Here's my deal. It's just a little different because the car is a "corporate" car that only has 4500 miles but I am getting the lease deal like a new car.
2014 535i xdrive MSRP $63150 Sale Price $52000
36mo/20k will be $655/month (that includes taxes Indiana)
$5569 at delivery ($4900 is MSD) Adjusted Residual $33546 Lease Rate Factor .0008
I don't have complete numbers yet on the fees that would give me an exact cap cost. But this sounds like a good deal. What do you think?
.00130 and 58% for 36/15 ... adjusted to .00081 for the MSD
If you need 20K miles per year, why not buy? The extra 15,000 miles will cost you in the neighborhood of $3000, or $83/mo.
Still, $655/mo with taxes for a car that stickers at $63K is a pretty good deal.
That's a good question and one we try to find the right answer for. I own a 2006 750i right now and it is about to get very expensive. I drive back and forth from Indianapolis once each week (usually late at night)and like having a newer/under warranty car. Why does anyone lease, isn't it always the smarter play to buy and drive then keep the car for 10 years vs. lease? I guess the low lease payment on this nice car is an incentive to lease as well
We would like to get the MF and Residuals for both the 528i and 535i please. 24mon 15k miles yr. Is there any special lease deals right now? 27mon etc?

.00130 MF and 63% residual for either model. $2000 Holiday Credit.
The only special lease term is 39 months. .00130 MF and 58% residual.
Thank you. A point of clarification while i am debating the merits of 36mth (preferable) vs 39mth lease. Is the RV and MF the same for the 36mth as it is for the 39mth? If not, do you have the numbers for 36mth?
BTW, do you happen to know what the current 1-time pay lease rate (MF) is?
Thanks again!
I don't think BMW is offering any One-Pay MF discounts from the subvented rate of .00130. If they are still offering the .00080 discount, it would be off the "standard" money factor, which is around .00180.. So, maybe a small discount.. certainly not enough to make it worth paying the full lease upfront.

The residual for 36 months is actually lower than 39 months on this program..
So, your debate on the merits is pretty much a moot point.
Hi there! I'm trying to pull the trigger on a 2015 550 xDrive. The dealer just sent me the following numbers and when asked for MF and residual, I was told they're plugging in 0.00137 and 59% respectively. I already know the MF should be 0.0013 based on prior posts and will address, but can you help me validate the residual? It seems very low on a 10K lease, I was expecting something closer to 61% or even 62%? Is it just a bad time to be shopping for a 550? Do you think I can do better with the selling price?

With your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $791.70/mo for 39 months. What state do you live in? I ask as the sales tax obligations vary.
There might be more room to bring down the selling price.
I'm in Illinois, which is causing some confusion as well. I believe the lease tax rules are changing for 2015. One more question, am I better off going for a 24 month lease? Not sure if the residual would make more sense with the 24/10 scenario? Thanks again!!

At the moment, IL taxes the entire selling price of the car. The law is changing on 1/1/15 so that only the monthly payment in a lease is subject to sales tax.
39 months is the sweet spot for BMW leases this month.
Looking for estimated monthly payment on 2015 528xi ($58,450.00 MSRP) with cold weather and premium packages. 39 month lease. 15K miles. Everything (i.e. taxes, fees, etc.) rolled into lease. Also, would Residual be 63% and MF .0013 for this? New York. Thx.

