I currently lease a 2016 228...I have 5 payments left totalling around 2,700. The dealer offered me a 2018 320i xdrive with premium and convenience packages plus PDC and heated steering wheel....MSRP IS $44,635 new...the car was a service loaner and has about 3500 miles on it. They worked my remaining lease payments into the new lease.
36m/15k monthly payment is about $490 with nothing down, I'm also over the miles on the 228 but only by about 1300 so they are waiving the $260.
Am I making a mistake on the lease? Payments would've been around $410 if I didn't have payments left on my 228.

Why trade out of the lease early? That's almost $2900 you can save by waiting.
What price are you getting on the 320xi? As it's a demo, you should target 12-15% off MSRP, before incentives ($3000 lease credit and $750 loyalty). Otherwise, might as well get one with next to no miles on it.
So I had an awful experience at the dealership. I negotiated the 320 down to $470/month...I still felt like I could've gotten a better deal especially for a car that had 3500 miles on it already. I think I'm gonna renegotiate for a 330 xdrive...what I'd like and built had an MSRP of $50,260. What kind of numbers should I look for including them taking my current 228 with about $2,700 due on it?

Same lease numbers for all 3-series.
7% off MSRP, less incentives, is your target price.
But, the $2700 will add $75/mo to any deal you negotiate.
I have a leased 2015 3 series that is due to be turned in soon. Back in 2015, I bought down the MF with MSD. The dealership is telling me that since I did MSD last time, I can still do MSD on the new lease, but instead of a maximum of 49 points, I can only use 35 points. Any truth to this? I am looking for a 330i 36/12K. I believe the residual is 60%. What incentives are currently available in SoCal and what would likely be the MF if I can still buy down the MF with 7 security deposits?

We've heard that the number of MSDs that can carry over from the old lease to the new lease is 5, and each one lowers the MF by .00005.
But, we don't have any hard evidence on that. If all 7 MSDs can be used, and the per SD reduction is .00005, then .00035 is the correct total reduction.
.00156 is the base MF; .00121 after MSD rollover.
$3000 lease credit $750 loyalty credit 60% residual is correct for 36/12

What should a potential leasee be shooting for in cap cost reduction? Would 7% off MSRP plus the $3750 in incentives be a good deal or should the dealer be willing to lower the cap cost more? In California, incentives are bad for the leasee because you have to pay tax on them.

Hello geniuses, would someone like to comment on this 2018 BMW 330i xDrive? Ohio - 36m / 10k. This is a loaner with 3,500 miles, which is why I think this deal is not so sweet.
47,830 MSRP 44,481 Selling price $1033 down $479 a month including taxes They are quoting a MF of 0.00189
Shouldn’t the MF and so forth be this for Ohio? Residual: 58% MF: 0.00156 Lease Credit: $3000 Loyalty Bonus: $750
I don’t think they’re discounting the car enough for a loaner - isn’t it supposed to be in the 10-15% range?

Thank you up front!
You are correct- that's a terrible selling price for a loaner. You should be looking at 12-15% off MSRP before the credit and loyalty are applied. So my math would be something like $47830-$6217 (I used 13% of the 47,830 MSRP as a fair starting point)= $41,613.00, then subtract the $3000 Lease credit and $750 Loyalty and add the $925 acqusition fee and $250 Ohio doc fee for an adjusted cap cost of roughly $39038.00. Money factor should be 0.00156 so that's been slightly inflated too. Ohio taxes the monthly payment so with a 58% residual you should be around $411.00 before your county's sales tax and assuming all fees rolled in.
It's the last day of the month- I'd personally shoot for 15% and the base money factor and see if they even bother to counter or just take it and let you walk out tonight with that bimmer

One last thing - the residual value will be decreased $875 to account for the miles - ($47,830 * .58) - 875 = $26,866.40
Well they didn’t come down to the base money factor despite an 850 credit score. Also they don’t budge on any of the parameters and still considered their loaner a ‘new’ car.
Well they didn’t come down to the base money factor despite an 850 credit score. Also they don’t budge on any of the parameters and still considered their loaner a ‘new’ car.
Well then they can find an uneducated sucker who's willing to pay an unrealistic amount for a car that's got 3,500 miles on it; wherever dealer that is here in Ohio, I hope it's not up in the Cleveland area! Pat yourself on the back for being able to walk away when you've taken the time to educate and arm yourself with good information. There's plenty of dealers statewide with plenty of loaners that will be willing to move their inventory, especially with someone ready buy.
What is the MF for a 3 series in GA? At least, I assume that’s how it works? I’m in MI buying from a GA dealer? It’s a loaner with about 2k miles on it but price seems too high even after the “discount.”
I had been trying to work on a lease on a 2018 330i wagon in the Bay Area. Dealer started by giving a heavy discount, MSRP 58,750, (-5,755 discount) Cap cost = $53,005 Then less BMW rebates & loyalty credits (-$2,750) They quoted a $925 acquisition fee + $760 in other dealer fees +$106 on upfront taxes (sales tax is 8.5%) With $0 drive off, I was quoted a price of $705/mo(incl.tax) (3yr/36k/12k/yr)
Was told MF was .00196 however when I did the calculation with the above parameters, I get a payment of $688 (incl tax) Then I see on this site the MF for April was .00156 which then brought the payment down to $650
If anyone can confirm why I'm off on the math, I would appreciate it. Could there be a bigger benefit to the dealer by padding the MF but supplying the customer with the illusion of a larger purchase discount?

The money factor for May is now .00166 Loyalty is up to $1000
The $760 in other fees is CA DMV fees and $80 dealer doc fee. Upfront taxes is tax on the rebate, but I would expect it to be closer to $250 or so. It includes MA 6.25% sales tax. MF, RV, and lease credit are the same as you posted. The dealer discount is about 5.7%. Is this a good deal? I didn't see any acquisition fee listed. Do those numbers add up?

Yeah.... if you figure the $1000 pays for the dealer fees and first payment, then add the $925 to the selling price, the payments are pretty close.
We usually shoot for 7% off, but that's only $585 more.. About $18/mo. difference
