Have purchased a vehicle from this dealer in the past and did not trade in any vehicle.
Anyone heard when the 2010 Convertibles will become available?
So basically do you guys think I can negotiate for another $431 bucks or more, or should the tint/wheel locks pretty much make up for it?
Thanks for your help!
Tint and lugs are not worth $431 (maybe $200 tops) unless you're going with some expensive film, in which case i wouldn't trust the dealer's service department with it, they are usually amateurs in a volume operation, but that's just my opinion based on limited dealership sample.
I didn't expect them to drop too much as I was planning on using the special 1.9%/60mo financing deal, but really? Only $1000 below MSRP?
Anyone get a deal WITH the special financing, or is it a lost cause?
"I was offered 33,298 from another dealer, which includes Tint and wheel locks. Will you be able to beat this price by at least 500 bucks? I actually live 10 mins from this dealership, so it would be much more convient, however, if you could make the drive worthwhile, then I would definitely consider."
Salesmen replied back with:
"Our car also has tint and wheel locks as well as the first two years of free maintenance. So because you live 30 min. from us you think a $500 discount justifies it. It sounds like you pay too much for gas. No sir my price is final."
I am in disbelief and will not be bringing my business to this dealership. Any idea how I can get the names of regional/district managers in my area?
There are 4 dealerships in my city, 2 of them will not beat my price of $33,298, so I'm down to really waiting for one more response.
Thanks for your help! I plan on going to the dealership tomorrow after work.
So 35,034 - 33,278 = 1,756 under invoice. Not sure if you're looking for their financing but there is a total of 3,500 rebates in Dec if you bring your own. So you should get it at $3,500 below invoice. Depending on where it is you will have to ship the car and that cost will depend on where they are shipping it from. Have you looked around within driving distance in your state? Edmunds has a great dealer locator and most dealers have online inventory search.
BOA is offering rates around 3.7% if you borrow over 25K and 3.95% if you're borrowing less than 25K (hint: take over 25K and pay down the remainder of what you were going to put down on the first payment, it'll take it off your principal)
We bought my wife's car at local dealership and they had to ship it from across the state and we still got invoice - full rebates (coupe). But i could have bought the same exact car from a dealrship across town but had an existing relationship with "my" dealer.
btw/ if you're stuck with shipping from a "long" distance, go fro the navi from a local dealre and you'll be close to the same price and get an extra option (I like the navi).
I thought his reply was kind of funny - 30 minutes, implies 30 miles which is about 2 gallons of gas - which is about $6 - and you asked for $500...that is kinda of funny if you think about it.
I think the bottom line is if you can get someone to go $3500 back of invoice on a G sedan - you have done a fantastic job and you should get the car - they are worth it!
So I've been shopping around for a G37x coupe (Fully loaded), the best deal I've gotten is $35,500 OTD, does that sound decent?
Thanks for the help.

Illuminated Kick Plates
However, I have never seen my kick plates become illuminated. I questioned the dealer, and was told that there is a sensor and that they only come on when it is dark outside.I have driven my car plenty of times in the dark and have yet to see them turn on. I have not spoken with the dealer since that conversation.
I double checked the VIN# on the sticker and on my car and they are the same. Since I thought that my car had the illuminated kick plates, and the sticker says they should, but they are not present on my car, what should I do? Maybe I am missing something, but I can't figure it out.
Does the dealer have to do anything for me to make up for the error since we already made the deal?
This is probably in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find one that seemed any more suitable than this one.
Thanks for the help.
Or... pull the car in the garage at night... leave the lights off (in the garage).. then, open the door... (come back and tell us if they light up!)