We would need to know the net cap cost to figure a payment.
Model: 528i MSRP: 52700 Selling price: 45995 0 due at signing. 0 out of pocket 15kmiles per year 39months monthly payment: 571 plus tax (florida)
is this a good deal?
The selling price certainly looks good.
But, to get to your payment number, you have to add $3200 to the selling price. Other than the 1st payment and $725 acquisition fee, what other costs are being rolled in? (or, if it's less than $3200, what amount are they marking up the money factor?).
Thanks for your reply. Mi understanding is that the money factor they are using is 0.0013. No other costs are being rolled in.
Well... there have to be other costs rolled in.. There is an acquisition fee, title/license fees.. and maybe a big dealer document fee. Also, the 1st payment.. Those amounts have to be accounted for, somehow.
You should ask your dealer for the net CAP cost. I think you'll find that the number is substantially more than your selling price.
If we just went by your MSRP and selling price the payment would be $495/mo.+tax
I'm assuming that some of the down payment is meant to offset the negative equity in the trade. If it's a wash, then $500/mo for a car that stickers at $53K is a pretty good deal.
Base MF and over $6000 off sticker - $2000 of which is the holiday cash available from BMW.
Term: 39 months Money Factor: .00081 (originally .0013 but reduced by 7 MSDs at a .00007 reduction per MSD) Residual 61.00% Sales Tax (Los Angeles County, California): 9.00% Down Payment/Cap Reduction: $0.00
Monthly Payment: $454.00 plus $41.00 tax. Grand Total is $495.00/month with everything.
Money Down: $3500 for 7 MSDs (refundable). $495.00 for first month payment. $452 for all the DMV fees. Technically $0.00 money as down payment/cap reduction. Just all the state fees and typical out of pocket payments.
Just wanted your opinion if this deal sounds good . Thanks a bunch
39mo, 10K/yr, right?
Even with $3000 in incentives, that's a great selling price! The only markup I see is an extra $200 on the acquisition fee, but that's more than made up for in the selling price..
Hi - new to leasing so hoping y'all could help. Here's the deal I was offered today. I am going to shop around to a few other dealers in the area but wanted to get a baseline for what's on offer and how I can improve. Greatly appreciate the help. Happy holidays.

thanks again.
I'm showing $709.05/mo pre-tax. If the $5k in fact includes all your up front costs you are in the ballpark. Ask the dealer for a full breakdown of those up front costs.

Yup. 39 months, 10k miles. Thanks for the opinion .
I only got a $2000 cash incentive this month. I didn't have the un4gettable $1k cash (never checked my emails and didn't sign up). If I got a $3000 incentive that would have been better. It would have been $466/month with tax ($29 difference).
thanks again.
The other $1000 is dealer cash for selling the car out of stock... you may not have seen it as a line item, but it sure looks like they took it into account when they gave you that price.

thanks very much. I was able to find similar car with sticker of 69,875, sale price 60,924, $3995 due at signing, $611/mo. waiting for car to arrive from transport. very excited! thanks again.
fees at signing in NJ are 1st payment, bank acquisition fee, sales tax, motor vehicle fee, tire tax, and nj lux tax
Total initial payment $8,009.22 - $1,000 UDA/UDE (they said it was better to apply this at this step...?) =========== $7009.22 - $4,900 roll over MSDs = $2,109.22 out of pocket

I get $648.05/mo pre-tax, so the numbers are pretty much spot on. Unless you can negotiate a lower selling price, I think the deal is as good as it's going to get.
Hi, looking for money factor, residual (12k &15k) , and any lease specials on a 535xi. Leased 550i last summer with the help of this forum and did great.
Hi, looking for money factor, residual (12k &15k) , and any lease specials on a 535xi. Leased 550i last summer with the help of this forum and did great.
Also what's a reasonable % off sticker to assume?
.00130 MF and 58% residual for 39mo, 15K/yr. Add 2% for 12K/yr. $2000 Holiday Credit.
I would shoot for 7% off MSRP, then subtract the $2000 incentive.
Hello, Do you have current MF and residual for a 39/15 lease on a 528xi? Should I shoot for a similar 7% off MSRP and $2000 holiday incentive? Thanks, John

Hello All, So I got a quote today in seattle for 528xdrive MSRP $60350 10k 39 months $699 month total $6000 down, out of which 4900 is for MSD. Rest of the breakdown on $6000 is $699 first month payment an $425 in dealer fees
$699 month includes taxes. Base payment is $636 month with taxes $699 tax rate of 9.8%
Selling price on the car $56260 Residual is 36,813.50 if I base this off MSRP its 61% With the MSD MF is .00121 they did not tell me MF without the MSD
I know its been posted here that 7% off MSRP + $2000 holiday credit seems to be ideal
It sounds expensive to me, any thoughts and help is appreciated

