Hi: I listed post 2658 too. Forget THEIR invoice, it does not show what they payed, it shows a fictional cost sheet. Cost and amount payed are very different things.
LE-V6 MSRP 23,040......invoice 20505 CF mats 189..........inv 115 AW alum whe 410.........inv 328 leather is dealer installed in a LE series
Looking at the fictional invoice above, I assume you live in SE US.
Your offer: 20,505 x 5% = 21530 + CF mats 149 + AW wheels 368 + .75 of dealer leather cost + 635 destination in SE US + 634 Admin fee (must include Title, tag, registration ---------------------- Your offer
Your grocer, lawyer, and Walmart all of costs of doing business. They don't make you pay advertising, utilities costs, etc., so don't take dealer supplied invoices with much credibility. Good luck to you.
Well said. This is why I'm wondering where I can get the data for the ACTUAL invoice issued to most dealers. I know it can vary from dealer to dealer, etc... but I need something that has some degree of reliability for the purpose of calculating my initial offer. Since I won't have access to a specific dealer's actual invoice (i.e. the price he paid to Toyota, which may be a few hundred bucks either way) just simply being within a reasonable proximity to the amount that dealer paid is good enough for me.
Edmunds seems to have some reasonably decent data, but since I don't know the basis for it, it's difficult to determine whether it's a good starting point. Likewise, the "TMV Pricing" seems a bit higher than what people on this board actually paid, as well as the proferred "fair price" of 5% over invoice (2% holdback + 3% of the price of the car + TTL)
Keep in mind, $18,999 seems to be a fairly good deal for a 2007 LE Camry, so they may be selling them as fast as they can get them in. I would suggest telling them to reserve one for you as they come in if you're serious on getting one.
As for me, my wife in the end did not like the 07 Camry look interior wise as the console seemed to make it look longer than what she was comfortable with. Personally I like the Camry, but I'm a little biased, lol. We ended up going with a different manufacturer in the end.
'07 camry le, auto trans, no options. had a quote for 19500 from a green bay dealer and sent $500 personal check yesterday. this morning i got a quote of $18833 from a place in milwaukee good only til wednesday 4/19. says to pick a color, put down a deposit and its good to go. states there is a free 10 yr, 100K warranty. this is verging on too good to be true.
I am really debating between the 4 cyl 5spd auto or V6 6 spd auto. The V6 w/6 spd auto is only 2 mpg EPA est apart from the 4 cyl. If it can achieve those numbers, it is worth the investment for me. Anyone who closes a deal on a V6 auto, please stop by the real world mpg page and give us some feedback. Thanks
What are the specifications of this Camry, e.g. 4cly, options? For reference a 2006 SE with spoiler, alloy wheels, sunroof, and JBL stereo typically sold for $19K. I realize I'm comparing the last generation to the current one ... however I don't think the price should differ significantly.
I hope that was sarcastic. Obviously the older generation will be deeply discounted since they are deemed 'less desirable' and need the discout. If oyu can buy a 2007 for the same price as the equal trim/options level of a 2006, you are either getting the deal of a lifetime on the 2007 or gettgin ripped of on the 2006. Guess which is more likely the case?
I hope it all works out for you. May I share one caveat and offer one piece of advice for you? When dealer offers are very different as has happened for you, shift to an OTD (out the door) price as the figure of negotiating. Some will offer numbers that include destination fees, some will not.....watch for this! An OTD is exactly that and if you get to the settlement table and the figure differs from what was negotiated, WALK!
Always use a credit card for deposits as they can be easily cancelled if needed. Once the dealership has your money, it is very difficult to get it back without buying a car from them. This is one way many dealers take the buyer's leverage away.
Mossy Toyota in San Diego advertised $18,996 plus sales tax and license for a 2007 Camry LE (4cyl, auto, floormats, MSRP $21,279, alleged dealer cost of $19,280, Edmunds dealer cost $19,042). Toyota Carlsbad, Kearny Mesa Toyota, and Toyota of Orange would match it. Neither Toyota of Hollywood, North Hollywood Toyota, nor Toyota of Cerritos would even bother trying to match the deal. Mossy and Carlsbad wanted $1430 and $1300, respectively, for the Toyota Platinum 7yr/75,000 mile, 0 deductible warranty. I plan on getting mine from Toyota of Greenfield, MA or one of the other dealers mentioned in Posting #862 (Toyota Avalon: Prices Paid)for less than half those figures. I plan to check with the other dealers this week on the extended warranty prices. I have personally bought 2 vehicles and helped with a friend's purchase of a third in the last 6 months, and I have found this site to be absolutely invaluable for pricing information. Good luck, let us know how you make out, and let me know if you find a better deal on the extended warranty. Thanks!
I saw Wondries Toyota is selling their 07 Camry LE 4 cyl. for only $18,888. Too bad, I got mine from Tustin Toyota 4 weeks ago at $800 over invoice. How much money have you spent on check out the new Camry? btw, I bought my 6/100K/0 deductible Toyota Extra Care from Mechanicsville Toyota. They gave me the cheapest price, $100 cheaper than what Greenfield quoted to me.
Not entirely, I also purchased my 2005 SE (with same options) for less than 19K. For the last two years it wasn't uncommon to see SEs listed for 19K or less. With the release of a new model it isn't unusual for dealers to stick close to MSRP. However, eventually prices will drop; especially with a volume seller like the Camry. I guess it depends on if one is willing to delay purchase until this occurs.
That is obviously what I meant. With the new model on the lot (and being there for less than 2 months) you will find deep discounts on the older style.
If I could get LE for $18,888 I'd be there! I'm having trouble finding aloe green here in so. cal. The only one that seems to have it in stock is Longo which is about an hour and a half from me. They gave me an internet quote that was the highest of about five others at $19,998. I can do much better than that. Claremont Toyota gave me a quote of $19,275. That seemed low compared to others who averaged at around $19,500. Claremont is best so far. What do ya think?
What did you mean? I stated that the price I quoted--$19K wasn't just for discounted models. Rather, this price was common well before the new Camry was released.
My point is, the dealers are currently asking and getting near MSRP prices for the Camry. This isn't uncommon for any product that's newly released or redesigned. I'm certain, that given some time, the prices will come down. It may be possible (eventually) to purchase a 2007 Camry SE (4 cyl) for under $20K.

