Yeah that is definitely true. It even says on the "dealer invoice" that dealers let customers see, something like "this invoice may not reflect any holdbacks, dealer incentives, etc etc, blah blah, and may not reflect the actual cost of the vehicle to the dealer." I figure that's how I was able to get my 06 Accord LX Special edition for 18,926 (including destination) which is 1000 dollars below the "invoice price." :D
  • blaneblane Member Posts: 2,017
No, the factory Navigation System cannot be added to a non-Navi vehicle without ripping it apart in more ways than you could imagine, before trying to put it back together. It's just not economically feasible.

You have two choices. 1) Buy the vehicle factory equipped with Honda's Navigation System, 2) Buy it without the system and purchase a hang-on aftermarket unit, but you won't have all of the voice command features of the built-in.

I got this quote from a local dealer

    2006 Accord LX AT $17860 + tax(6%) + title + 200(doc fee)

    Is it a fair offer?

    Thanks

A lowball to be sure yet they still ask..." Is it a fair offer?"
  • zy1zy1 Member Posts: 31
I post my question here because I have no idea what is a fair deal or good deal.

According to your responses, this is a very good deal. Or it maybe too good to be true. :confuse:
  • isellhondasisellhondas Member Posts: 20,342
You were lowballed but if you can get them to honor that price, you better get in there fast!

Just starting my research and looking to see if anyone in the Tampa area has recently purchased the LX V6 and what were the numbers. Thanks.
  • ckalckal Member Posts: 4
I paid $21,732 on the same vehicle in Milwaukee, WI area. Got a great trade offer ($1500 higher than other dealers I had visited) and closed the deal in about an hour. The trade offer is what sealed it for me.
  • honey69honey69 Member Posts: 3
Thanks Tandy13, I will call Monday and get the price, do you remember the sales person know who sale you the car so i can call him and buy from the same guy. your price looks very good. and sur v6 drive likes a dream, I test drove it. did dealer give you any axtra after market option with the car like wheel lock splash guard and stuff. good luck with your new car.
  • doug52doug52 Member Posts: 25
While never in love with it, $21,400 was tempting - EX, I4, manual- Denver. But waiting now for the camry next month. It may be today's japanese buick, but its new features are hard to ignore. Honda will no doubt imprrove next fall, but my dying subaru cannot wait that long!

Dare I say it - sounds like camry for me! Please talk me out of it!

I am in a similar situation. I am currently looking at the Accord V6 EX and Acura TL, but I want to see the '07 Camry before I make a decision.

The '06 Accord is missing a few features that I'm sure will be added next year like Bluetooth compatibility and MP3 player interface. Does anyone know any other plans for the '07 Accord? When is the Accord due for a redesign? If they would do nothing but change the exterior styling to look more like the Acura TL this car would sell like crazy.

I am ready to buy a car NOW, but I can wait up to year if something in the '07 lineup is worth waiting for.
  • jaxs1jaxs1 Member Posts: 2,697
You shouldn't be "sure" that bluetooth or any new feature is going to be added to the 2007 Accord. Even the TL doesn't play MP3 discs.
The Accord was just updated for 2006 and the next year is the last year before a complete redesign. Maybe the redesigned 2008 Accords will have Bluetooth and will likely have mp3 playback by then since the new Civic plays mp3 discs.

Some people wnat things that the masses (like me)couldn't care less about.

Why not just add those items aftermarket?
  • milnarmilnar Member Posts: 3
Bought this new car at VIP Honda in NJ for selling price of $21,610 plus destination, tax, and title. Incredible deal!
  • philliplcphilliplc Member Posts: 136
zy1, that is not a realistic price for an lx, but it IS a typical low-end price for a vp auto, so your dealer may be trying some type of bait and switch.
  • car_crazy1car_crazy1 Member Posts: 43
    Milnar,
Does this have leather seats ?
  • blaneblane Member Posts: 2,017
EX-L, by definition, means an EX with Leather seats.
  • car_crazy1car_crazy1 Member Posts: 43
    Blane,
I own an EXL and so I understand what L stands for. However, the price quoted in the above was way too low that I doubt if its an EXL and so making sure. Its almost 1k less than the best sale price on this website unless that car had a few miles on it and so was given away for less money or there is a tradein.
  • dvricedvrice Member Posts: 75
I hope his price is correct. This could mean Honda is offereing some type of dealer incentive. It wouldn't surprise me.

Toyota is offering $1K rebate on the camry, and the '07 camry will hit dealers March 1st.

It would make sense for Honda to offer an incentive to persuade potential camry buyers.

I personally plan to wait until the '07 camry arrives to make my purchase. I plan to purchase an Accord V6 EX unless the new Camry really impresses me.

