Hello, can I get the MF/RV and any incentives for an S4 Prestige with 36/10 and 36/12 for this month in Chicago, IL area?

Also, does adding Audi Care universally add 1% to the RV or does it vary per model? If it varies, please include that # as well for the S4 Prestige.

As always, thanks for your help!

Thanks for all the information you've provided so far!

Could I have the MF and RV for a 2018 P+ S4, 36/15k in Virginia? Also, what should I expect my lease payment to be, assuming the following:

    $57500 MSRP
    $53490 sale price
    4.15% sales tax

    Thanks!

With the prices provided, I get $647/mo.

That assumes that all taxes and fees are paid up front.

Thanks.. For NY, assuming a 42/12 would be the same as Ohio? .00085 and 54% +1% for AC? That looks to me like a sweeter spot than the 39 option - unless Im looking at it wrong.. On my particular deal, Im MSRP 58135, sell price of $54646.90 which includes $869 Audicare.. On the 36/12, I'm looking at with tax & fees upfront - $3735/$647 mo, average $733/mo.. On the 42/12, Im getting $4010 up front, $634/mo, average $715/mo. On the 39, I show it very similar to the 36 with 3909 upfront/$649 mo, average $732/mo.

Im picking up this month -- would much rather end lease and pick up next car in summer months as opposed to February. Warranty and tires will not be an issue here. Thoughts?

Yes, MF and residual are the same.

42 months is a close second to 36 in terms of the sweet spot for leasing - the only issue is another year of registration costs and, possibly, tires and/or brakes needing to be replaced.

We aren't big fans of large up front amounts - if the car is stolen or totaled, that up front money is lost. Better to roll the taxes and fees into the lease payment.

Can you please let me know the MF and RV for 36/12k for Prestige and PP in Boston? And I presume the $1k loyalty is nation wide? Lastly, does Audi care add 1% to the RV?

Thanks.. I decided to stick with the 36 months.. I'm not a fan of capping the sales tax.. In NY, in addition to the finance charges you're paying on the tax - you're also getting taxed again on the capped sales tax.. For my 36 month lease, you're effectively paying insurance of $243 -- to cover a loss of $2031 in what realistically is a fairly unlikely event of a total loss or theft..

Above and beyond that - cap cost reductions - I wont do.

Thanks again for all your help..

    Assuming Quattro .... .00063 and 54% (P+) or 50% (Prestige)
    $1000 marketing allowance
$1000 loyalty - yes, loyalty is national

    Add 1% for AudiCare

EDIT - sorry, I quoted you the A4 numbers. Let's try again, for the S4, this time:

    .00065 and 58% (P+) or 56% (Prestige)
    no marketing allowance

Capped taxes don’t get re-taxed. The calculations are convoluted, but that isn’t accurate.

But, as you note, the risk is small vs the savings

New York charges sales tax on the entire lease payment.. In my specific lease deal, not capitalizing the tax results in a tax liability at signing of $2094.83, and total finance charges of $2101.68.. If I opt to capitalize the tax, the tax liability changes to $2284.67 and total finance charges of $2155.32 -- an additional tax liability of $189.84 and additional finance charges of $53.64.

Then, they aren't calculating it correctly.
Once the pre-tax payment tax is calculated, then you don't re-calculate it for capitalizing the taxes.
Of course, anything in the CAP cost is subject to finance charges, so that part is correct.

What do you get for payments in both scenarios? I’m just gong by what Leasematic for iPhone is calculating, so if my calculations are off, I can bring it up with the author of the app. Here are my key values:
    MSRP: 58135
    Sell 54646.90
    RV 59%
    MF .00065
    Term 36
    Tax 8.625
    Acq Fee 895 up front
    Audicare 869 (capped)
    Doc 75 up front
    Nys inspect $10 upfront
    Nys tire fee $12.50 upfront

I get $3735 at signing / $647 mo with tax upfront.
This is within $1 from what dealer calculated. I have not received dealer numbers that capped the tax so I can’t compare.

Capping just the tax tax with those numbers, I get $1705 / $712. If I flip the preference in the app to not tax capped tax I get $707. Just checking with the author to see if that was the default.

Edit:  Alright.. Yes, it is convoluted.. I manually worked through the NYS worksheet at https://www.tax.ny.gov/pdf/publications/sales/pub839.pdf  -- the specific rules in this scenario are covered in pp 15-17, and the worksheet is on page 20.. Doing it manually, I end up with a total tax liability of $2295, which is $11 more than what Leasematic calculated..

Whatever the case may be - I think it can be agreed that NY'ers get taxed any opportunity they can.. Ultimately, in regards to paying tax upfront or capitalizing it - its going to come down to your individual appetite for risk, and how painful the loss of that sales tax money is going to be if you lost it..