Where did you just fly in from?
I have an '07 XLE now that I bought for $2,400 under MSRP 2 weeks after they came out.
If I wanted an SE manual, I could buy one this week for under $20,000. Automatic for under $20,900.
The problem with the SE (4cyl) model in california is that they are only coming in a certain configuration. It has the JBL, moonroof and spoiler pre installed. That adds about $2000 to the price. I got a quote of $22,900 on the Camry SE (4cyl) here in northern california. Trying to do better
Thanks for the information about the Toyota Extra Care Warranty from Mechanicsville Toyota. I will check with them tomorrow. Fortunately, armed with the Mossy advertisement, the only thing I had to spend on checking out the prices of the new Camry was about an hour's time on the telephone with a few dealer's sales or internet managers and about 15 minutes reviewing this website.
I actually wandered into the Mossy dealership last weekend and saw the advertised prices on the cars. Assuming that L.A. or Orange county pricing would be cheaper, I called some of the L.A. and O.C. dealers I was most familiar with and asked if they could better the price I could get locally. I had also placed inquiries with the Edmunds.com website, so other dealers were generally calling me to follow-up with me. I forgot to check with Wondries Toyota (Alhambra), and they are apparently advertising 18,888. I remember them having great prices when I bought my 2001 Landcruiser, but all they could do at the time was match my $10,000 off list that I could get locally in San Diego, so I bought locally in San Diego. Good luck! If you are inclined towards extended warranties, I know that Toyota of Greenfield, Mass does a good business in mail order sales of the Toyota Platinum Warranty for about 40% off the Toyota Financial Services Website list prices. There are a few other dealers that might be worth checking as well.
I see your point, though I question the need for sarcastic comments. To make my assertion more accurate, I should have stated, "many dealers are currently asking and getting near MSRP prices for the Camry."
If I wanted an SE manual, I could buy one this week for under $20,000. Automatic for under $20,900.
Sounds like you can purchase an SE for a good price ... in your area.

