If anything ever goes wrong with the transmission, it's documented that you've had a problem with it and what the problem was. You probably would have no trouble getting them to replace the transmission for free even out of warranty. I swear! American cars will NEVER get a fair break no matter how great they are.
Anyway, since you're so displeased with it, how much do you want to sell it for? I'm assuming you're complaining about a 300C SRT8 since you posted this on the SRT8 board.
I made my deal, have it in writing, and will wait as long as it takes. I get the feeling that I will take delivery just in time to put it in the garage for winter. By the way, this dealer could only get (2) SRT-8's. I ordered black, another customer ordered the silver. Dealer claims they cannot order additional units.
They have tried to get another for me from local dealers who have them on the lot, but the other dealers want over invoice for the car. Additionally, I added Kicker to it when it became available, so the stock units located so far do not have Kicker.
As I said, I like my garden hose and my cotton towels.
My wife and I would like to hear from anyone who has had or having similar issues with there Chrysler or Dodge. :lemon:
What would you like to see added or deleted?
Just my .02
More importantly, with 300 miles on the car, I noticed all four brake rotors have developed grooves in them with the fronts being worse than the rears. Obviously this is not normal wear. My local dealer says bring it in but I'm hoping to get some information first. Has anyone taken their SRT8 in for this problem? If so, what was done about it? I don't want the rotors machined and I don't want the dealer to just replace them either. It seems to me there's a problem with the brake pads. Any comments from anyone?
Also, someone posted a message recently about his SRT8's poor ride quality. I found mine sitting on a dealer's lot and bought it with the Eagle F1 Supercar 3-season tires. I had the opportunity to drive three other SRT8s before I bought mine. All three had the all-season RSA tires. Although I only put about 20 miles on each car, I think the ride was a little better with the RSAs. I'll find out when it comes time to replace the F1s.
I know I've only complained about the car so far but don't get me wrong. This car is incredible!! Now that I'm past the 300 mile break-in period, I nailed the throttle the other day to merge into traffic from a slow roll and couldn't beleive the acceleration. I sold a '66 Corvette to buy this car. Before that, I had a big block '70 Chevelle SS454. I've driven C4 Corvettes and others. But I've never driven anything with this much right-now, in-your-face thrust. And that's not to mention all the other attributes this machine possesses.
Try that and put some miles in between cycles before you go to the dealership.
1. Lower/open the window using the switch in the normal fashion.
2. Raise/close the window and keep the switch pulled up until you here a faint click.
3. Release the switch.
Simple. Worked for me.