    Thanks,
    Rick

And after all that - I decided to take your advice after all, albeit for slightly different reasons. Here is what I ended up with — capping the tax and the acquisition fee as well.. $1086 at signing for 1st mo, doc fee, state inspection, state tire fee, and reg/plate fees. $738/mo. Then — taking the $3K leftover from what I was going to put down, and moved up payment of another debt by 6-7 months and saving hundreds in interest there. 1.5% on the lease vs 14% was a no brainer.
    Thanks again!

Could someone give me an idea on the RV/MF in California for S4 P+:

    1. Term = 10k or 12k for 36 months
    2. RV = ??
    3. MF = ??
    4. The MSRP I'm dealing with is $61,200

I'm getting a good discount on the car from the dealer but I think they are marking it back-up using the MF (and maybe the RV too). If anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate that!

Could someone give me an idea on the RV/MF in California for S4 P+:

    .00065 and 59% / 58%
    $1000 loyalty

Dealer can mark up the MF, but the residual is fixed by the bank.

Getting this deal from a dealer in CA:

    MSRP: $61,200
SELLING PRICE: $55,080 (10% off MSRP)
    MONEY FACTOR: 0.0012
57% REISDUAL @ 10K MILES PER YEAR for 36 months
    Unfortunately, I don't qualify for $1,000 loyalty

    DRIVE-OFF = $2,500
    MONTHLY PAYMENT: $670+tax = $722

They are definitely marking-up the MF. And the RV of 57% honestly feels like a typo from the sales manager, and I'm sure when I go in they will change that to 58% to be in line with what other dealers are telling .

In any case, can anyone advise if this is a good deal?

If you know the MF is marked up, why would you think it was a good deal?

And, we prefer the drive off to be limited to just the first payment and registration costs. Anything more than that would be at risk if the car is stolen or totaled.

OK, so I picked up the car on Thursday.. Here is the final deal that I signed on.. At the last minute, I decided to pay the tax upfront.. As previously discussed, this was within my risk tolerance and also due to NY taxing the tax again if capitalized.. My upfront and monthly ended up being the same as I calculated.

It seems they got a little creative to their benefit.. In the end, my lease was pushed through VW Credit Leasing Ltd., not Audi Financial Services.. I was not eligible for loyalty.. I know they bumped up the MF a bit, because at some point I saw a MF of 0.0007x somewhere (but thats not on the paperwork I brought home) -- and they offset with some $500 rebate that I guess they were able to utilize pushing it through VW.

I'm ACNA, and the sell price was the straight 6% off MSRP.. Here are the final numbers from my lease contract:

    MSRP: 58,140.00
    Sell Price: 54,646.90
    Add Lease Acq Fee: 895.00
    Add Audi Care: 869.00
    Gross Cap Cost: 56410.90
    Residual: 34302.60 (59%)

    A. Due At Signing:

    1. Cap Cost Reduction: 460.53
    2. Taxes on cap cost reduction: 39.72
    3. First Monthly Payment: $673.44
    4. NYS License and Registration Fees: 259.00
    5. Sales Tax: 2097.50
    6. NYS Tire Fee: 12.50
    7. Doc Fee: 75.00
    Total: 3617.69

    B. How amt due at signing will be paid:
    1. Rebates: 500.00
    2. Amt to be paid in cash: 3117.69
    Total: 3617.69

    C. Payment determined:
    A.Gross Cap Cost: 56410.90
    B. Less Cap Cost Reduction: 460.53
    C. Adjusted cap cost: 55950.37
    D. Less Residual Value: 34302.60
    E. Depreciation and amortized amts: 21647.77
    F. Rent Charge: 2596.07
    G. Total of base scheduled payments: 24243.84
    H. Number of payments: 36
    Total scheduled payment: 673.44

As far as the car -- I absolutely love it, and it was well worth the wait.. Ive had my eyes on the car ever since the 2017 was released in Europe, and had to wait about 2 months before it came in (was a dealer stock order)

Thanks again for all the help..

I calculate a money factor of .00080, to get that payment.
But, if that got you a $500 rebate, it's a wash with .00065 and no rebate.

    Congrats!

Could I get MF/RV for P+ in PA for 36/15

    Initial offer

    MSRP: 60,800
    Sale: 55,000

$720/m out the door with tax and audicare, $5000 down. Seems pretty high compared to what I'm seeing on here.

    .00065 and 56%

Using the prices, as is (no money down), I get $640/mo plus tax.

Tax in PA is the base tax rate, plus a 3% lease surcharge - either 10% or 11%. Even at 11%, that works out to $710/mo, with only first payment and fees due at signing (not nearly $5K, for sure).

We recommend only the first payment and registration costs be paid at signing - add the acquisition fee and dealer fee to the selling price and make it part of the monthly payment.

Would my math be correct that with 5k down and another 1k in incentives land at about $595/m at a higher MF of .00134 and still RV 56% ?

Assuming fees included around $1500 and I believe tax outside the cities is closer to 9% (from looking at my last lease).
