Incentive on the Laredo in your area is actually $4500.

It's $500 more on any other trim.

Good morning! I was hoping someone would be able to help me with a leasing question. What is the difference between a lease deal that is zero down with taxes, title, and first month due at signing vs one that is $2,500 down (assuming $2,500 is enough to cover taxes and fees)?

the term "down" typically excludes taxes and fees. So when you see an advertisement of "$0 down," they are only referring to a true cap cost reduction and the taxes and fees are extra.

In the end, it doesn't matter what you call it, money up front lowers the payment, regardless of what line item the money is applied to.

Thanks to many of you for your assistance with my latest lease. I wanted to report back with my story and details as I found those posts especially helpful.

I just leased a Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 with navigation and sunroof for 10k miles/month for 36 months (in NJ). Beyond the numbers, quotes and prices paid listed here, I also utilized Honcker as my starting point (an app I hadn't even heard of before seeing it mentioned here). In addition, I utilized Vroom (another app I hadn't even heard of) to offload my '16 Accord EX, the lease of which was ending in April, and came out $500 on top in the process.

After seeing the good Grand Cherokee numbers here, I checked out Honcker and the deals were incredible. I was focused on a Limited with no options at all for $317 with $317 due at signing. My plan was to have Honcker/the dealer adjust it to $0 due at signing, which would have been somewhere around $326/month or so. The numbers on Honcker actually went up a couple days after I first saw them and have since begin to fall again, but not to the level they were at when I first looked.

I didn't want to settle at just what Honcker was showing initially, so I used it as my starting point. I connected via e-mail with many dealers, the vast majority of which wouldn't even have a conversation with me until I came in. That's not how it works, so I avoided those dealers.

I wanted to see the car, so I went into the closest dealership to me to take a look. A salesman approached me and I told him, full disclosure, I'd love to work with you, but I have a flaming hot deal on Honcker and I don't want to waste your time (or my own). They were actually a participating dealer and jumped at the chance to work with me. I had to leave soon after, but we went back and forth on the phone for a day and eventually settled on $329/month with $329 down for a Limited with navi and sunroof as all their cars had at least that.

My ultimate goal before setting out was $325/month with $0 due at signing for a Limited with no options. Although this deal is a bit more than that (for more car), I actually come close when you factor in the $500 I made on the Accord. Regardless, I am happy.

Spoke with my dealer and they were all available to me. The $5000 in IDL cash is available only via a third party lender. If you use Chrysler financial then the rebates were $5500. It was a better deal to use the extra $5000 and lease via US Bank. They MF was a bit higher but it was offset to the positive by the extra $5000 in incentives.
