.00156 MF and 59% residual, less $900 for mileage
    $1500 lease credit.

If I add tax and $925 acquisition fee, I get $432/mo.
That's assuming your $1000 covers first payment and DMV/doc fees

    That's pretty close.

Considering the high taxes in Texas, this is a pretty decent deal.

Question about the acquisition fee. When you lease, do you pay the full $925 even though you're only using the car for 3 years of its life?

One dealer said they charging me the full amount in the beginning (as part of the drive off). And another dealer said that I would only pay the residual percentage of $925. I'm not sure if they're confusing that with destination charge.

So the residual was 59%--I own the car for 41% of it's life. Therefore, would I pay (925 x .41) = $379? Or do I have to pay the full amount $925?

Lastly, do you recommend rolling this acquisition fee into the monthly payment? Or paying it upfront?

You pay 100% of the acquisition fee; it's imposed by the bank.

We recommend you roll it into the monthly payment.

Hi, can I get an opinion on this lease deal?

    2018 BMW X1 xDrive28i
    MSRP 41,795 (14% off msrp)
    sales price 35,889
    36/10
$1500 lease credit and $1000 loyalty credit should be applicable

    I'm from NJ.

I haven't tried negotiating the sales price yet, what should I aim for?

My guess is that the incentives are already baked into your selling price.

Generally, we suggest you target 7% off MSRP, before incentives. You've already exceeded that.

What payment has the dealer quoted you, if any?

    Ah, well that changes everything.

For a demo vehicle, you want to target 12-15% off MSRP.

But, you'll have to adjust the residual down .25/mile, or $1175.

I am not new to leasing, but am new to attempting to negotiate my next lease... my current lease a good friend of mine handled the numbers (he's no longer around and my lease matures in 90 days). I am currently in a 428ix grand coupe, about 2000 miles over my mileage. I am looking to get into a 2018 X1. I want to attempt to handle the negotiations via email... could anyone that has done this before give me a template for an email they would send? I already test drove the car, would like to buy by the end of this month, and my options are flexible. ANY advice will certainly be helpful.

Your deal is better than what the numbers would suggest.
If you had the adjusted CAP cost, we could nail it down.

But, that's a very favorable lease deal, either way.

    Is this a good deal?

    MSRP: $42,545
    Selling: $38,455
    Incentives: $1500
    Acquisition Fee: $925
Other fees: Doc & title $485
    Monthly Payment: $515
Drive off: Monthly payment and other fees $1000

    This is on 36/12000 miles.

Something seems off... I am yet to negotiate selling. This is just dealer offering. I am returning my 428 lease (I am over 1000 miles on current lease)

    State NJ

    .00156 and 58%

The cap cost would have to be around $39,700 to get that payment.

    Selling price less incentive: $36,955 + $925 + $485 + $1300 (estimated taxes) = $39,655

Pretty close, if you ask me.

    Ok, here's the update:

    MSRP: 42,545
    Selling price (38,455) minus incentive (3000) = 35,455

    DEALER SAID:

'Monthly payments will drop to $485 a month with total due at sign $2124.45

    First month - $485
    Reg - $310.50
    Documentary fee - $403.95
Bankers fee or acquisition - $925

And I’m paying the 2 last payments for you

If you pay taxes upfront and I take care of doc fee. Total due would be $3001.77 and payments are $455.

Or you come up with $1800 total and payments are $490'

SHOULD I PAY TAXES UP FRONT? Do I have a good deal?

again 12k/36 months. I am in NJ

She will do away with doc fee if we pay tax up front. Tax is $1,318.17.

    Thank you so much!

We recommend adding the taxes into the monthly payment. If the car is stolen or totaled during the lease, you won't get a refund of the pre-paid taxes that you didn't use.

The only up front costs you should pay are the first payment and registration costs. You'll have a higher payment, but you won't be risking the money in case something awful happens to the car.

    Hey friends!

Got this quote on a loaner 2018 X1 xDrive with 4500 miles on it currently in Ohio.

    MSRP 42385
    Selling price 37050
    Quoted residual value 25007
    $1000 payment due at signing
    36 mo / 10k miles
MF 0.0186 (and my credit score is top tier 800+)
    Payment is $451 a month

I feel like it’s a little high especially for my FICO, or am I wrong?

.00156 MF and 59% residual, less $1125 for the mileage
    $1000 lease credit
The residual amount given is for a ZERO mile car.
With the $1125 reduction, the residual is about 56.35%

The money factor is marked up for extra profit. Nothing to do with your credit score.

With only $1000 due at signing, I get a higher payment than what they've quoted.

That looks like a pretty good deal.
I'd like to know the adjusted CAP cost, and what the actual residual amount is, considering it's a demo.

Thank you very much. They said the money factor was something they were locked into. Shoulder shrug.

The markup adds about $20/mo. to the payment.
Tell them you are locked into a payment about $20/mo. lower than their offer.. ;)