Yes that price is with the premium package included...I'm going to the dealership today to pick up
If I take it to the dealer (which is sort of a pain for such a small issue since they are 25 miles away) and they determine that I don't have them, what will they even do?
I imagine they will just tell me that my car doesn't have them and then tell me to get on my way.....thereby wasting half of my day. Seems like a lose-lose situation to me (I believe that the illuminated kick plates cannot be added on at the dealer but must come pre-installed from the factory).
So is there any sort of compensation that I could expect in return?
Maybe the dealers that frequent this thread could chime in and give you some in-house advice.
Also, I wanted to make sure that I'm being reasonable (maybe they could say that because I took delivery about 6 weeks ago that it is too late??)...I just wasn't sure how to approach the dealer the proper way.
Thanks m6user and rhard49 for your responses.
Read: The dealer by law I'm sure owes you those illuminated sill panels. A previous writer is correct, any respectable dealership wouldnt even argue over it or shuffle you off (as it sounds like has been done). Remember you are the customer. You just spent 35 large on a piece of machinery and its missing a whistle. Bells alone just isn't cutting it. You paid for bells AND whistles!
Speak to a manager, explain to them that you purchased the vehicle under the impression that it had illuminated sills. Show them the paper if you still have it (which I hope you do!) showing that the vehicle was listed as having them. A good manager will install the part immediately if they have it in stock. It may be worth taking a loaner during the service(which you should have no qualms about requesting if you feel inconvenienced!), but if they have to order it theres no reason for a loaner while waiting on the part. I would hope it was not intentionally left off your vehicle, I like to think the best of people. It sounds to me like the dealership is just giving you the runaround, and thats unacceptable.
Go get your whistle!
Service Man
1) cash purchase: $33895+ttl. or
2) lease: capitalized cost = 33895+2500, 56% residual, 0.00125mf, 39 months, 10k/yr miles, zero down and that translates into about $420 monthly payments before taxes. the dealer chip'd in another $200 against first payment and free oil changes over the first 3-yrs.
my calculation suggests that that's about 400 below invoice and the dealer said they lost $500 on the lease - fat chance.
we are likely to go with the cash purchase though.
Also, I was set on going there and picking out a coupe, but for practical reasons my mind kept telling me the sedan is a better choice. Did anyone else have this kind of self-debate? I've never owned a 2 door car, so I'm not fully aware of the inconveniences down the road. Could someone share their experience in this area maybe?
Thats a great deal....if you don't mind sharing what dealership did you go to?
1. Sharper looking IMO.
2. ??? May handle better than the 4dr but I have read nothing nor have any experience to document that. If so it is probably negligible.
Coupe Minuses:
1. Smaller and harder to use backseat. Not really an issue if no kids or rarely carry back seat passengers. However, if you like to throw stuff in the back seat it can be harder getting it in and retrieving it.
2. Lot smaller trunk than the 4dr.
3. Big doors to accomadate back seat access. Harder to navigate in parking lots because the door swings wider. I usually stay away from parking next to two door cars if possible when I have a newer car because I don't want to get dinged. If you have tight garage this might also be a consideration.
4. Insurance is probably higher for the coupe.
Offered invoice minus the $3500 in incentive cash on the same G37x sedan w/premium. Dealer refused, saying that they wouldn't make any money on the deal. They wanted $2000 more, so I began to walk. Got stopped twice on the way out with the manager offering to come $500 closer to my offer each time, but it just didn't feel right so I thanked them for their time and left.
Hard to justify wasting money on a new car (even if i can do it comfortably), likewise hard to justify giving up on usuable rear seats and a decent sized trunk.
1. I have been offered invoice - $1000 with 1.9% APR (60 months) for 09 g37 sedan. Is this a good deal?
2. My dealer told me that any cash incentives is applied after paying sales/local taxes on the sticker price? How about the price difference between sticker and invoice price? Is this difference also applied after paying your taxes?
I live in the bay area, CA.
please chime in.

I told him I'll be back on Tuesday, told them to put in a new battery and buff the car because they just took the protection stickers off, and still had glue on it.
I'm sure I can drop the price a little bit, and use the fact that it's been sitting there for so long and nobody bought it!
Whats a good price then? seeing as edmunds saying that invoice with the packages is 39 large.
Thanks
i bought the G coupe b/c fewer of them have been sold, and of course b/c of the sexier styling. additionally, in my mind the coupe has a younger personality, which is nice b/c im still young. and i plan on doing a few mods, and as such there are more parts for coupes than sedans, like the ironman LED daytime running lights.
As a reference, I'm being offered a Journey Pre/Sport/Nav/Tech w/ window tint, and 19" wheels if i want them for 35.5K. Of course this car has 500mi on it and i'm not interested in the 19" wheels.
I'm wary of the tech package, it seems there is a lot that could go wrong there for the almost no value-to-me trade-off.
Are dealers under some sort of non-disclosure agreement or do they not know this information themselves?
PS - the giants SUCK!
We got $33970 on a car that stickered at $41230.
