealer's side. I have seen recommendations to shoot for 10% off MSRP for the discount. In my case I was able to get a little over 9% off MSRP before the $7275 incentives so you should be able to do better than $11,000. I was also able to qualify for a $1,000 conquest offer bringing my total discount to $13,450 (my MSPR was $55,795), so make sure you look into that. Depending on your situation you could qualify for conquest or loyalty if it meets their criteria.

Unfortunately I have a Honda Pilot and the RDX qualifies for loyalty on a Honda but not the MDX. But your info was very helpful. I am entitled to a $750 veterans rebate though

sorry to be off topic a bit. while leasing the MDX I  forgot to ask for a trailer hitch, I called today and I was told the total price would be, w/o Power harness, 700 + tax, with it is 1200 + tax. I am wondering can we add a third-party trailer hitch (without drilling or cutting anything) on our own? is that allowed in the lease? I couldn't find anything about that in the lease.

Our recommendation is that the only money you pay at signing is the first lease payment and any government imposed registration costs. Add everything else into the cap cost and make it part of the lease payment.

You can modify the car, but you may be required to return the car to the same condition as you received it from the dealer.

Looking at a 2019 MDX Tech w/Aspec AWD. 36/12k in NYC Area (07452)

He quoted 54% residual, but .00225 MF.

He said if I am coming out of a current Honda or Acura lease now, I could qualify for the .00215 money factor, otherwise it is .00225. Is that true or just an outright lie?

As far as pricing goes:

I used TrueCar initially and was quoted a price of $49,564. So I would assume take the $7,275 off of that to come to $42,289.

He quoted $43,970 though as follows:

MSRP: $55,795
Dealer Invoice: $52,419
Dealer Incentive of $7,275 off of Invoice (not sure this is true either, or just a negotiating ploy)
"New" Dealer Invoice = $45,144
Extra True Car Discount = $1,174
Total Selling Price = $43,970

Seems like only giving a discount of $4,550 off of MSRP which is about 8.2%.

I would think I could push lower, but is this terrible?

And again, is MF quote above a lie?

My dealer has an add for $1000 towards any 9-speed 2019 MDX for owner of any 2009 or older ACURA, BMW, MERCEDES, ect ect owners. That's additional $1000 on top of the $7275 dealer incentives?

That is true.. but, you can also make a security deposit, and get the same .00215 MF rate.

There is a Factory to dealer incentive of $7275. That is also true.

I have no information about TrueCar.
However, an additional dealer discount of $4550, in addition to the incentive seems pretty good. That is 8% off MSRP, before deducting the incentive.

Yes, the incentives are all Acura-to-dealer, so you won't see them separately.
$2825 additional discount isn't a lot on a $52K MSRP.
