    Here is my latest offer:
    '16 TLX FWD w/ Advance pkg - 36 months - 12k miles / yr:
    Down: $199.69 sales tax + $445 1st month + $122.50 reg/title/tire tax + $75 doc fee = $842.19
    Gross Cap: $41,060.29
    Adjusted Cap (after 2250 for loyalty/bonus): $38,810.29
    Residual: $24,382.40
    Depreciation: $14,427.89
    Rent charge: $1,592.11
    Total base payment: $16,020 / 36 months = $445 per month.
They also paid $240.09 of my down payment and added the protection package $427 (trunk/all weather front/back mats/wheel locks)
Scale from 1 - 10, 1 being horrible and 10 being unbelievable. I appreciate the feedback from the experts.

    1) What is the MSRP?
    2) Is this the 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder?

    I get $445/mo, as well.

Is this NY? If so, if the gross CAP includes sales tax, this looks like a pretty good deal.

Yes, NY. In actuality it all came down to $610 down and $445/month for 35 months.  $24,382.40 is my buy option at the end of the lease.

Can I get residual and money factor numbers for 2016 TLX 4cyl base and TLX 4 cyl Tech package with 36 months and 10k miles per year in Ohio. The base has $1000 lease incentive, I believe. Is the Tech package lease cash at $1000 or $2000?

    .00070 and 59% (base) or 57% (tech).

$1000 lease cash on base; $2000 on tech

    $500 loyalty or conquest cash

Hi, I recently was at an Acura dealership in Huntington, New York and received the following based on the following info. Can you let me know if this is a good deal? Thanks

    Acura TLX
    V-6 FWD no Tech
    MSRP $36240
Negotiated Price $32910 (I think it includes incentives but not sure)
    Tax $1308.91 (8.625% in NY)
    Residual (Purchase Option) $21019.20
    Money Factor: .00070
    36/12
    No Money Down
    $422.83/month
Amount due at signing: $520.33 (includes 1st month, fees, and insurance)

Basically want to know if the monthly payment is what it should be and if I could get a better deal based on what others average. Thanks again. Ed

If I add the tax plus the $595 acquisition fee to the selling price, I get $422/mo., as well.

Would you by any chance know if the negotiated price ($32910) for this car is a good price or would I be able to get a lower price based on what you've seen? Thanks

I really don't. You can use the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page to "build" your car and check Edmunds TMV.

My calculations give me $379 per month with those numbers. However, in Texas, the full selling price of the vehicle is subject to sales tax; I don't see that anywhere in the numbers you provided.

Correct. In Texas it is the full selling price of the vehicle. However, the dealership lowered tax rate from 6.25% to 1.3% (or so, I didn't write it down), which is where the $512.97 comes from.

Ah, yes. The infamous tax credit. Glad you were able to secure it.

So, your quote is $20/mo less than my calculations. Why haven't you signed the paperwork yet?

Hello - Can you provide lease figures for the following TLX models with residuals for 12k and 15k leases? (Assuming Honda/Acura's sweet spot is still 36 months?)

    TLX i4 Base
    TLX i4 Tech
    TLX V6 Base FWD
    TLX V6 Tech FWD

Any lease cash or loyalty cash?

I'm assuming there are no more Acura numbers for 2015 model years? My local dealership has a handful left still, but I'm assuming that Acura isn't pushing deals on 15's anymore..

.00070 and 56% for the base trim and 54% for the tech trim, 36/15. Add 2% for 12,000 miles.

$1000 lease cash on the base, $2000 lease cash for the tech.

We don't recommend making a down payment on a lease; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

Better to just pay the inception costs up front (bank fee, dealer fee, first payment, DMV costs) and save the money to help with the higher payment.

No it would not .. GAP would only cover that part of the lease that is unpaid.

I think it's just a sin not to get the V6 if you are after the TLX. Might as well get the TSX.

Not everybody needs a bazillion horsepower.

My wife does, but that's an exception.

(mind you, this is coming from a guy who drives a 148 HP Hyundai - the 201 HP in the TLX 4-cyl would be a rocket by comparison)

Ha! So true! Coming from a guy that drives a 175 hp Subaru. A few other data points; they don't make the TSX anymore & the 9 speed automatic in the V6 gets less than favorable reviews

So glad I found this forum. Dealing with Acura of Orange Park in Florida.

Moderator, can you help? Here are the numbers I just received.

    Market value selling price 41,914
    Discount 4,878

    Adjusted price 34,536

    Taxable fees 661.50
    private tag agency fee 158.50
    doc fee 799.00
    tax 232.40
    non tax fees 100.00
    net price 36487.40

Using your MSRP and net price, I get $432/mo assuming 7% sales tax.

Ask for the adjusted capitalized cost. That doc fee is a killer (but, not much you can do about it - it's pretty common to be that high in FL).

I actually like the 9 speed. Especially when I'm in 1st gear, rocketing out from stop. I couldn't imagine driving anything less than 280hp. You'd have to concede to everyone.

Go to several dealerships, at least 2. Get an offer letter from one, go to the other and haggle. Get them to issue an offer letter. Go back to the 1st dealer and haggle some more. At this point, they'll dig deep into the salesman book to balk at your seriousness to do a deal. Keep working them, and not the other way around. My deal was with 12k miles per year and all weather matts and wheel lock.

I'll just say the dealership is in the 5 boroughs / Long Island area.  12k miles per year and the protection package that gave me all weather matts and wheel lock.

Thank you all for your input! I don't know what's changed about the #'s above but I'm now @ $409 (with tax) 12K miles, & they threw in all season floor mats, spash guards and wheel locks. 56% residual value = $22,576.

    Good to go?

Using your MSRP and net price, I get $432/mo assuming 7% sales tax.

Ask for the adjusted capitalized cost. That doc fee is a killer (but, not much you can do about it - it's pretty common to be that high in FL).
Hi Moderator, I'm about to make this deal. Not sure how they adjusted the numbers above, but now @ $409 (with tax). They also threw in all season floor mats, wheel locks & ssplash guards. Residual 56% or $22,576.

Sounds like this is a deal? Thoughs?

Is try to get them to $399.00. Argue that the splash guards and wheel lock is already installed and would actually cost them time and money to remove it.

I generally don't advise negotiating the payment .. better to negotiate the selling price and understand all the costs that are added in (that aren't being paid up front).

Well if your intentions are to lease and eventually buy. But if you're only interested in the lease term and eventual trade-in, would those costs matter much?

    Solid feedback.

    Adjusted cap cost $34888.93
    Residual 56%

    Pmt 409 w/tax

Based on truecar.com $34k is lower than than the "exceptional price" for my area. I probably don't understand all of the numerical factors of leasing like I should, but I think I made out alright. TLX is a sweet ride, kinda miss the gear shift.

Neighboring dealer quoted me $499 @ the "friends & family" rate. Lol

Appreciate all the feedback, you guys are awesome. Nice to find some friendly people

The residual is fixed, so that amount doesn't change whether you plan to buy at the end of the lease or not.

The only two variables in a lease are the negotiated selling price and the MF. The lower the selling price, the lower the payment. MF can be marked up by the dealer for extra profit, so knowing what it should be helps you secure the best deal.

    .00070 MF and 54% residual. $2000 lease cash + $500 loyalty/conquest cash.

That looks about right with that CAP cost.

CAP cost seems kind of high, given the incentives on this model, though. Did they give you a breakdown of how they arrived at that number?

For the 2016 TLX 4cyc base, the dealer's offer is for 56% residual value. Are they sticking it to me or is that from the leasing company they're using?

56% is the 36/15 residual - confirm the miles per year the dealer is using.
