You already verified it. Tell them you want the base rate.
So the government cuts interest rates by 25 points and MB increases the interest by 25 points? Guess they have to make up their losses with all the unfinished GLEs sitting in Alabama and Europe.

MF really has nothing to do with what the Fed does. It's more a short term margin lever for MBFS.
According to a blog post from Cox Automotive chief economist Jonathan Smoke, financing data from Dealertrack through the first portion of June showed the average rate on new-vehicle financing rose to 6.54%, up 23 basis points over May. The average used-vehicle rate moved 12 basis points higher from May to 9.96%.
“Credit is tightening for auto loans as lenders demand a higher risk spread,” Smoke wrote. “That tightening is offsetting the downward movement in market rates, so the consumer is not seeing better rates. “Combine higher rates with higher sticker prices, less discounting and lower incentives and it is easy to understand why retail new-vehicle sales are down 4% so far this year,” he continued. This may be part of the reason we are not seeing better rates and deals from MB?
I need the current MF and residual for 2020 GLE 350 and GLE 450 AWD 36 month/10,000 mile zip code 11561. Unfortunately NY doesn’t allow multiple security deposits to lower the interest rate so I’m stuck at the base MF. Also told by local dealer a custom build GLE 450 order now may be available in March.

Hi everyone. 1) Is finishing touch an absolute requirement when leasing? When finalizing the lease deal, they were adamant that this was not something they could remove. They refused to.
2) Is maintenance a requirement in the lease that has to be done every 10k miles? If so, does it make sense to purchase the maintenance package? Should I have negotiated this into the deal?
Thank you. Last night I spent 5.5 hours at the dealer with a good deal I thought until the finishing touch and maintenance came up. Overall, this is what I am trying to get:
Mercedes GLE350w - FWD
MSRP $62,860.00 Residual Value $36,458.80 (58%) 10k per year/ 36 months Negotiated Price $54,000.00 <-- They want $54,600 Fees (Registration, Acquisition, Doc Fees) $0.00 Gross Capitalized Cost $54,000.00 Down Payment/Rebates $0 Adjusted Capitalized Cost $54,000.00 Depreciation Amount $17,541.20 Base Payment $487.26 Rent Charge $103.12 Pre-Tax Lease Payment $590.38 Total Lease Payment $646.46
Drive Off: $767.08 Reg Fee (approx). $2,600.00 MSD's $646.46 first payment $0.00 fine touch <--- they want $895 $0.00 Pre-paid Maintenance <--- they want $895 $795.00 Acq fee <--- they want $1095 $4,808.54 DRIVE OFF
Not sure if the removal of the finishing touch and including pre-paid maintenance and lowered acquisition (they boost it to $1095) is going to fly.

The GLE 350 is either RWD or AWD, not FWD Finishing touch? No idea what that is.. certainly not a requirement for any lease. If they are adding on to your negotiated price, just consider that as less of a discount, and assign it no value. Yes, you have to maintain the vehicle, according to factory standards. $895 seems reasonable, assuming it gets you three services. As noted, your acquisition fee is marked up. Just consider it $300 less discount.
What is your money factor before the MSDs? Afterwards?
Good evening y’all, I would really appreciate your feedback on this deal I’m looking at.
2020 GLE 350 4MATIC in Zip 78752 $73,535 MSRP (has bunch of add-ons) 36 months/12K lease $0 down
I was quoted $1,468/mo prior to any negotiation. I did not ask for a lease worksheet or itemization just yet.
Based on 57% RV and 0.00125 MF I’ve seen quoted on this thread my payment calculations has a delta of $360/mo.
My math is $878.93 (depreciation) + $144.41 (interest) + $84.42 (8.25% taxes) = $1,107.76/mo
What am I missing? And what do you guys think is a reasonable ask to go back with?
Thanks!
.00131 MF and 57% residual, this month
How are you doing a calculation without the selling price or adjusted CAP cost?
If a dealer quotes me a $1400/mo payment on a $70K MSRP vehicle, I'm not going back there to negotiate.
Thanks for your response. Let me take another stab at it and see if I got that right:
Adjusted Cap Cost: $73,585 + 6.25% taxes [forgot this earlier but in TX they collect on entire vehicle sale] = $78,184
Residual Value: $78,184 x 0.57 = $44,564.88
Depreciation: $78,184 - $44,564.88 = $33,619.12
Base Payment: $33,619.12 / 36 = $933.86/mo
Interest: ($78,184 + $44,564.88) x 0.00131 = $160.80/mo
Total Payment (incl taxes): $933.86 + $160.80 = $1,094.66
I’m being quoted $1,468/mo. In this case, dealer is not willing to discount the MSRP ($73,585) claiming it’s a unique build and there’s another buyer (who I saw).
I still don’t get how is there such a delta between my calculation and what dealer is quoting (almost $373/mo). That’s adds up to $13,428 extra fees over the lease term). Am I doing this wrong?

The residual is calculated against the MSRP, not the cap cost.
I still get $1165/mo.
But, where is the acquisition fee? The dealer doc fee? If you aren't paying those up front, they get added to the cap cost and become part of the payment. Not $373/mo worth, mind you, but you're still just guessing at the numbers.
Ask the dealer for a detailed breakdown of their quote, and we can figure out the difference.
MF may also be marked up.
I'd shop a different dealer, or a different model of MB.

@Michaell Thanks for the RV correction and running the numbers. I’m not paying anything upfront but like you said, even if those closing fees are distributed it shouldn’t be more than maybe $50 a month. I wanted to get my footing first but I’ll share the itemization as soon as they send it over.

1) Is finishing touch an absolute requirement when leasing? When finalizing the lease deal, they were adamant that this was not something they could remove. They refused to.

Thank you. Last night I spent 5.5 hours at the dealer with a good deal I thought until the finishing touch and maintenance came up. Overall, this is what I am trying to get:
Mercedes GLE350w - FWD
MSRP $62,860.00
Residual Value $36,458.80 (58%) 10k per year/ 36 months
Negotiated Price $54,000.00 <-- They want $54,600
Fees (Registration, Acquisition, Doc Fees) $0.00
Gross Capitalized Cost $54,000.00
Down Payment/Rebates $0
Adjusted Capitalized Cost $54,000.00
Depreciation Amount $17,541.20
Base Payment $487.26
Rent Charge $103.12
Pre-Tax Lease Payment $590.38
Total Lease Payment $646.46
Drive Off:
$767.08 Reg Fee (approx).
$2,600.00 MSD's
$646.46 first payment
$0.00 fine touch <--- they want $895
$0.00 Pre-paid Maintenance <--- they want $895
$795.00 Acq fee <--- they want $1095
$4,808.54 DRIVE OFF
Not sure if the removal of the finishing touch and including pre-paid maintenance and lowered acquisition (they boost it to $1095) is going to fly.
May I have residual and MF for zip code 91709 for
a) 36/10K
b) 36/7.5K if available

Thanks for your response. Let me take another stab at it and see if I got that right:
Adjusted Cap Cost: $73,585 + 6.25% taxes [forgot this earlier but in TX they collect on entire vehicle sale] = $78,184
Residual Value: $78,184 x 0.57 = $44,564.88
Depreciation: $78,184 - $44,564.88 = $33,619.12
Base Payment: $33,619.12 / 36 = $933.86/mo
Interest: ($78,184 + $44,564.88) x 0.00131 = $160.80/mo
Total Payment (incl taxes): $933.86 + $160.80 = $1,094.66
