If I use the "total price" in the lease calculations, I get $603/mo with tax, assuming $0 DAS.

Using the cap cost in the worksheet, I get $538/mo with tax, but the fees would then be DAS, along with the first payment.

Yep, you'll need to get more information from the dealer to understand that - the acquisition fee and dealer fee are $1200 of it.

We are comparing these two offers. 12k miles vs 15k miles. These quotes include our 7.960% tax.

We see there’s not much difference in payment between the two. Residuals are different. Shouldn't the 12k mile quote be much lower than it is?

The two quotes are different - one has $888 in accessories, the other $199. The first quote also includes sales tax, whereas the second does not.

The difference in residual isn't big enough to overcome those discrepancies. You need to have the dealer explain themselves.

If this is the same vehicle, then the prices should be the same, and only the residual should be different.

Thank you! We are at the dealer now.

We are stepping down a trim level, after learning the exact numbers. We don't need a special wheel package and badging. Tried to justify it at first, but in 36 months we would have paid a stupid $2,000 and change that we did not have to. Our auto insurance would have increased $500 more a year on the Black Edition 😳. Our insurance agent told us this over the phone. Thank God we talked to insurance company before we did this. If we do the Elite trim level, our insurance goes down $200 bucks for the year. That's awesome news!

Besides, the 2021 Honda Pilot Elite has a heated steering wheel and rear dvd for the must haves list for the family. This dealership also sells Acura! We looked at the 2020 MDX again, and it's stunning. The payment was awesome on a lease. The MDX is just too small for the family to be comfortable at the same time.

I'm sharing this to help other folks through their journey. Have a look at this Elite quote for 12k miles.

I still don't understand why the taxes are paid up front - it was my understanding that, in CO, taxes are part of the monthly payment, with the exception of a few cities and towns, which are just a fraction of the total tax amount.

I just asked about this at the dealership. They are telling us that the payment includes our monthly tax and our amount due at signing is only "$611.08", not $1,611.08. I'm confused too. I'm being told that our base payment is $492 and our final payment is $531.48 with 7.960%. Our drive off amount, aka "due at signing" is $611.08 because we have to pay $76.90 tax for receiving a $1,000 incentive?
