Thank you. For 12k, is it 1 or 2 more percent over 15k in terms of residual?

Thank you! I have received several price quotes in the $47-48k range, MSRP is $52,295. I have not indicated whether I am buying or leasing. Should I subtract the $3525 lease incentive from these quotes to determine the capitalized cost in my lease payment?

$650 of that is good for lease or finance..

So, lease price should be $2875 less than purchase.

Hi there! Can you guys give me your input on whether this is a good deal or not?

I am currently in a 2016 MDX FWD w/ Tech with 5 payments remaining at $515/month (taxes included). I am allowed 10K miles a year and I'm already at 34,500 miles with 6 months remaining on the lease. I recently changed the tires on this car and did the whole oil change and air filter change works (~$950)

I visited a Florida dealer today and was offered the pull ahead program where they will basically take my out of my current lease and put me into a new one with no fees associated with the mile overage.

    Here are the details:

2019 Acura MDX FWD w/ Tech package 36/10
    MSRP: $50,295
    Sell Price: $44,225
    Residual: 58% $29,171

$1,500 down includes first payment, tax, tag fees
    Monthly payment: $500 (taxes included)

Do you know the adjusted CAP cost for that quote? $1500 won't cover all your up front costs.

I'm not sure I'd 100% believe the dealer when they tell you they can cover your remaining lease obligations - would hate for you to get in the F&I office, only to be told "whoops, the salesman was wrong, it's going to cost you an extra $xx/mo to get you out of your lease early".

Remember - if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

How many miles over do you think you'll be at lease end, with your current driving habits?

One more thing - if you're over miles on your current lease, why would you get back into another 10K per year lease with the new car?

Thank you for responding. See the details below, does this include what you're looking for? Regarding the lease obligations, they said they had 3 months pull ahead from Acura and that the dealer would cover the other 2 payments. I dealt directly with the manager and he assured me that I would get out of my current lease at no cost.
I think I will be about 8K miles over at the end of the lease approximately. I am pushing the dealer to give me the $500 / month at 12K miles annually and I think he'll budge. However the dealer keeps saying that at the end of the lease there is Acura loyalty and they have the ability to wash the additional miles like they are proposing to do with my current lease as well.

I'm wondering if I'm just better off buying my 2016 MDX instead of getting into another lease at this time ...

I agree with the math on that worksheet.

If you're comfortable with the selling price, I don't see anything wrong with your quote.

Looks that way - the only way to improve it is to negotiate a lower selling price.

Can't help you as to whether you should keep your current car or lease a new one.
Thanks for confirming. Is this a good deal for a new lease considering they would take my out of my current lease 5 payments early?
Looks that way - the only way to improve it is to negotiate a lower selling price.
Thanks. How much additional room is there for improvement on the sell price? I've seen numbers all over the place on this forum and can't seem to correlate them to a deal structure similar to mine ...

I'm fairly certain that they can use it on any finance/lease/cash deal. But, it's optional, and not tied to a specific vehicle.

I'm new to leasing and have a few questions.
    1. What is the downside of buying out a car lease early? Lets say after only a few months or a year.
    2. I read when you lease a car you pay for DMV license and tax twice. Once when you initially lease the car and again if you buy it at lease end. Is this correct?
    3. Does it matter if you lease a car from a dealership that is NOT where you will have it serviced?
    4. If I have a trade-in (trade-in is owned), is the trade-in subtracted from depreciation+mf+tax or only from depreciation?

    Thanks for any help.

    1. It will cost you a lot of money; if you want to buy the car, just buy it outright to start with
    2. I don't know what state you live in, but wouldn't you have to pay DMV costs annually?
    3. No
    4. If you have a trade, have the dealer give you a check for any equity; don't use it to bring down your payment

Thanks for your help! I went ahead and got the new lease and turned in my previous lease 5 payments early. Here were the final terms:

Dealer and Acura pull ahead on my 2016 MDX Tech - 5 payments early ($515 / month)
I am now in a MDX Tech Package, 36/12, $1,500 down (includes first payment, tag renewal for 1 year which was coming up anyway), $510 / month (tax included).
I think it's a pretty sweet deal and got to get out of my previous lease which I was going well over on miles!

    Thanks!

Can't help you as to whether you should keep your current car or lease a new one.
Thanks for confirming. Is this a good deal for a new lease considering they would take my out of my current lease 5 payments early?
Looks that way - the only way to improve it is to negotiate a lower selling price.

    Thanks!
    Congrats!

Thanks for coming back and sharing your deal details with us.

The correct residual is 55% for 36/15, not 58%

$564/mo.+tax, so your payment quote looks about right.

I don't know the fee structure in WI, other than the $595 Acura Finance acquisition fee.
Doesn't look like a killer deal, but it would be helpful if we knew the selling price + dealer fee.

The discount isn't that great, considering that it includes the $3525 incentive. But, they've given you a $1500 rebate that is optional (not tied to a specific model), so that helps. I'd guess they maybe have another $1000 to play with. ($30/mo. lower payment, if you get another $1000 off).

Thank you for the feedback. If I also changed the lease to 12,000 miles instead of 15,000, how much would that decrease the monthly payment? Thanks!

Residual goes up 2%, or $1046 = about $30/mo less.

But, make sure you get the number of miles you need, not what will give you a payment you want.

I emailed my local dealer and ended up getting into the 19 MDX Tech 10k miles 3year for 435 month. I figured out a monthly payment that I was happy with. Maybe I could have had a few dollars more off but found my happy spot.

I did pay the fees and such up front 2600 dollars included the sales taxes fees and first payment

Thank you to everyone who helps post the MF, incentives, etc.

Thank you. I defintely don't want to short change myself on miles but I was thinking along the lines of turning in my existing TLX lease, I am 15,000 miles under so I believe I can roll a portion of this forward to the new lease. Has anyone had success doing this?

Not show how you go about it, but it looks like you can get a lot added to your lease if this applies to you and maybe you can even drop to 10k miles if it all applies.

Yes, other posters have reported that unused miles from your current lease can be rolled over to the new Acura lease.

    Two programs
    Base
    All other

So, if it's not base, use the A-Spec numbers.