My comments were originally directed at this post. Also my comments weren't intended to criticize this person or the quote they obtained. Rather, my intent was simply to point out that this car can possibly be purchased for much less. Of course many factors must be considered, local economy, supply and demand, and what consumers are currently willing to pay for this product.
Can you please tell me the dealer info, I am trying to get a price quote of few hundred dollars above invoice for special order in NJ but so far no success
Hi I live in PA. 30 minutes west of Philly. I'm trying to find out what fees toyota is going to charge me for my new 2007 Camry. I'd also like to have a ballpark number for the total cost of these fees. I'm trying to get my numbers in order, so I can make an OTD offer. Thanks Ralph

I concur. Also, $300 above invoice sounds like a good deal. If you don't mind me asking, what options did you select? I really like my 05 SE, but I have to agree that the new model looks really nice. I may look at purchasing a new SE in 4-5 years ... this time I think I'll go for the V-6.
Check www.fitzmall.com for Camry Invoice Prices. They are pricing their 2007's at about $1000 over invoice, plus a $99. Doc Fee. Be careful on the Doc Fees because some Toyota dealers may ask up to $500 here for a little paper work. www.koons.com has more listings, however it is very difficult to determine exactly the options on each car (A secret I guess). www.kbb.com has a good pricing breakdown but they do not give the TDA which is included in the Invoice. Good Luck.
i was always wondering how does one get a good deal on a camry or any car in demand for that matter...
if i walk into a dealership and say i want a camry with certain specs and they say they don't have one, but they can "locate" one (at a different dealership), can we assume he has less margin, since he now has to buy it from a different dealership?
i'd like to get a fully loaded 07 camry xle v6, but just checking local inventories online indicate there aren't too many ordered that way...
question is... can you get the best deal for cars that a dealer has in stock? how about ordering them to your specs? or "locating" from a different dealership?
I been reading this website for almost a year and this is my first posting. I get a quote for 07 Camry LE V6 no additional option for $23,400 OTD. Do you guys think this is a good deal or can I do better?
Can anyone recommend an Ohio dealer that will give a fair deal? I'm looking for an XLE V6, probably through a dealer trade, and I'm willing to pay $1000 over invoice, but here in Dayton they act like these cars are demanding MSRP. I'm happy to travel to other cities or even neighboring states!
I'm happy w/ the deal we got from Tansky Toyota in Columbus. On a stock vehicle they were willing to deal, although we ended up ordering a V6 SE (still a very fair offer on the SE and our trade). About a week ago they still had a decent selection.
Our ability to negotiate may have been helped by the fact that we purchased ours before the advertising blitz started (about a month ago). We still don't have an ETA for the car, but Toyota has officially "allocated" a production vehicle (meaning they will build one to our specs).
I ordered from Toyota of Grand Rapids in Michigan.
They originally gave me that price on an SE they had on its way. It was the color I wanted but it lacked a few options I had wanted. So I was all set to purchase it and then asked if I add on some other items. In the end I got what I wanted and they kept their pricing the same even though they had to order it.

The features I need are....
- Full Leather
- V6
- IPOD Hook up
- Heated Seats
- Automatic Adjustable Seats
- JBL Stereo
I really don't care about any other features.... Thanks
I am really serious to getting one. Could you or somebody tell me the process how to reserve one from them?
Not knowing your state or it's sales tax percentage, it's hard to know what the dealer will make on your deal...but it's pretty good.
Does dealers accept cash as a down payment (about 15K)?
I didn't have time to make a deposit.
Thanks...
Depends on your driving conditions and or how much you want to stop light race.

No nj dealer has quoted that low - yet.
Also, fitzmall is now posting 1000 over factory invoice. It seems that the prices are actually going up.
Thanks,

Read it again.
It says "MSRP" not "invoice"!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you have a chance to make a deal on what you want.

i read it just fine, typed it wrong. I don't type much.