Just wondering...where is a good place to find out what all the car incentives are when buying/leasing? I looked at edmunds and they did not have anything about the $1000 incentive for buying stock bmw vehicles. They only talked about the holiday cash.
There are so many different types of incentives - factory to dealer, factory to customer - and they change so frequently, that I don't think there is a single source available for them all.
Hi All, Kyfdx (carman), you've never steered me wrong yet! I have a bunch of moving parts for which I apologize, and am completely confused - but here goes: - My current 528i xdrive is due back april 24. I'm way under the miles, and not looking to get out early. - I have a kia soul with about 13 leases left - $300 each plus insurance - nobody is driving, and I can't use leasetrader or swapalease (thank you kmfinance! not!) - anyway, dealership will do a pull ahead, and order a new fully specced out 528i xdrive. MSRP $67,125 + $950 destination, total MSRP as built $68,075. - $755 @ 39 months, 10k miles. My prior $5,600 MSD will roll over, I pay about $2,200 for inception. $755 includes tax. - They're using a sales price of $65,925 and a MF of .00081. they'll swallow the kia payments, and take back my 5 when the new one comes in, circa march (so i'll lose about 1.5 months of the 2012 5's payments). - the $755/month is I think a few dollars less than I'm paying now, and my 5 had a sticker of about $64k and a sale of about $57k. this looks almost too good to be true - am I missing something? I was told this was part of the pull ahead program. as an aside I'm sure my 5 will be a certified used - it only has 23k miles, looks new, fully loaded, etc. thanks so much!

Well... they can do a lot for you, because they are only discounting the new car by $2000.
The total of your lease payments on the Soul is only $3900. I wouldn't make any $65,000 car decisions, based on not wanting to waste $4000.
If it were me.... I'd run out the lease on the current 5-series and then drive the Soul while I shopped for a killer deal on my next car..
2015 535 lease question: I'm in Texas, looking for a 535i. I found one I like in Imperial Blue ($550) with Driver Assistance ($1800), Luxury Line ($2000), Luxury Seating ($2400), Premium Package ($1500), heated front seats ($500), and Harman Kardon ($875), which, with the destination charge, totals $66,175. Looking at a 39-month lease with a .62 residual and .00167 MF. Would $725 be a good deal with an additional $1000 up front?

10K mi/yr? The residual is correct, but the base money factor is .00130. I'd start with knocking down the MF to the base number..
But, we'd need a selling price to calculate a payment. And, then... you have Texas lease taxes.

Thank you for the reply. I agree about not letting the $4k tail wag the $65k dog. Where I'm really confused, however, is they claim without the soul being involved, and with me coughing up about $2,200 and rolling over my MSDs, I'd be looking at a payment of ROUGHLY $666 (devilish!) all in - I just looked at my 2012 paperwork - for a lower sales price I was paying higher per month (I can't find the MF on my 2012 paperwork) it seems like there are NO incentives right now - yet the lease payment would be nearly $100/month less than what I'm paying, for a new, better equipped car. Did I get ripped off the first time around, or did MFs drop dramatically, or am I being lied to now? Lastly, and as always I appreciate the help and guidance, it appears historically the best incentives have been later in the year - though I've read elsewhere some folks swear by july or so - might it make sense to wait until the summer based on history? I realize I run the risk of a reduced residual, and higher MF, but without rebates or options credit, it seems like there's no rush, per your suggestion. Thanks so much for any guidance or suggestions!
It's possible that your last lease was not a great deal.... but, you only have a few months left on it... No point in spending thousands to lower your payment, when you are near the end.... Lease deals are not great this month... certainly not as good as last month... You have a full year before you are car-less... wait for a better deal.
Thank you again and I absolutely will wait - I'm just wondering if historically there are better months to order - I'm thinking summertime but I can't find historical bmw 5 lease specials anywhere to find a pattern. thank you again, and time to troll for the next year!

