2020 4WD with technology package in zip code 11563.

I asked them to price at cap cost $40595, 12K/36 moths with $0 down.

The dealer came back with the response "you're looking at MSRP 52395 and $520.78 monthly plus 88.75 tax on your conquest."

I know in NY, the tax is levied upfront on the lease payment.

What do you guys think about this?

The tax mentioned is the tax on the $1000 rebate. That is in addition to the sales tax on the payments.

Did they give you an adjusted CAP cost with tax and acquisition fee?
Did they disclose the money factor?
What is the amount Due at Signing?

    They provided me with below:
    Residual vaule 28,817.25 (55%)
    Money factor .00225
    Rebate 6,800 lease cash
    First Month 520.78
    Tax on conquest 88.75
    Doc fee 104.16
Due at signing 713.69 + plates
If I add $1500 for sales tax, I'm just a few dollars over that quote.

$12400 off MSRP, with $7800 of incentives seems decent. ($4600 additional discount)

I don't see anything wrong with that deal.
Hi, if I may ask how did you conclude it’s $12400 off MSRP. I asked about selling price and cap cost, they would not tell me via email.
    MSRP = $52,395
    Cap Cost = $40,595

OK, so not $12,400, but rather $11,800.

Dealer who play "hide the numbers" often do so for a reason.
The $595 acquisition fee is in the $40595.

    It's $12400 off.
Thanks. Did you assume the cap cost $40595 (because I said I asked them to price at that) or you actually reversed the calculation and derived at it. As I said earlier, they would not tell me the selling price or cap cost. Thanks.
I assumed that was the number, and when I calculated using that price, I got about the same payment.
The dealer confirmed $40595 was the cap cost used in her calculation. Quick question, is the tax on rebate one time only?
    Yes.

Can you let me know if I should pull the trigger on the following quote:
    7500/36 mos
    Monthly $480
DAS $914.45 (first month plus plates etc)
    Zip code: 11576
    Thank you so much.

What’s are the incentives /rebates on a AWD Base vs AWD Tech purchase in Ohio?

Purchase incentives are the same for either trim

    $1500 for cash/3rd party finance
$6500 for AFS financing at standard rates
$ZERO if you take AFS low rate financing

Is this on top of the Conquest rebate?

Also I assume this is $1500 (cash / 3rd party) OR $6500 (afs)?
No info on Conquest... not included in those numbers.

Yes, three options for incentives.... all or, or, or

Here is the deal I'm looking at potentially.
I live in zip 33908 and I got a couple quotes on a red 2020 MDX with AWD and Tech MSRP $52,795 and here is what I've been told for 10K miles, 36 months, $0 down, 6.5% tax rate.
I'm estimating about $700 in fees.

    Dealer 1 in 33908 (FL)
$588 a month. I don't know what incentives and MF that is, but I know its not a great deal.

Dealer 2 in 11706 (NY) - I'll have to fly up to get the car and drive it back which is not really an issue.
$510 a month. That translates to $6800 in incentives, .00019 MF and a 56% residual. This seems like a pretty good deal, but I'm wondering if I have room to ask for a bit more and if so how much. Also, any chance the 33908 dealer should be able to match this deal?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

The Acura lease numbers are national, so any differences will be due to state fluctuations in fees and such.

You'll avoid the massively overcharged dealer fees in FL (I've seen them up to $999), as the dealer fee is capped at $75 in NY.

How much is due at signing for either of those quotes?
And, what is the selling price?
Don't estimate the fees - ask for a specific breakdown of them so you can do an apples-to-apples comparison.

First month's payment and fees is all that'd be due at signing in both cases. I explicitly asked for no cap cost reduction. Selling price works out to be sticker of $52,795 with $6800 in incentives. I'll have to ask for a more specific breakdown from the FL dealer, but no way he's getting to $588 without either not passing along all the incentives or marking up the MF a lot, right? Should I be shooting for negotiating the selling price then? $1000 off? $2000? I've never negotiated a lease or new car purchase before. Things are easier with a cash deal used car where you only have to worry about the car's price. I think invoice is about $49K give or take.

    Hi,

I'm new to leasing and I got these quotes today for a 2020 MDX with tech package (MSRP $52395) in California 95120.

    Dealer 1:
Took 10k off MSRP (sale price $42395)
    DAS $5459.41
    Monthly: $401
    36/12

(He would not let me photograph the offer so that's the numbers I thought to jot down.) These include tax.

    Dealer 2:
    DAS $3000
    Monthly $537
    36/15

    I assume it includes tax.

I tried to use the numbers for residual and incentives and MF but the dealers are not transparent with that...

I'm inclined to go with the first one if it seems like the DAS can be negotiated down.

Given the above, how would I evaluate it?

Thanks to everyone on this forum who have been so generous with their time and knowledge.

First, I wouldn't start any lease with that much DAS - should be first payment and registration costs, only.

Second, how many miles do you need? One quote is for 12K, the other for 15K.

Ask both dealers to provide you their lease worksheet; should be easier to compare them, at that point.

Hi, if I may ask how did you conclude it’s $12400 off MSRP. I asked about selling price and cap cost, they would not tell me via email.
    MSRP = $52,395

    7500/36

    DAS $914.45
    Congrats!

    Thanks for the report.
I’m scheduled to sign the contract and take delivery on Friday. Is there a list of critical items I should check before the final step? I came up with the following. Anything else I’m missing?

    1. Obviously makes sure all the terms are correct.
    2. Check mileage on the odometer? What’s max acceptable? When I click Carfax in my Geico app, the mileage came up as 118 mileage. That seems high for new car but I’m not sure if it’s just the app. I want to know what’s acceptable so that I can prepare to speak.
    3. While unlikely, make sure no scratch?
    4. Are there free accessories I should be asking?

