    Hello, I am new here, and new to car leasing as well. Based on some study, I got,

    Payment = ((Capitalized Cost - Residual Value) / Number of Months) + ((Capitalized Cost + Residual Value) * Money Factor)

    I'm not quite sure what exactly the capitalized cost is supposed to be: Is it the (base MSRP+option pricing+destination fee) = final "Total price" listed on the window sticker ? Should I take out the various discounts etc ?

    In any case, I'm considering a 2019 Pacifica touring plus, with MSRP 33,245, "Total price" (with options and destination fee)= 39,355, and "Net cost"(after applying some $1500 rebate) advertised as 37,855. For 36 mon/15K miles, I am being offered, with $1600 "drive off" fee (includes registration, first payment and upfront sales tax [from rebate]), monthly payment of $537+tax. Appreciate your opinion on this ? In particular, what should be the "Capitalized cost", "Residual Value", "Money Factor" that I should use to get the payment estimate ?

    And considering the $3000 cash you mentioned above, would 37855-3000=34855 be a good place to begin as an estimate of the "Capitalized Cost" to plug into the formula for monthly payment ?

    If this is alright, I guess I can search more on Edmunds for the "actual selling price" of similar cars (say I may find it to be 38K instead of the 39355 above ? is this correct ?) and try to negotiate more based on those ? Is this the correct line of thinking ?

    Based on some exploration of the TMV, I seem to find that for a car with MSRP around 38K, the TMV is being shown as 36K. Is this reduction (5-6%) a typical number? Or would it typically be significantly larger (say 10-15 %, or even 20%) ? And this TMV is what one would enter into the "Selling price" at the calculator here https://leasehackr.com/calculator , correct ?

    One more (naive) question : On car lease, is there a clear answer to "who will be responsible for the regular maintenance fees (oil change, filter change, etc)" ? By clear answer, I mean is it assumed the dealer will be responsible, or, the Buyer will be responsible ? Or is that also part of negotiation ?

    Also, if I am able to get employee pricing (or family/friends discount) does that mean I negotiate down from that price to get selling price? And then I can expect that selling price to go lower because of rebates? Thanks!

    MF, residual and incentives are set by Chrysler and Chrysler Capital. MF can be marked up by the dealer for extra profit.

    The only negotiable items are selling price and money factor (if it has been marked up)
