New to leasing and wanted to run a lease deal by the forum to see if it made sense or was a good deal. I live in MA.
2019 EX-L - Sale price of $32,985 Lease of 36 months / 15k Miles
$7k down (difference in trade-in)
Dealer told me residual was $22,477.90, and MF was .00139.
Monthly payment was quoted at $275. Good or bad? Monthly payment feels high when I run the numbers and feel like I'm missing something for putting $7k down.

What is the MSRP?
$7K over 36 months is $194/mo, so your true cost is $469/mo.
And, do you know the adjusted cap cost? It's possible some of that $7K is going to the up front fees, RMV costs, etc.

I don't know what True Cost means? Is there a link where I could read about that?
MSRP was $38.755. I don't know what the adjusted cap cost was, I assumed that was the sale price. Unfortunately, the dealer won't quote me any other numbers "unless I come in and go over the deal with the business manager", which makes me think they are hiding something somewhere in the payment.
Nevermind I understand what you mean by true cost. Basically if I took the 7k out of the equation, it would be 469/mo for the lease.
Correct.
To get to your payment, the Adjusted CAP cost would have to be about $29,200 With $7000 upfront, about $3000 would have to be added to the deal to get to that CAP
$32985 -$6725 upfront ($7000 minus first payment) = $26260.
$595 acquisition fee $500 dealer fee? $300 DMV fees? $400 upfront sales tax on the CAP reduction?
Monthly payment: $391.71 (price include taxes) First payment (include registration fees, docs fees, and first-month payment): $1047.51 36/12K
Congrats! Excellent deal. thanks for sharing
Congrats Kender on this amazing deal. Looking for the same kind a deal for my father-in-law's Ody. Would you mind sharing the dealer's quote with those numbers to try to convince mine here in SFL to do the same deal?

I know the dealers play shell games with the money to confuse the buyer, I'd say they succeeded in confusing me on this one. I went in last night to put the deposit down and have a rough sales contract and the numbers are very confusing.
On the contract I have: - Price of Unit: $34,010.77 - Trade-In Allowance: $14,500 - Trade Difference: $19,510 - Doc Prep: $474 - MA Sales Tax: $17.19 - Lic. & Title: $165 - Total Contract Price: $20,171 - Balance Due on Trade: $8,442 - Amount to be Financed: $29,209.08 - 1st Payment due today: $275
I know money gets moved around, and on the scrap paper they told me the unit price was $32,985, should I call the deal off or are those numbers ok?
I did my research on my trade (2015 Odyssey EX-L, 62k miles) and the range for it was 14,500-16 on trade. I thought I was getting 15,500 on the trade, but on the contract is says 14,500.

Wanted to present this offer I received from the dealership and determine whether or not there is room for any further negotiating on my behalf.
Zip Code: 46038 2019 Odyssey EX-L (Scarlet Pearl) 12,000/YR 36 Months MSRP - $38,605 Selling Price - $34,850 Cap Costs - $35,458.93 (What is the additional $609?) Residual - $23,163 (60%) Money Factor - .00139
Payment WITH taxes $453.00
Want to understand any incentives offered by Honda vs. any discount provided by the dealership itself.
Part II: Trading in a vehicle under lease with a lease buy-out number. Assuming the trade in = vehicle purchase/buyout. Do I have to buy it first then sell to dealer? Or can dealer purchase directly? Trying to see if I am on the hook for sales tax for the portion of the buy-out.

The extra $609 is the $595 acquisition fee plus sales tax.
The incentives are all to the dealer, and are part of the selling price offered to you.
If you trade in the existing vehicle, the dealer will factor in any positive or negative equity into your new deal.
If the lease on the existing vehicle is over, why not just turn it in and not worry about trade?

Based on previous posts, the deal offered by the dealer doesn't seem that great. Hence my question regarding discounts and incentives. Maybe they are not as many incentives in my area if the country?
Secondly, the car lease isn’t over. And to make things simple, I asked if trading in a vehicle at par with the lease buyout amount would trigger a sales tax obligation. Maybe I am incorrect, but if I called to end my lease early and purchase the vehicle out the lease, i’d be obligated to pay sales tax.
I don’t own the vehicle that I’m wanting to trade-in so I’m hoping to get some clarity to the process. More concerned about tax consequences and less concerned about “+” or “-“ equity right now.

You should check with your state department of revenue on the tax implications - they should be the final authority on such things.
The Honda programs are national, but there are no lease incentives on the Odyssey.

I am paying a total of 480 per month inclusive of taxes for odyssey exl res and nav. 24400 is the residual value. This is for the zip code 08873 in new jersey. In total I am paying about 17280 for 10k/36 months.
I have browsed through quite a few pages and all the questions seem to be about leases. I would like to buy a EX/L or touring and I am wondering what people are getting off MSRP?
Is there another place to look for that? Or could anyone share their numbers?
