This one (invoice - $1000 - $3500)looks to be a great deal. Yes, every dealer in BA is offering $3500 off the invoice price. Don't know if i can get the same deal?
  • squirtmansquirtman Member Posts: 29
I'm sure if people wait even longer they could do better than this, but I have yet to see a better deal posted here - this is a PURCHASE, not a lease:

    - G37x AWD
    - Premium Package
    - Navigation Package
    - Trunk Mat
    - Cargo Net

    MSRP: $41,230
    Selling Price: $33950
    Total discount: $7280

Have purchased a vehicle from this dealer in the past and did not trade in any vehicle.
  • dakineguydakineguy Member Posts: 46
squirtman, where did you get this deal? Sounds great. What color of exterior/interior did you get? Any other add-ons? I've been told that your vehicle is difficult to find when you want to include Technology package too.

I'm going to buy the G37 convertible but I heard that the 2010 models will be coming out in January. If so, I'll wait the month and hopefully the 2009 will drop in price. If not, I'd like to stop wasting time and get the car.

Anyone heard when the 2010 Convertibles will become available?

I sent email to dealers for G37 sedan quote. One of the dealer said there is additional Holiday bonus cash. Not sure if this is something new and how much is that ?
  • mparkmpark Member Posts: 4
You stated in Dallas. Can you tell me which dealer you went to? Thanks
  • schauschau Member Posts: 4
I am looking for an 09 G37 Sedan Black on Black with Premium/Sport package. Also includes splash guard, impact sensor, cargo mat/net. I was quoted $33,278. Do you guys think this is a decent deal, or do I have more bargaining I can do? Thanks!
  • infikininfikin Member Posts: 3
what's the MSRP or invoice ?
  • schauschau Member Posts: 4
infikin - I actually haven't been able to make it to the dealership to see the invoice, however, through edmunds.com, the invoice price with options added up to $36,347. If I were to subtract $3,500 from cash back incentives, then the price would be $32,847, which is $431 less than my quoted price of $33,278. Not sure if this is standard for Infinti's, but my quoted price includes tint and wheel locks.

So basically do you guys think I can negotiate for another $431 bucks or more, or should the tint/wheel locks pretty much make up for it?

    Thanks for your help! :)
  • infikininfikin Member Posts: 3
I think you should be able to get at least $3,500 below the edmunds.com invoice for a sedan. I don't know how much the tint/wheel locks worth. But try to negotiate for more is reasonable.
  • snoopdawgsnoopdawg Member Posts: 25
If you don't go to get the extra 431 I'm seeking William Shatner on you! And make sure it's out the door before ttl to! Especially if it's a car that is on their lot. December is a lonely month for dealers and the 2010's are knocking on their door.

Tint and lugs are not worth $431 (maybe $200 tops) unless you're going with some expensive film, in which case i wouldn't trust the dealer's service department with it, they are usually amateurs in a volume operation, but that's just my opinion based on limited dealership sample.
  • craptacularcraptacular Member Posts: 2
I've been trying to work on a deal at the local Infiniti dealership on a G37x w/premium, but they just don't seem to be willing to drop the price from MSRP at all beyond the $1000 holiday bonus cash. They have quite a bit of stock on the lot, too. You'd think they would be more willing to deal with the 2010s supposedly arriving next month.

I didn't expect them to drop too much as I was planning on using the special 1.9%/60mo financing deal, but really? Only $1000 below MSRP?

Anyone get a deal WITH the special financing, or is it a lost cause?
  • schauschau Member Posts: 4
infikin - From what I've read in the last couple of pages, I also thought that getting at least invoice minus $3500 would be reasonable, however, after inquiring with one dealer the following:

"I was offered 33,298 from another dealer, which includes Tint and wheel locks. Will you be able to beat this price by at least 500 bucks? I actually live 10 mins from this dealership, so it would be much more convient, however, if you could make the drive worthwhile, then I would definitely consider."

    Salesmen replied back with:

"Our car also has tint and wheel locks as well as the first two years of free maintenance. So because you live 30 min. from us you think a $500 discount justifies it. It sounds like you pay too much for gas. No sir my price is final."

I am in disbelief and will not be bringing my business to this dealership. Any idea how I can get the names of regional/district managers in my area?

