It is in Tx and I am rolling the sales tax into the lease. They said the total cap included msrp + sales tax, vit tax (not sure what that is) and acquisition fee. They were giving me $3000 off the list of $60,645.

I think there is more room to negotiate a better selling price .. generally, 7% off sticker is pretty decent.

If you can get the selling price down, I don't dispute the information in that link.

Can you live with 10,000 miles per year? Do you have the cash to do the MSD program?

And, this is a base model - which I imagine are not all that common on the dealers lot.

I think you can get more of a discount from sticker.

Also, have the dealer provide you with the adjusted capitalized cost

Was called destination and handling $995. Yes all taxes and fees were paid up front. MF was base - 0.0002 - 7x0.00007 = 0.00068

I found a dealer who is offering a demo 2016 535 GT (Nav/Premium/Cold Weather Packages) with 7k miles for $369 a month (24mo/10k lease) and $2995 down including ($1000 loyalty incentive). Taxes/tags/fees extra (total drive off around $6k) Is this a good deal? This is in NY.

MSRP is 70k

The $2995 down is effectively adding about $84/mo to the payment - true payment is $453.

Still, relative to MSRP, a pretty good deal.

I'd ask for the adjusted cap cost and a full breakdown of the money due at signing.

I get $512/mo with those numbers, assuming .00088 MF after MSDs.

I'd confirm the net cap cost - if higher than the selling price, find out what's been added.

Still, a pretty good deal on a $60K car.

With your MSRP and total cost, I get $597.51/mo plus tax.

Close enough ... only way to improve it is to get a lower selling price or use MSD to buy down the MF.

Max 7 MSDs, each of which lower the MF .00007 (.00049 total, or a net MF of .00088).

For BMW 7% off sticker is a good target. Though, read back through the last page or two to see what others have gotten.

Yes, that is correct ... 7% off sticker before applying any incentives.

Don't ask them to lower the MF; politely tell them you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF. They know what the base rate is.

MSRP: $63495,
Selling price $53000
Residual: $40700 (67% adjusted for additional miles)
Lease: 10kmiles/36months.
MF=0.000137

Hoping for a little advice.

A dealer is advertising a 2016 535, MSRP $65,870.00 for $59,995.00. Below the invoice $61,265.00.

I've been going back and forth with the sales manager. on a 36/15K lease.

His initial offer had $499 in closing fees added to cap cost along with the $925 acquisition fee, $51 for title and $300 for SC capped sales tax. Total cap cost of $61770 and a payment of $728.76. I did the math and it means the MF is at .00177.

I checked their web page and in the fine print it said that all closing fees were included in the advertised price. I pointed this out to him and he took it out of the cap reducing it to $61,271 with a new payment of $714.02. I told him I wouldn't sign any deals with inflated MF's to which he replied his .0004 MF mark-up is his sole source of profit when offering the car below invoice and therefore the best he can do.

The difference in payment is $41.77 per month or $1,503.72 over the lease

What do you think? Should I make a deal elsewhere?

He's not wrong .. dealers have to make some money to keep the lights on.

For leases, that means either a smaller discount from sticker or a marked up MF. You have to decide what's important to you.

You might want to reach out to other dealers and see if you can find one who will give you both.

Hello - I got the following offer on 2016 535i with my local dealer today for 36month/10K :

MSRP $72935.00 Sale: $65,435.00

The mf is .00108 and the residual is 67% of MSRP, or $48,866

$4550.00 – multiple security deposits
$925.00 – BMW Financial Services lease acquisition fee
$510.00 – dealer documentary fee
$960.03 – 1 yr registration & plate
$79.55 – Arizona tax on acq fee
$646.39 – first monthly payment
------------------------------------
$7670.97 total due at signing

He is willing to bring down the MF to the base rate of 0.00088 after 7 MSDs.

Please let me know if it is a good deal?

I get $583/mo.+tax, so $646 seems a little high, if your tax rate is 8.6%. Should be about $633/mo, I think.

The base MF (.00088) will lower the payment by $23/mo.+tax, or about $25/mo.

The discount looks good. Of course, they are taking some of that back with the $510 doc fee.

Is first year registration really $960 in AZ?