    Anything else I’m missing? Thanks.

    Residual vaule 28,817.25 (55%)
    Money factor .00225
    Rebate 6,800 lease cash
    First Month 520.78
    Tax on conquest 88.75
    Doc fee 104.16
Due at signing 713.69 + plates
If I add $1500 for sales tax, I'm just a few dollars over that quote.

$12400 off MSRP, with $7800 of incentives seems decent. ($4600 additional discount)

I don't see anything wrong with that deal.
Hi, if I may ask how did you conclude it’s $12400 off MSRP. I asked about selling price and cap cost, they would not tell me via email.
    MSRP = $52,395

I finally pulled the trigger today for pick up on Black Friday.

    7500/36
    $480.01 per month
    DAS $914.45

Thanks.
Yes, check every aspect of the contract. Don't be rushed. Tell them you need 5-10 minutes to look it over.
You are renting the vehicle. Anything under 500 miles wouldn't bother me.
Yes, you should inspect the vehicle.
If you've already made the deal, you are past the point of asking for accessories.

I just want to confirm what I've read in this thread that residuals on 36/12 and 36/15 are the SAME at 55%?

    Hi,

First, I wouldn't start any lease with that much DAS - should be first payment and registration costs, only.
    .

This is a generic question, but what is the thought behind why not pay more than 1st and reg?

Is it because they can probably do the 400/month without it? Or it's smarter to pay more every month?

    Thanks,

If the car is stolen or totaled, you would lose any of that upfront money. And, it masks the true cost of the lease.

Are you expecting to have to replace something significant during the lease term? It's an Acura; it shouldn't need anything but routine service.

And, why would you want to cheap out on the part if you do have to replace something?

Not something we recommend; that money would be lost if the car were to be stolen or totaled, during the lease.

Thanks again. I’m reading the lease agreement and there’s a part that says I agree to have all necessary repairs made using genuine manufacturer’s replacement parts. Is that a standard provision to use “genuine manufacturer’s replacement part”? I think it is but just want to double check.
Are you expecting to have to replace something significant during the lease term? It's an Acura; it shouldn't need anything but routine service.

And, why would you want to cheap out on the part if you do have to replace something?
No, not expecting anything. Just trying to make sure they don’t throw in terms that are non-market standard.
You should not expect to repair/replace anything for 3 years other than the routine maintenance. The Acura has 4 year /50K mile warranty. Acura leases have $1500 excessive wear/damage coverage as well.

    MSRP = $52,395

I finally pulled the trigger today for pick up on Black Friday.

    7500/36
    $480.01 per month
    DAS $914.45

Hey thanks again. I’m glad you bought it, my lease says $750 excessive wear/damage. I’m first time Acura lessee. $1500 is for existing customers?

Hi, new to Forums.. I want to lease a 2020 MDX w/ Tech package and eventually buy it after leasing.. not sure what MF means and the significance of it, so I would REALLY appreciate it if someone can put in plain terms what should I look for as to Purchase price, monthly payment, drive off cost, residual price after lease, and anything else that might be important. MSRP is $50,000.00, I live in Southern California, 91755. Thanks a BUNCH!! :)

    Hi!

    Can you confirm for NJ - 07470 - 10k/36 - on MDX SH-AWD Advance.

Payment - $499/mo includes tax. Look like a great deal to me, aside from ridiculous doc fee.

Apparently this includes this $6800 in incentives. (assuming that's the flex cash) I hadn't seen that listed anywhere else online, but must be in there, given net cap cost of 45,656 on MSRP of 59,145! (I always like this dealer - especially their internet department. No BS.)

    MSRP $59,145
    Selling Price is $47,044.00
    StateTax $1,112.33
    Luxury Tax $188.18
    DMV $304.50
    NJ Tire Tax $7.50
    -$1,500.00 Loyalty
    -$Flex Cash (as supplies last)
    Cap Cost $45,656.33
    Money Factor 0.00212
    Residual $33,712.65 %57% of MSRP

    $2438.55 due at signing includes---
    $595.00 Bank Fee
    $599.00 Documentation Fee
$79.11 Tax on Bank and Doc Fee
    $499.64 first payment
    NJ DMV $304.50
    NJ Tire Tax $7.50
    Luxury Tax $188.18
NJ Tax on $2,500.00 rebate $66.25

Hello, What is the mf for the base model
And residuals for 12/36 and 15k if they have it for northern California. Also any incentives.. I'm debating between purchase and lease, so far the lease is looking like a killer deal with what they sent so far.

    Does Acura allow MSDs?

The flex cash is a separate incentive that dealers can add to deals. I don't think they have any available, and it doesn't appear they subtracted any amount from the numbers you list.

You won't see the $6800 in the deal, because it is Acura-to-dealer. But, it's why they can offer that low selling price.

The money factor should be .00215
I show the residual as 56% for 36/10. Make sure you aren't getting a 36/7.5K lease

NJ tax on rebate amount would imply a $1000 rebate, not $2500 or $1500, so something doesn't match up there.

Looks like a great deal. I would roll the bank and doc fee into the CAP cost, and just have $1200 due at signing, with a payment of $537/mo.

Thank you- how about 36/12? They told my wife .00225?

Also I just called, and he said .00225 unless you are current Acura customer

Is the incentive the same as purchase?

    57% residual

What the dealer said about the money factor is accurate.

    Purchase incentives are smaller

Thanks so much! It's definitely not a 7.5k lease....Also the flex cash was actually 1500 - the deal was written incorrectly there. 1000 loyalty, 1500 flex cash. Not quite sure I can explain the MF and RV slight differences. Any particular reason to cap the bank and doc fees rather than pay them up front?

You'd lose that money if the car were stolen or totaled.

And, it masks the true cost of the lease.