There are 4 dealerships in my city, 2 of them will not beat my price of $33,298, so I'm down to really waiting for one more response.
  • snoopdawgsnoopdawg Member Posts: 25
Its special financing or the 2500, plus the 1K. But you should be starting at invoice not MSRP. Wait till the end of the month and they'll be a lot more motivated. If you have another dealer close buy go talk to them. My experience is limited to Coupes though but if they have inventory the logic should transfer.
  • schauschau Member Posts: 4
Snoopdawg - The car is actually NOT on their lot. Are you saying I should be able to get this out the door for $33,278? That's like roughly $5,000 under invoice, I like this car alot so I don't want to throw out a totally unreasonable price where they'd just look at me crazy. LOL! A majority of the dealerships I've contacted have black on black with Prem., Sport, and Nav. (which I do not need).

Thanks for your help! I plan on going to the dealership tomorrow after work.
  • snoopdawgsnoopdawg Member Posts: 25
Dealers have no obligation to "beat a deal" or "work with you", only to make money for themselves and the dealership. Give it time and see if they call you back. I still get calls from dealers almost a month after I bought a car.
  • snoopdawgsnoopdawg Member Posts: 25
I'm saying you should be doing a lot better than what they are offering. Using Edmudnds TMV and looking at a G37sedan with prem/sport with the small bling you listed you're looking at 35,034 invoice and 38,060 MSRP. MSRP is for chumps!

So 35,034 - 33,278 = 1,756 under invoice. Not sure if you're looking for their financing but there is a total of 3,500 rebates in Dec if you bring your own. So you should get it at $3,500 below invoice. Depending on where it is you will have to ship the car and that cost will depend on where they are shipping it from. Have you looked around within driving distance in your state? Edmunds has a great dealer locator and most dealers have online inventory search.

BOA is offering rates around 3.7% if you borrow over 25K and 3.95% if you're borrowing less than 25K (hint: take over 25K and pay down the remainder of what you were going to put down on the first payment, it'll take it off your principal)

We bought my wife's car at local dealership and they had to ship it from across the state and we still got invoice - full rebates (coupe). But i could have bought the same exact car from a dealrship across town but had an existing relationship with "my" dealer.

btw/ if you're stuck with shipping from a "long" distance, go fro the navi from a local dealre and you'll be close to the same price and get an extra option (I like the navi).

Regional/District Managers will not care which Infiniti dealership you buy from as long as it is in their district - it is all the same to them.

I thought his reply was kind of funny - 30 minutes, implies 30 miles which is about 2 gallons of gas - which is about $6 - and you asked for $500...that is kinda of funny if you think about it.

I think the bottom line is if you can get someone to go $3500 back of invoice on a G sedan - you have done a fantastic job and you should get the car - they are worth it! :)

    Hey all,
So I've been shopping around for a G37x coupe (Fully loaded), the best deal I've gotten is $35,500 OTD, does that sound decent?

    Thanks for the help.
  • antonio1antonio1 Member Posts: 27
That's your price before Tax, Tag, Title right???
  • n1nja_dn1nja_d Member Posts: 17
No, it's $35,500 AFTER taxes and tags (Out The Door)...
  • antonio1antonio1 Member Posts: 27
Ok, that price is for a g37x without premiun package right???
  • fifreak3fifreak3 Member Posts: 9
I took delivery of my G37 sedan on 10/31 and according to the sticker, it has the following:

    Vehicle Alarm Impact Sensors
    Trunk Cargo Net
    Premium Package
    Illuminated Kick Plates

However, I have never seen my kick plates become illuminated. I questioned the dealer, and was told that there is a sensor and that they only come on when it is dark outside.I have driven my car plenty of times in the dark and have yet to see them turn on. I have not spoken with the dealer since that conversation.

I double checked the VIN# on the sticker and on my car and they are the same. Since I thought that my car had the illuminated kick plates, and the sticker says they should, but they are not present on my car, what should I do? Maybe I am missing something, but I can't figure it out.

Does the dealer have to do anything for me to make up for the error since we already made the deal?

This is probably in the wrong forum, but I couldn't find one that seemed any more suitable than this one.

    Thanks for the help.

Schedule a service appointment.... Tell them your illuminated kick plates aren't illuminating... They'll either fix them (if they aren't working), or they'll tell you that you don't have them...

Or... pull the car in the garage at night... leave the lights off (in the garage).. then, open the door... (come back and tell us if they light up!)

Wow...by fully loaded do you mean pre+nav+tech 2009 G37x coupe? That is an awesome deal! Would you mind sharing where and how did you get this deal? Thanks so much!
  • dham6dham6 Member Posts: 1
Can someone please clarify -- there's currently $2500 marketing support in lieu of special financing on the '09 G37 Sedan. What's the holiday bonus cash of $1000? Is that specifically applied to customers who lease and/or use Infiniti special financing? There's only mention of $1000 lease loyalty cash on Edmunds site.
  • fifreak3fifreak3 Member Posts: 9
Yeah I definitely don't have them, if I did, I would have seen them come on by now.