Are there any Honda dealers or people with inside Honda information to know if any incentives are being offered?
  • isellhondasisellhondas Member Posts: 20,342
Accords are selling faster than Honda can produce them. No need to incentives on cars we don't have!
  • chan101quachan101qua Member Posts: 26
They are already offer marketting support for LX-V6 model. I hope they will extend that for all other model once the Camry 07 come out. The Camry 07 look quite good, so if Honda doesn't offer any price break, Toyota will be happy, and Toyota's worker will have to work overtime to meet demand.

BTW, the Camry 07 LE have equal or more feather compare with the LX SE of Accord.
  • thebillthebill Member Posts: 194
I am not scared of the new Camry, the front end looks like a Mazda and its Hybrid doesnt have the guts to appeal to the Accord Hybrid buyers.
  • isellhondasisellhondas Member Posts: 20,342
    I don't know about this, it's possible I suppose.

I sell a LOT of Hondas and I'll bet it's been three years since I've sold an LX V-6. Very slow sellers.

I'm not at all concerned anyway since Honda and Toyota owners seem to be pretty loyal to the brand.
  • jaxs1jaxs1 Member Posts: 2,697
"Accord Hybrid buyers" are a limited market of people looking for more power than an Accord V6, but not just going for the TL instead. EPA mileage is mediocre and test mileage in reviews is worse.
The Camry Hybrid with it's lower price and higher mileage will have a wider appeal. They will not really be direct competitors.

Dude, I think you may be a bit out of touch here. Portable music player integration is fast becoming a must-have feature as millions of people put their music on them, while leaving their CDs to collect dust.

The new Civic has an auxiliary jack for such players. The new Accord in 2008 will definitely have it as well. Acura has just rolled out a dealer-installed full integration kit for iPods (much more than an auxiliary jack).

Bluetooth is also going to trickle downmarket - the new Camry will offer it...This will be especially important as more locales make it illegal to use cell phones while driving - such laws usually exempt hands-free use.
  • isellhondasisellhondas Member Posts: 20,342
But I don't get many inquiries (for now)about these items and I'm, literally, in Microsoft's back yard.

As far as Bluetooth,I'm one of those people who thinks driving while using a cell phone, hands free or not should be illegal.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,330
is a real nice thing. I wish my car had it (the Accord and the ody). At least with the integrated XM on the Accord, I don't really miss the ipod.

What's really annoying is that the radio has the plug, you just can't get to it withoug dismantaling the dash and running wires! All they need to do is put the aux plugs on the front (RCA jacks) like you get on a VCR, and you can run any device cleaner than using a headphone output.

Yes,it does. I know it is an incredible price, that's what I had said in my post. I got internet quotes from 2 dealers and took the lower one to this dealer who beat it by $100. It was on a Fri - the day before the big snow in the Northeast.
  • car_crazy1car_crazy1 Member Posts: 43
Thats an amazing deal. How much was the destination, documentation charges ?
  • steve91steve91 Member Posts: 3
    I purchased a EX V6 w/ Nav for $28,500 drive out.
  • djm2djm2 Member Posts: 712
I agree with you about "Cell Phone Use"! In general, people who use these devices, tend to be all over the road with regards to controling their vehicle. Where are the police when you need them?---- Best regards. --- Dwayne ;)
  • tandy_13tandy_13 Member Posts: 43
As the host said I can't really give out salesperson info.
But I didn't get any after market option (actually didn't negotiate for one either).
You can definitely try. As I understand the new camry is coming out next month. So maybe they will throw in a few freebies.
    PT.
  • milnarmilnar Member Posts: 3
destination charges do not vary from dealer to dealer($550), the doc fee was $198.
  • thebillthebill Member Posts: 194
ATTN: Destination is not something that is negotiated. You can get a discount of 550 dollars but that does not mean that destination was removed.
  • elenadelenad Member Posts: 11
Hi All. I am selling my 2003 Accord LX. It has 55K miles on it. How much do you think I can get for it? I am in Boston, MA area. Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks.
  • kodachrome56kodachrome56 Member Posts: 14
Great price for a LX SE AT. What was the actual cost of the car before TTL were added on. Cost+ dest ?????
    Thanks
  • thebillthebill Member Posts: 194
Destination is included, you cant get around that.
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
That depends on if you are trading or selling. I assume it is an Automatic. If your car is in good condition and you are trading, $10,000 would be about the blue book value you should get. If selling it yourself and in good condition, you should ask around $13,000, and settle around $12k or higher. Don't take a dime under $10,000 when getting rid of it. Sell it yourself and make a couple thousand bucks! Accord's are popular w/their fuel mileage.
  • elenadelenad Member Posts: 11
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I am selling it, since I already got a new car (Acura TSX). I was hoping to get $13K for it, but it seems like it not the case....
  • thegraduatethegraduate Member Posts: 9,731
Well, go to kbb.com, click the link(s) for used car...

You can often get more than the blue book says...I got offered $2500 trade-in on my 1996 Accord that blue-books for $1700. I kept the car anyway.

$13K does not seem unreasonable if it is in excellent condition (no carpet stains, impeccable service record, etc..)
