How much is due at signing?

Without these details, we'd only be guessing as to why the payment quote is so high.

Purchase incentives are either $2250 with low APR or $3000 for cash or alternate financing.

With $ZERO Due at Signing (not even first payment?), the payment calculation seems pretty close.

It isn't a great lease program. The incentive is all VW to dealer, so inclusive of that discount.

I understand the incentives are dealer-loaded, not consumer-loaded. I anticipated payments to be approx. 1.1% of the MSRP based on previous lease deals advertised locally. Hence my shock when the payment was $100/mo. more than that calculation.
We live in Bucks county so I think the lease tax is 8% here.

0% APR for all newly purchased VW models. The Atlas I’m looking at is FWD. I wanted to go with a 2019 because of the warranty, 6years/72,000 miles. I tried the lease option but as you mentioned, the negative equity kills the deal.

= $2420 effective discount from MSRP.

I think I'd want a bigger discount on a 2019 model.

The 72 month payment is correct, with $0 upfront and 0% APR

You are out the $6000, either way, whether you pay it over a 36 month term or a 72 month term. You still lose $6000.