If I take it to the dealer (which is sort of a pain for such a small issue since they are 25 miles away) and they determine that I don't have them, what will they even do?
I imagine they will just tell me that my car doesn't have them and then tell me to get on my way.....thereby wasting half of my day. Seems like a lose-lose situation to me (I believe that the illuminated kick plates cannot be added on at the dealer but must come pre-installed from the factory).

So is there any sort of compensation that I could expect in return?
  • rhard49rhard49 Member Posts: 226
They are a dealer installed accessory if you paid for them or they're on the receipt somewhere why wouldn't you want them. As a dealer installed accessory they are 250 plus any labor.
  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
It might not be a big deal to you but if I paid around $35k for a car and it was missing an item that I paid for the dealer would either install it(giving me a loaner while he did it) or reimburse me the cost of the item if it was something I could live without. A decent dealer would not even quibble about it.

Maybe the dealers that frequent this thread could chime in and give you some in-house advice.
  • fifreak3fifreak3 Member Posts: 9
The item itself isn't a big deal, but the principle of the issue IS. I'm hoping someone like sewellgsm will let me know what a dealer might say before I take my car in and present the problem to them, just so I have an idea.
Also, I wanted to make sure that I'm being reasonable (maybe they could say that because I took delivery about 6 weeks ago that it is too late??)...I just wasn't sure how to approach the dealer the proper way.

Thanks m6user and rhard49 for your responses.

When vehicles are delivered to a dealership a manager (sales/general/parts, depending on dealership) decides what dealer options to install on what vehicles. The itemized lists that go on the windows are printed at the dealership, and the service department installs the items. Illuminated kick panels are easy to install for a technician (in my humble opinion) and basically what it sounds like to me is it simply slipped through the process uninstalled. It does not need to be installed at the factory.

Read: The dealer by law I'm sure owes you those illuminated sill panels. A previous writer is correct, any respectable dealership wouldnt even argue over it or shuffle you off (as it sounds like has been done). Remember you are the customer. You just spent 35 large on a piece of machinery and its missing a whistle. Bells alone just isn't cutting it. You paid for bells AND whistles!

Speak to a manager, explain to them that you purchased the vehicle under the impression that it had illuminated sills. Show them the paper if you still have it (which I hope you do!) showing that the vehicle was listed as having them. A good manager will install the part immediately if they have it in stock. It may be worth taking a loaner during the service(which you should have no qualms about requesting if you feel inconvenienced!), but if they have to order it theres no reason for a loaner while waiting on the part. I would hope it was not intentionally left off your vehicle, I like to think the best of people. It sounds to me like the dealership is just giving you the runaround, and thats unacceptable.

    Go get your whistle! =)

we just signed the paperwork for ours. g37x, premium + navigation. we agreed on two options:

    1) cash purchase: $33895+ttl. or
    2) lease: capitalized cost = 33895+2500, 56% residual, 0.00125mf, 39 months, 10k/yr miles, zero down and that translates into about $420 monthly payments before taxes. the dealer chip'd in another $200 against first payment and free oil changes over the first 3-yrs.

my calculation suggests that that's about 400 below invoice and the dealer said they lost $500 on the lease - fat chance.

we are likely to go with the cash purchase though.

I just went to my local Sewell Infiniti dealer and they offered me an OTD price of 36220 for a '09 g37 sedan + premium + navigation + tinted windows. Keep in mind this is a DEMO car as well. It has almost 6K miles on it. Do you guys think this is a good purchase? Could I get the same price for a "new" (almost no miles) car?

Also, I was set on going there and picking out a coupe, but for practical reasons my mind kept telling me the sedan is a better choice. Did anyone else have this kind of self-debate? I've never owned a 2 door car, so I'm not fully aware of the inconveniences down the road. Could someone share their experience in this area maybe?

  • m6userm6user Member Posts: 3,181
    Coupe Pros:
    1. Sharper looking IMO.
    2. ??? May handle better than the 4dr but I have read nothing nor have any experience to document that. If so it is probably negligible.

    Coupe Minuses:
    1. Smaller and harder to use backseat. Not really an issue if no kids or rarely carry back seat passengers. However, if you like to throw stuff in the back seat it can be harder getting it in and retrieving it.
    2. Lot smaller trunk than the 4dr.
    3. Big doors to accomadate back seat access. Harder to navigate in parking lots because the door swings wider. I usually stay away from parking next to two door cars if possible when I have a newer car because I don't want to get dinged. If you have tight garage this might also be a consideration.
    4. Insurance is probably higher for the coupe.

