Using the MSRP of $63,495 and the net cap cost of $58,477, I get a payment of $693/mo + tax. So, your quote of $625/mo looks good by comparison.

Thanks for your quick response. Do you know if incentives/rates are likely to change within the month? I heard that incentives can change after the 7th. Is this true? If so, would the MF/Resid change then as well?

Can't tell you what may or may not happen with incentives. Unlikely that the RV or MF will change, however.

And, if there are changes, we may not know about them.

MSRP - $67,070
Selling Price - $57,070
Acq Fee - $925
Fees / Insurance - $337.25 (Doc - $150, Temp Tag - $5, Inspection - $23.75, License $125.50, Title $33)
Capped Taxes - $3,566.88 (6.25%, Thanks Texas!)
Total Capital Cost - 61,899.13
Residual - $40,242
MF - .00082 w/ 7 MSD's ($4900 in deposits due + first month, everything else rolled into cap cost)
Monthly - $685.34

This seems good. Am I missing anything?

Also, while I remember - thanks for the information on this forum. It has been extremely helpful and I appreciate the time you take helping all of us.

I was actually checking all remaining 2015 inventory in the state. I stumbled across the 2016's and they listed the 10k up front. I assumed it was a lure, but it turned out to be legitimate. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post specific dealers here but it's in North Texas.

I'm looking for the best option on buying a new 5-series BMW. I was considering a 36 month lease and then purchasing the vehicle at the end of the lease using funds from my 401K which I could then choose the payback term (36mos, 48mos, etc).

If I put a large lump sum down when I initially lease, would that help when the lease ends and it's time to purchase?

If your intention is to keep the vehicle for a long time, then simply buy it outright.

Leasing, then buying is not the right way to go about it.

Putting money down on a lease is a risk - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

I suspect the net cap cost is higher, if you're only being asked to come up with $1000 at inception. Find out what the dealer is adding in (bank fee, perhaps?)

The tax rate in CA varies based on where you live. LA and Orange County are both around 9%, as is the Bay Area. Other places may be less.

MSD program allows you to make multiple refundable security deposits (up to 7) that each lower the money factor by .00007, for a total reduction of .00049.

On a typical lease, that could save $35-$40 on the payment.

European Delivery is just that. Taking delivery of your vehicle in Munich.

I'm looking for input on a deal I am looking at. It looks pretty good to me, but its the first numbers the dealer has thrown out and my gut tells me they can always do better than their first offer. Please let me know if I need to add additional info.
