    Question regarding current Pilot 'Conquest Lease' on their website;
    It says available to owners of 2011 Toyota, etc.....does the term
    'owner' as stated in the offer mean if you are currently leasing that
    brand? Or do you have to own outright/thru financing?

    Generally, it means that if the eligible vehicle is registered to the same address as the new car, it should qualify. Lease or purchase or own outright doesn't matter.

    Can I please get the residual and MF for a 2021 Honda Pilot AWD EX/EX-L? 36/12k zip code 18966

    Here is the deal they quoted me and none of it makes sense to me:

    MSRP: $41,480
    Selling price: $36,500
    MF: .00208
    Residual: 70%
    Monthly payment: $450/month (includes 9% tax), with only first month down

    How are people getting some of these <$400 deals?

    I'll guess that is a 3rd party bank funding the lease.

    To get $450/mo, the cap cost has to be close to $39K; ask the dealer what they've added to the selling price to get to that number.

    Hi, I live in Texas. So the sales taxes will have to be calculated over the full price, not just the residual value as far as I understood from the forum. Now, when and how shall the tax be added? just at the bottom of the calculation, so do all the math without taxes and then add the 6.25% of the adjusted capitalized cost divided by the lease term, to the pre-tax monthly payment? It is not clear which is the number I shall apply the tax to (adj cap cost?) and when (at the end as mentioned, or before that?). Last question.. the tax affects all fees, or is there any fee that comes after tax? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

    Sorry when I wrote "not just the residual value" I meant "not just the depreciation amount".
    The tax amount will be applied to the full selling price of the vehicle.
    Add the tax amount to the CAP cost, before calculating the lease payment, assuming you are rolling the tax in. The tax amount is remitted to the state at lease inception.

    I'm being told there is a $389 doc fee, a $595 acquisition fee, and a $540 inception fee. I am surprised about how much this adds to the monthly payment if you roll it in. Has anyone ever had success getting these fees dropped, other than acquisition fee?

    When you see garbage fees (not the acq.fee), it's best to just adjust your offer to account for them.
    If you are happy with the price before fees, then lower your offer by $1000. Unless you like listening to BS answers.

    1. Is this also the same for transactions in Ohio?
    2. If the tax on the full purchase price is paid at lease inception, is the sales tax then refunded when the vehicle is turned in at lease-end? If not, why should the leasee pay tax on the residual amount although not receiving the benefit of keeping the car?

    Just leased a 2021 Honda Pilot AWD Touring 8 Passenger for $513/month x35 payments (includes taxes/fees/first payment, zero due at signing, sales tax in our zip code is 7.75%), 3 years, 12k miles/yr, all weather mats, residual value 28,084. Seemed like a good deal compared to other other vehicles we looked at (Atlas, Ascent, MDX, Highlander). Just wondering how it compares to what others have negotiated. Thanks in advance for any input.