Went back in and tried to make a deal without the 1.9% special financing.

Offered invoice minus the $3500 in incentive cash on the same G37x sedan w/premium. Dealer refused, saying that they wouldn't make any money on the deal. They wanted $2000 more, so I began to walk. Got stopped twice on the way out with the manager offering to come $500 closer to my offer each time, but it just didn't feel right so I thanked them for their time and left.
  • axjoke1axjoke1 Member Posts: 11
I've struggled with the Coupe vs Sedan debate as well. I went to test drive a sedan but liked the looks of the coupe much better. But then its hard to go with a car that is less versatile. Previously I had a an Accord coupe and decided to go with a more practical sedan when I replaced it. I've not yet bought a G37, still setting on the fence a bit, because my current Legacy GT only has 40k miles, so I'm not really in need of a car.

Hard to justify wasting money on a new car (even if i can do it comfortably), likewise hard to justify giving up on usuable rear seats and a decent sized trunk.
  • highlhighl Member Posts: 32
I have couple of quick questions
    1. I have been offered invoice - $1000 with 1.9% APR (60 months) for 09 g37 sedan. Is this a good deal?
    2. My dealer told me that any cash incentives is applied after paying sales/local taxes on the sticker price? How about the price difference between sticker and invoice price? Is this difference also applied after paying your taxes?

I live in the bay area, CA.

    please chime in.

G37x sedan, with premium, navigation, spoiler, cargo net, mat. Invoice $38,250, paid $34,458 before tax, ttl---$3,792 below invoice, or -$292 after -$3,500 incentive. Reasonable deal?
  • oreoleooreoleo Member Posts: 1
Dealer is asking for $35.5, I haven't negotiated yet. Went to test drive it and the car has been sitting at an offsite lot for more than half a year, so they dug the car up for me and I stalled once (high clutch engagement) and the car didn't turn back on since the battery was dead, and probably got ruined sitting there.

I told him I'll be back on Tuesday, told them to put in a new battery and buff the car because they just took the protection stickers off, and still had glue on it.

I'm sure I can drop the price a little bit, and use the fact that it's been sitting there for so long and nobody bought it!
Whats a good price then? seeing as edmunds saying that invoice with the packages is 39 large.

    Thanks

hey supra, i have a G coupe and as you know, there are some trade-offs. my last car was an acura tsx, and what i miss are the relatively more spacious backseat and capacious trunk. however, 95% of the time it's fine, as i rarely use the backseat and ive yet to find something too large to fit in the trunk.

i bought the G coupe b/c fewer of them have been sold, and of course b/c of the sexier styling. additionally, in my mind the coupe has a younger personality, which is nice b/c im still young. and i plan on doing a few mods, and as such there are more parts for coupes than sedans, like the ironman LED daytime running lights.

I think they must have about a 1K worth of dealer add-ons. Are they charging for nitrogen filled tires, door guards, paint protection, etc. BTW, I looked for a 6MT and only found about 5 in the US two weeks ago; most were red or had excessive DIOs.

As a reference, I'm being offered a Journey Pre/Sport/Nav/Tech w/ window tint, and 19" wheels if i want them for 35.5K. Of course this car has 500mi on it and i'm not interested in the 19" wheels.

I'm wary of the tech package, it seems there is a lot that could go wrong there for the almost no value-to-me trade-off.

Any one with experience putting cars seats in the G37X ? I am shopping now and will post details on my deal, but want to know if car seats will fit comfortably ? I can't test it myself because my wife and I don't have any children yet. If I buy a new car I'm keeping it for 5-7 years (or more) and we're planning on having a family by then. I'm in the NYC metro area and will shop the 10 + local dealers aggressively and let everyone know what I find out as far as who's the most willing to deal. Thanks.
  • rusduderusdude Member Posts: 41
Any word on when we will get firm pricing on 2010 models and when they'll hit the showrooms? Someone on here mentioned December 16, but - despite the reveal earlier this month - practically nothing new has surfaced regarding '10 models.

Are dealers under some sort of non-disclosure agreement or do they not know this information themselves?
  • squirtmansquirtman Member Posts: 29
Been there, done that. G37x, Premium, Navigation (plus trunk mat, etc.) - $33,970. If you find a dealer in the NY area willing to go below that price please let me know. Good luck with that.

    PS - the giants SUCK!
  • squirtmansquirtman Member Posts: 29
What was the sticker price of the car? That will tell a better story.
We got $33970 on a car that stickered at $41230.