It's hard to say... It seems like lease deals are good in March, but that's just a general thing and may not be specific to the 5-Series, this year.. Summer deals vary a lot.. some years there are great deals, and others not so great.

27mon etc?
Thanks
.00130 MF and 63% residual for either model. $2000 Holiday Credit.
The only special lease term is 39 months. .00130 MF and 58% residual.

Just wanted to confirm the following RV and MF for a 2014 528i RWD:
36mo/10k yr : 61%, .0013. (2k holiday credit).
For comparison, a 2015 528i RWD on a 39mo/10k lease term would have same credit and RV/MF.
Please correct or confirm. Thanks in advance!
The only correction is the 2014 Holiday Credit is just $1500.
In theory, you should be able to negotiate a lower CAP cost on the 2014 model.. But, it would have to be substantially lower to be a good deal.

Selling Price: $67,900

-7.25% tax
-10,000 miles/year

THANK YOU!!
With your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $791.70/mo for 39 months. What state do you live in? I ask as the sales tax obligations vary.
There might be more room to bring down the selling price.

One more question, am I better off going for a 24 month lease? Not sure if the residual would make more sense with the 24/10 scenario?
Thanks again!!
39 months is the sweet spot for BMW leases this month.

Model: 528i
MSRP: 52700
Selling price: 45995
0 due at signing. 0 out of pocket
15kmiles per year
39months
monthly payment: 571 plus tax (florida)
is this a good deal?

39mo, 10K/yr, right?
Even with $3000 in incentives, that's a great selling price!
The only markup I see is an extra $200 on the acquisition fee, but that's more than made up for in the selling price..
Nice job...

Also what's a reasonable % off sticker to assume?
.00130 MF and 58% residual for 39mo, 15K/yr. Add 2% for 12K/yr.
$2000 Holiday Credit.
I would shoot for 7% off MSRP, then subtract the $2000 incentive.

Do you have current MF and residual for a 39/15 lease on a 528xi? Should I shoot for a similar 7% off MSRP and $2000 holiday incentive?
Thanks,
John
.00130 MF and 58% residual. $2000 Holiday Credit.
That's what I would aim for...

So I got a quote today in seattle for 528xdrive MSRP $60350
10k 39 months $699 month total $6000 down, out of which 4900 is for MSD. Rest of the breakdown on $6000 is $699 first month payment an $425 in dealer fees
$699 month includes taxes. Base payment is $636 month with taxes $699 tax rate of 9.8%
Selling price on the car $56260
Residual is 36,813.50 if I base this off MSRP its 61%
With the MSD MF is .00121 they did not tell me MF without the MSD
I know its been posted here that 7% off MSRP + $2000 holiday credit seems to be ideal
It sounds expensive to me, any thoughts and help is appreciated

Kyfdx (carman), you've never steered me wrong yet!
I have a bunch of moving parts for which I apologize, and am completely confused - but here goes:
- My current 528i xdrive is due back april 24. I'm way under the miles, and not looking to get out early.
- I have a kia soul with about 13 leases left - $300 each plus insurance - nobody is driving, and I can't use leasetrader or swapalease (thank you kmfinance! not!)
- anyway, dealership will do a pull ahead, and order a new fully specced out 528i xdrive.

10K mi/yr? The residual is correct, but the base money factor is .00130. I'd start with knocking down the MF to the base number..
But, we'd need a selling price to calculate a payment. And, then... you have Texas lease taxes.

That would leave 1st payment, acquisition fee and title/registration due at signing.

it seems like there are NO incentives right now - yet the lease payment would be nearly $100/month less than what I'm paying, for a new, better equipped car.

It's hard to say... It seems like lease deals are good in March, but that's just a general thing and may not be specific to the 5-Series, this year.. Summer deals vary a lot.. some years there are great deals, and others not so great.
